Papa Bear’s Lodge has everything you need for a getaway you’ll never forget: gorgeous surroundings, a convenient location, luxuries such as a hot tub and a pool table, and room for twenty-two of your closest friends and family to accompany you. Yes, this five bedroom, 3,840-square-foot chalet can sleep up to twenty-two people. What’s more, your four-legged friends are welcome too!
Surrounded by dense woodlands, Papa Bear’s Lodge offers amazing views of the Great Smoky Mountains—and plenty of decks from which you can admire them. One deck/porch wraps around the entire main level, so you can savor peaceful sunrises as well as spectacular sunsets. Bring out your morning coffee or your evening tisane, sit back on a rocker, and relax!
The great room takes up much of the main floor. Double-height vaulted ceilings and expansive windows add to the airy, sunny ambiance; roomy sofas, a gas fireplace, a ceiling fan, rustic yet elegant furnishings, and a flat-panel TV (one of eight in the house!) make this a fabulous gathering spot for the whole gang.
The downstairs media room is another inviting spot to kick back with family and friends; movie night, anyone? The leather seating is so comfortable, you may want to stretch out on it even when you’re not making use of the large flat-screen TV with surround sound. Challenge friends to chess at the pub table or post photos on Instagram of your day’s adventures, courtesy of the free WiFi. Or step out onto the downstairs deck and enjoy a soak in the hot tub, gazing out at the mountains all the while.
The lower level is also home to two bedrooms, each of which has two queen-size beds and an en-suite bathroom. If several families are vacationing together, you may want to settle the kids down here. What’s more, two of the media room’s sofas open into beds for two, so that the downstairs can sleep up to twelve people in all.
Back on the main floor, there’s a dining table that seats at least eight, plus room for several more at the breakfast bar. The kitchen is outfitted to the same high standard as the rest of Papa Bear’s Lodge: stainless-steel appliances, a spacious stone countertop, cookware, and tableware galore. The open layout makes it easy for several people to help prep the meal—forget what they say about too many cooks spoiling the broth!
One of the chalet’s three master bedrooms is on the main floor. From the king-size bed to the flat-panel TV to the jetted tub in the en-suite bathroom, everything about it is designed with pampering in mind. Doors open onto the deck, so you can slip out for a romantic nightcap under the stars, then wake up to a stunning view in the morning.
The sofa bed in the great room sleeps another two people. What’s more, the floor above can accommodate an additional six overnight guests: Each of the two master suites has a king-size bed plus a daybed, making these bedrooms perfect for couples with a small child. Each bedroom has its own bathroom as well, and a private deck—so romantic!
Separating the two upstairs bedrooms is a game room. The focal point of this clubby space is the full-size billiard table, though there’s also a bar area where you can chat with friends over a cold drink as you watch TV… or admire the view!
Papa Bear’s Lodge is blissfully private. But despite its seemingly secluded setting, the cabin is only fifteen minutes from the restaurants, shops, and amusements of downtown Gatlinburg. Even closer is the Great Smoky Mountains National Park, with its hiking trails, historic cabins, waterfalls, and wildlife ranging from black bears to elk.
Best of all, when you stay at Papa Bear’s Lodge you can have family, friends, and even Fido stay with you—and isn’t that the most important element of a great getaway? So don’t delay; book your stay today!
Please remember that Gatlinburg and the surrounding area is a mountain town with snow and icy conditions during the winter. Inclement weather can affect driving and parking conditions regardless of the property, driveway, or roads. We strongly recommend four-wheel drive and/or chains during the winter months.
