Why Joseph Domagala chose Ellsworth
This is a great secluded property with no neighbors (I also own the property next door), with all the modern coveniences of home but with the peaceful and restful feeling of a cottage miles away from civilization.
What makes this Cottage unique
Upper Patton Pond is a smaller quiet pond with no public boating access which keeps boat noise and activity at a minimum.

Scenic and serene
Our stay at Upper Patton Pond was very nice. The house is relatively new and clean. We were out traveling for most of our stay, mainly to Bar Harbor and Acadia - a 45 minute drive. Overall, a nice place. We absolutely loved hearing the loons on the pond and had a great time getting close-up views using the kayaks. The cottage has a serene and secluded feel, but is not too far off the beaten path.
Wonderful peaceful location, incredible views
We had a wonderful time, the cabin was very comfortable and it had everything we needed. We really enjoyed the porch, and the sunsets were amazing. We felt like we had the pond to ourselves. The water was clean and not too cold for swimming. I think it was the best location on the pond. it was gorgeous morning, noon and night. The cabin and location was everything we hoped it would be. I wish we stayed longer. I would definitely like to return!
Exactly what a cottage on the water should be!
My husband & I have rented many water front cottages and never have we stayed in one as ideal as this. It’s beautiful, clean, spacious AND allowed my cat! I am a natural overpacker so I did not need to use much in the home but this cottage has EVERYTHING you could possibly need & the welcome guide encouraged you to use the items. Everything includes a fully stocked bathroom & kitchen, linens, towels, kayaks, beach chairs, life jackets, I could go on and on. This is clearly a well loved and cared for property, I felt like I was being welcomed into a family members home. I love the look of the wood throughout the home. The outside had plenty of room to lay out in the sun, float in the pond and grill. Unfortunately it was wayyy to hot to utilize the fire pit. They even had air conditioning which we found out is hard to find in rentals in this area. I almost forgot about the screened in front porch overlooking the pond! It’s great to sit out there, enjoy nature and not be attacked by bugs! I was able to see and hear loons while staying at this property! I would highly recommend this rental to anyone looking to stay in this area!!!
Great place to stay and close enough to Acadia NP
Great place to stay, easy to find, plenty of room. Cottage was very nice, clean and enjoyed the screened porch. We used the kayaks and fire pit often. Easy 45 minute drive to Acadia NP. Grocery stores within 15-20 minutes. We could have used an air conditioner as it was hot and humid. Could use a couple dish cloths as no dishwasher. The washer worked right away 2 of 3 uses bIt no big deal. Would recommend matress pads on beds. The basement had a strong smell like glue of the wood walls maybe. No hammocks on site as photo shows but has 4 chairs. Owner response was fast to questions. Enjoyed listening to the loon's at night and seeing the stars. Would stay here again for sure.
Beautiful property and view of the lake!
Very impressed with the property. It is well taken care of and has everything needed for an enjoyable week. Would definitely rent again.
A week on Upper Patten Pond
I loved the house and the views from the lovely screened in porch. The kitchen needs a full set of pots and pans for the families that want to cook meals. Loved having WiFi but was disappointed in the choice of channels with the television. The biggest disappointment was the difficulty accessing the water. The short steep path was extremely slippery and the rocks placed on the path made it even worse. Once down to the water, it would be nice to have a ladder and a railing to exit the pond. The location was quiet and serene, The loons made frequent visits and we were thrilled to see a Bald Eagle on a few occasions. Proximity to Ellsworth made it easy to buzz to town for breakfast at Martha's, a trip through Reny's, or a lovely dinner at Union River Lobster Pot.If you are looking for a spot in a secluded location with gorgeous views then this is the place. Again, the only draw back to this spot was the access to the water.
