As a native Floridian, I found a true home in Brevard. The community is truly charming and welcoming and being in the mountains gives you a chance to take a deep breath and enjoy life. I would like to share my home with you so you can enjoy the pleasure of the mountains and the pace of small town life. This is the best of both worlds.
Cindy purchased this House in 2012
Why Cindy chose Brevard
My home is in a quiet and safe neighborhood that is convenient to everything. You will be able to spend time in the town of Brevard which is known for it's white squirrels and visit the waterfalls found throughout Transylvania County. This classic brick bungalow is so comfortable with central air and heat, hardwood floors, fireplace and great open layout. I love the windows that offer plenty of light but also lots of privacy. If you want to relax while having everything close by, this is the place for you.
What makes this House unique
I love the bay windows in the dining room. They are high enough for privacy but bright and airy. The back deck right off the kitchen is a great place for coffee for drinks in the evening. I love to watch people as they take their evening or morning walks. Sometimes the local 5K races or even local parades pass right down this street. The living room has large windows and is open to the dining area. This is a big room with a fireplace. I love the spacious feel to the home. The bedrooms are private from each other. I can use the master bedroom with attached bathroom and the second bedroom can use the guest bath without even seeing each other. The bedrooms are high and you can look from the windows to the trees where white squirrels often frolic. The washer and dryer in the hall is so convenient that doing a bit of laundry is a snap. WiFi and Netflix is included to keep you in touch. You won't miss a thing.

Loved the proximity to downtown Brevard. It was very easy to get to, although the "walking distance" may be interpreted differently by different people. It was 0.75 miles from the driveway to the main intersection downtown. The kitchen was well stocked with everything we needed, as were the bathrooms. The living room was comfortable and we were able to watch a movie by logging into our own Netflix account on the DVD player.
I have two minor critiques...
1) There was dog hair in some corners of some rooms and along some baseboards.
2) The house was stocked with food as if someone was living there full time. I've rented VRBOs where people left random food items in the refrigerator, but the refrigerator and cabinets were completely stocked with food. Bedroom closets also had lots of personal clothing items in them. These things did not detract from our stay, but it was just a little different feeling like we were staying in a home that someone lived in full time (or at least almost full time).
Overall, very good stay. Thank you.
Comfortable, Convenient and Clean
My family really enjoyed staying here. The home is cozy and very roomy. My son has been at the music center for two months and the whole family came up for closing weekend. We enjoyed lots of family meals around the spacious dining table. The kitchen had what we needed to do all our cooking. The living room has plenty of seating. The back porch was our favorite area. Nice and shaded in the morning with nice wicker furniture, lovely plants and a quiet neighborhood. Unfortunately, no white squirrel sightings for us. Evenings on the back porch were also quite pleasant.
Downtown is an easy 4 minute drive or you can walk it in about 20.
The bedrooms were large and the beds very comfortable. Nice linens for bed and bath were provided. The owner does have a lot of her personal items in the closets and drawers but there was plenty of space to unpack. The house does have a very “lived in” feel which is different from other VRBOs we have stayed in but still fine.
Speaking of the owner, Cindy was good to work with and very responsive.
We probably won’t be returning to Brevard as my son won’t be attending the summer music festival again, but if we were to come back I would definitely stay in this home again. We were very satisfied with everything. Thank you Cindy!
I really enjoyed my stay here. It is conveniently located to both the town and hiking areas. Our main reason for traveling here was to explore the Pisgah National Forest and DuPont State Park. Both were easily accessible. We also loved that our dogs could join us, and the fenced backyard was very convenient. The house itself was clean and met our needs perfectly.
Very comfortable home with convenient location
Wonderful VRBO rental - clean, comfortable and very convenient to downtown Brevard. Loved that it was all one story and appreciated the tip to unload luggage at the front door (there are quite a few steps going up to the back door). Cynthia went above and beyond to make us comfortable - she provided many items that we've not been accustomed to in our rentals in the past (ample paper goods, liquid soap, coffee, etc.). It was a great vacation and our 4 legged family member (our westie) enjoyed the trip too! Unfortunately the white squirrels were not very cooperative this trip (there were only 2 white squirrel sightings the entire trip). Thanks for a terrific rental experience and for making your rental dog friendly! We visit Brevard once or twice a year and will definitely plan to rent this home again!
Dog-friendly, great location
Really enjoyed our stay. It’s a great house, well-cared for, super clean, and we appreciated being close to downtown Brevard. I enjoyed having coffee on the deck in the mornings and it’s in a nice neighborhood for dog walks.
Very nice house and Cindy was most kind.
Our plans changed and Cindy was most kind to accommodate us getting in a day early. Her house is beautiful and we loved the back deck.
We only had two complaints, we brought our dogs and the fenced in yard had not been mowed so playing in weeds over their heads was not fun for them or us. Also, we brought a dozen donuts with us from our favorite bakery as a special treat only to find the box filled with ants when we opened it for breakfast. That was most disappointing as we were to share them with friends we were meeting there.
Brevard is known for it's healthy outdoor activities. It was voted to have the cleanest air in the country. It is located in Transylvania County, the land of the waterfalls, with hundreds of waterfalls found throughout the national parks that surround the town. If you like hiking, mountain biking, rock climbing, horseback riding or simply want to enjoy lovely mountain views, then this is the place for you!
