About the property

Over 1900 Sq. ft., wooded yard w/a small creek in a peaceful canyon. Sleeps 6

Ours is a fun, retro style walk out basement nestled in a beautiful small canyon in the foothills of Bountiful, Utah. Quiet and serene with a small creek outside your window, it's a great get away and only 15 minutes from the heart of downtown Salt Lake City. 5 minutes from hiking/biking trails, restaurants & shopping with golfing & rec center nearby with swimming, ice skating, sports, gym, and more. 15- 20 minutes from Downtown SLC and the airport.

50 minutes to 6 of Utah's major ski resorts-Park City, Cottonwood Canyons, and Ogden. Bountiful Temple is minutes away, 20 to the Salt Lake Temple, City Creek Center and all that the city offers.

Pool & Foosball table; Projector TV & 55 TV". Fireplace, kids area, full size kitchen with microwave, stove top & oven, dishwasher, full size fridge/freezer (shared), even complete with an old fashioned shake maker & ice cream dishes!

Separate entrance. Great yard with creek, barbecue, picnic tables, play area, buried trampoline, grass and lots of space to spread out.

Relax or play! We have a rec room with pool and foosball table, large screen projector TV as well as a 50" TV with Netflix,Roku, DVD's, Games for all ages... It's a play area for kids both young and old!

Relax in the back yard by the creek while kids jump on the trampoline or play in the sandbox with trucks or on the swings. Throw out a blanket in the shade and enjoy the canyon breeze when it's hot in the valley.

Winter has great snow (when we have snow), so kids can play outside and we have great hills nearby for sledding.

Half a block up our street we have fantastic mountain biking and hiking trails, and even more fabulous biking trails around Bountiful, Farmington, Salt Lake Cottonwood Canyons and Park City .

Lots of personality and equipped to entertain all ages.

Check in 3:00 pm, Check out 11:00 am

We would love to have you enjoy Canyon Creek Escape!

Please note that in the winter season, if it is snowy, you would do best with a 4 wheel drive vehicle. We keep the drive cleared (It has a hill and can be hard to get out of with much snow before it's cleared) And since we can't predict the weather, it may snow when we are away. We do our best to keep it shoveled but can't predict the storms you know!

Why Gary K Rymer chose Greater Avenues

We fell in love with our canyon as it's the best of both worlds. Close to the city yet it feels far away. We never wanted to move after being here.

It's great to take a walk up the dirt road towards the National Forest trail that goes up over the mountain with an outlook viewing both Ogden and Salt Lake City at the same time. Or a walk on the paved roads with a fabulous view of the Great Salt Lake sunsets.

When the valley is hot, we are much cooler and when there is an inversion we are usually above it!

What makes this house unique

We LOVE the setting of being in a quiet canyon with a little creek that runs close enough to the house that we can look at it and hear it. We love having trails within walking distance from our home. We Love having occasional wildlife around us. And we really love that we can be in down town SLC in 15-20 minutes!

Great place to relax outside and enjoy inside

  • 4 of 5

Hosts we're very helpful and responsive. Nice, quiet location and relaxing outside area to enjoy the creek.

Great, roomy and clean setup inside with plenty of activities for all. Only negative is there is some noise from upstairs, at times, since you are in basement.

Owner's Response: Thanks for coming! We did have grandkids for a bit and they are not normally there. Sorry you heard them! Usually our house is pretty empty since it's just my husband and I. We appreciate how nice you left everything, thank you! It was nice having you!

Peaceful Retreat!

  • 5 of 5

We really enjoyed our stay at this property! The unit is outfitted to literally be your home away from home! In fact, we don't have a milkshake mixer at home - but this property does! The outfitted kitchen and laundry appliances alone make this unit an incredible value for a couple or family with kids alike. Add the game tables, video projector, and the HUGEST media collection I've ever seen and you won't find a better bang for your buck. The owners live on-site above the rental and I generally shy away from that style of arrangement in the interest of privacy - but that is not at all of concern here. Chaton was very prompt in answering any questions I had - yet privacy was never a concern. The property is in an upscale setting surrounded by other very beautiful homes. It is near the end of a dead end street so it very quiet. We heard the peaceful sound of the stream running behind the home more than anything else! You'll be close to all the conveniences of town, however, are up in the foothills so be prepared to drive with a steady/steep grade. While the owners do point out a walkway hazard (tall folks have to duck to clear the deck in one spot) they may consider padding the offending board or hanging an orange flag from it to offer a better reminder/protection. We had one bell-ringing incident and it's not soon forgotten. ha ha. Would certainly recommend this property!

Owner's Response: Brad, thanks for your well thought and detailed review! I am so sorry about your head! Great idea to put something there, we will get on that. And have plans to change it completely so it's not an issue. Glad you enjoyed your stay. We loved having you! You left everything in beautiful condition and we really appreciate it. Come again! Have a great day, Chaton & Gary

Gary was friendly and responsive to every need. The aesthetics of the apartment are perfect and all necessities available. My kids loved all the little extra touches so much, they didn't want to leave.

Nice comfy home to stay

  • 5 of 5

We all felt like this home was very nice. The owners were very accommodating when we had questions. Privacy was not a concern for us but people need to know that this has a very open sleeping area with truly only one bedroom but yes, enough sleeping for 6. Even though this was a lower level of a larger home it was quiet &comfortable. Also, we had an event at the Salt Palace & this home was not a long drive at all. We were very thankful to be out away from the crowd a little.

Owner's Response: Thanks for staying with us! We appreciate the comment about the separate sleeping areas, because there is only one room with a door, it's hard to imagine that the areas are separate. We get asked about that a lot, and it's usually one of the first things guests appreciate! I hope your convention went well, it sounds really great! Thanks for communicating and letting us know your plans. I hope your travels went well, we would love to have you come any time :)

We have the best of both worlds! 15 minutes from downtown Salt Lake City and all it has to offer, but are in a quiet canyon neighborhood with dirt trails, or quiet streets with nice views of the valley and Great Salt Lake.

We are just 5 minutes from grocery stores and restaurants, and even more restaurants and activities in Salt Lake City. Great shopping centers 15 minutes away, City Creek & Gateway in SLC, and Station Park in Farmington.

There is a lot to do and major Canyons and Ski Resorts within 50 minutes.

During the winter, we tend to get more snow then in the valley and 4 Wheel Drive is recommended. We keep it clear, but as we can't predict storms, we never know!
