Numerous Problems

This condo has a gorgeous view and this is a nice property with a beautiful beach, but this unit has not been well maintained. The listing describes it as meticulous but the carpeting is dirty and filled with stains. It was not ready at check-in time and was not properly cleaned before we checked in. Dirty kitchen counters, refrigerator, oven, bath, etc. Also advertises under building parking, but this unit does not include that. I would never book another property through Vacation Rental Pros. Arriving at their office 15 min. after check-in time, we were informed by the Operations Mgr. that the previous tenant was refusing to vacate the condo after a six week stay and the sheriff had been called to evict him. This person should have been out by 10AM. The Ops Mgr. said the Property Mgr. was at the scene with the cleaning crew and as soon as the tenant was out they would clean the condo & meet us there with the keys. I asked her repeatedly to make sure the condo was thoroughly cleaned as I did not want to move in if it wasn’t cleaned properly. She assured me this would be done, stated she would be giving us a discount due to the inconvenience, and would let us know “once she had worked that out”. We spoke with the Prop. Mgr. at the condo and the tenant was still moving out at 4PM. I stressed repeatedly that the cleaning crew should not rush through the job as we wanted it done right. We left, and just over an hour later received a call that we could pick up the keys from security. When we arrived it was obvious that the condo had not been cleaned very well at all. You cannot adequately clean a 900 sq. ft. condo in just over an hour! The kitchen counters were filled with food debris and sticky spots. I don’t think they had been cleaned at all. The refrigerator also had food bits and sticky spots and the red water filter light was on, meaning it was dirty. There was a dirty broiler pan in the oven, along with a large pool of spilled grease on the oven bottom which smoked badly when turned on. The bathroom tub and floor had numerous stray hairs. The insides of the windows were filled with smudged spots. The outside balcony had not been swept. I ended up cleaning everything myself, totally unacceptable. Despite repeated e-mails to the Ops Mgr. and customer service, we have never received a discount as promised. The parking space issue was also never resolved, just more empty promises that they were working on it.
