Quiet, tiny, beautiful cabin in the woods

Bedrooms 2
Space 821 sq ft
Property type cabin
Minimum Stay 2 - 3 nights

About the property

Two bedroom cozy cabin away from all the hustle and bustle

My place is close to town with golf, tennis, swimming, dining, and great views. You’ll love my place because of the views, wildlife (deer), hiking, and mostly the silence! My place is good for couples, solo adventurers, and families (with kids). The cabin is very quiet. Even the weather is distinctly different from just down the hill in Frazier park.

The bedrooms are upstairs and one is more like a loft~open setting without a door. But the rooms are separate. There is a queen upstairs in the master and two twins in the second bedroom. One is a pullout folding mattress. Downstairs is a futon. Comfortably 5 can sleep, but 6 if the futon is shared.

Don't forget to bring linen, towels and any personal items. There are some kids' dvd's at the cabin but you might want to bring some of your own. Also I have lots of family games to use. Please be aware that in the mountains the internet is slower~ as life is~so streaming can take lots of time. Best to download at night and watch the next day if you are getting movies from the internet. Here is some info on the internet:

The property has internet capability through Frazier Internet.

8:01am to 9:59pm is peak hours

10:00pm to 8:00am is offpeak

We have limits on data usage during peak hours. We do not have any limits on the amount of data you can download and upload during offpeak hours.

Here are the directions on how to change the Playback Settings in

Netflix, which will lower the amount of data you use when streaming:

Log into Netflix

Put your cursor over your name in the upper right hand corner of the

Netflix screen, click on "My account" on the menu that pops up.

On the account page, go to "My Profile", and click on "Playback

Change the Data Usage per Screen setting to "Low".

Uncheck "Play next episode automatically".

Click "Save".

About nora frolick

I am a dog groomer, jacket designer and graphic designer all wrapped in one! Estonian heritage with Canadian roots and a Valley girl to boot! My fingers are in a lot of pots and I love little cottages where one could burrow up in a corner with a good book. That is why I bought this place.

nora frolick purchased this cabin in 2009

Why nora frolick chose Kern County

I love the idea of owning a tiny place in the woods. I was looking for something not far from the city to vacation to and found this gem. I absolutely love it. And with the red porch and shingles on the front it feels so old world.

What makes this cabin unique

One of the tiniest cabins around. I feel very contained yet there is room to breathe. I am leaving a very small footprint and it is reminicent of tiny homes.

Please remember to bring Linens towels bed sheets pillow cases, toilet paper and any personal items. as there may be none at the cabin. I stock these items monthly. There is internet through the local provider. This is for browsing and email. Since you are in the mountains it is not as quick as it would be in the city. The passcode is available upon arrival. There are games, toys and a dvd player for your use. Don't forget to rent some dvd's before your arrival! If you can leave the cabin the way it was when you arrived that would be very much appreciated. There is a pellet stove to use on cold nights. The water turn off instructions are in the notebook. Please turn off any heaters that you might have turned on upon leaving and make sure you put the keys back into the lock box. Most importantly relax and have a great time!

Perfect for a weekend getaway or just to disappear from the hustle of the big city.

This is not the Ritz Carlton, we didn’t want 5 stars with all the fills; this little cabin gave us a romantic comfortable escape over the Memorial weekend from the headaches of Los Angeles stress. Clean comfortable, accommodating and totally adequate for a romantic getaway with the pooch. We were very nice and warm on the cold nights and enjoyed the sunny balcony watching the families of squirrels scattering around while we sipped our French champagne during the day. Pack some goodies and just park the car. We had perfect stay and will be back. Thanks Nora for your little hideaway!

Perfect Christmas getaway

  • 5 of 5

This cute, clean cabin was perfect for what our family wanted for the holidays. It is definitely small, but is cozy and warm. Our family of five was very comfortable there, and I loved that I could watch the kids sled safely in the front yard, from the warm living room. The kitchen was adequate for preparing meals, and though there is no dining room table, the kids loved piling up the floor pillows (provided) to sit around the coffee table, while the adults sat on the couch. There are steep stairs, so families with toddlers might want to bring along a baby gate. I appreciated that the owner responds quickly to all emails, and that she has stocked the cabin with games and books. There are many hiking trails nearby, and the owner provides detailed descriptions and directions to each. There is also a clubhouse nearby, though we didn't have time to check it out. This cabin is not large or fancy or new, but it is clean and cozy and exactly what our family was looking for, to spend quality time together. We had a wonderful time, and will definitely be returning in the future.

This is a great place to relax as though you were camping without the stress of setting up tent. The town is adorable and the hiking trails are amazing! Come see the beauty in all the seasons just an hour from San Fernando Valley! And yes we get snow!
