' There's a marvelous, peaceful aura in your property there. Can't be just the marvelous setting. Must also come from the care you give it.'

from a review by Marty

Come and enjoy our white sand beach, beautiful water, and perfect sunsets. This unique, beachfront house is the only home on a 600 foot stretch of white sand beach (that means that no house is jammed against you on either side). The spacious open floor plan features hardwood floors and tile baths, flat screen tvs, dvd players, and wifi, plus a fully outfitted kitchen and laundry room make this a perfect house for your vacation needs. It is designed with a central wall that has sets of pocket doors between two sides so that it can be rented as one whole unit (six bedrooms, two kitchens, two living rooms, etc.) or the sets of sliding pocket doors can be closed and it can be rented as two units. During the months of June and July, we only rent it as a whole unit. It is a well thought out, architect designed home that features simple decor - wood floors throughout and simple, functional furnishings. Each bedroom opens onto the Gulf breezes. It features two huge decks that span the whole gulf front of the house where rocking chairs are waiting for the guests, making the gulf front location a perfect place to watch dolphins and sea birds.

Our Gulf County beaches were voted the number one beaches in America several years ago and many people describe this as 'Old Florida', comparatively unspoiled and unfrequented by the hordes of vacationers. We have sunsets that take your breath away and the beach is your front yard, only steps down your private walkway.

This home is located on a stretch of beach known locally as 'the Beaches' and is made up of Mexico Beach, Beacon Hill Beach, and St. Joe Beach. It is the spot where the beautiful white sand/blue water beach begins (and extends west) in the panhandle and there have been several Sports Illustrated Swimsuit Issues shot here because of the natural beauty of the beachfront, our beautiful dunes, and impressive beachfront plant life.

The owners live nearby and are able to give the property the attention it deserves. Please read our comments to get an idea of the relaxing nature of a stay here.

Please do not contact us for price reductions;we are already well under local market value.

No weddings; No parties are allowed on the property.

Our house rents Sunday-Sunday for weekly rentals all summer and in April.

NEWS FROM ST. JOE BEACH- Changes have occurred in our area. Panama City has built a new airport and the airport features service by Southwest, Delta, Silver, and United Air as well as other airlines. .

Sacred Heart Hospitals has opened a hospital in Port St. Joe, 7 miles east of the beach house on Highway 98. It features a 24 hr emergency room and greatly expanded services for the area. In Sacred Heart on the Gulf's first years, it has received very high ratings for professionalism and courtesy.

Enjoy the beautiful white sand beach!

The moment we walked into what we call “The Rocking Chair House”, we were amazed at how well maintained, nice and spacious the house was. Many properties say beachfront or near the beach but this house is right on a large stretch of a gorgeous white sand beach! You can take in the views from two full length covered porches with eight plus relaxing rocking chairs. One of the best part of any beach stay is a bonfire and at this house it’s completely legal and fun to do. Just clean up the area in the morning. There’s a trash can right at the entrance so this is easy to do. We enjoyed making s’mores and telling stories by the fire a couple of the evenings. The WIFI reaches out towards the beach and on the patios so you can enjoy browsing your iPad, checking emails and sending real time photos that will make your family jealous :) The house is very spacious compared to many we have stayed at and has a very efficient layout. Each bedroom has two sinks, one in the shower area and one right in each of the master bedroom(s). This allows two people to get ready at the same time and have some extra space. The kids had a blast going up and down the spiral staircase which makes the upstairs feel like their private hideaway. There are other doors upstairs leading to the second “full length” deck which they used a bit, but they really enjoyed the spiral staircases. We had some great meals at Joe Mama’s Pizza and several of the local oyster bars. Even during the off season, this area is a blast and offers many great things to do. One of our favorite adventures was driving out to the Indian Pass oyster bar which is near a park out on a peninsula. This property is basically two symmetrical fully equipped 3 bedroom houses split by a rolling door. You can rent both or one side during non summer months. Due to the flexibility of this layout, you can have a family reunion with multiple families or book it for yourself. The hosts were very kind, helpful and knowledgeable about the area. One morning we had a wind storm and they called us to make sure everything was alright. This house was so solid and quiet, we barely even noticed but appreciated the call. The VRBO Bear

Fantastic family vacation

  • 5 of 5

This house is extremely functional for a large crowd (we had 10 adults and 7 kids). The outdoor decks are really great too. When we arrived the house was very clean (4 of the kids were under the age of 2 so clean floors was really important to us). The beach is great, very close to the house and nice white sand. We had a few rainy days and there were puzzles and games there to play. The restaurant across the street was really good too. The owner is very attentive and is available for any questions. We already booked for next year!

Family friendly for our Griffin Reunion

  • 4 of 5

The home is family friendly, with lots of room. We loved that we were right on the beach. We enjoyed watching the sunset from the porches while in the rocking chairs. The ocean water was beautiful and clear and fishing was great. We caught whiting, pompano and a hammer head shark. There's also a friendly crane that will stand around ALL day to wait on your throw backs. We even took a snap shot of everyone in the rocking chairs to mock the picture in the house. The house is close to so many shopping areas and restaurants. We had bunches of fun and lots of laughs.

Owner's Response: I have to admit that I was disappointed. Although, most vrbo owners would say that a four star review is a good review, this is our first. After many years of handling our one, family owned beach house and receiving only 5 star reviews, I wondered what we had not excelled in. In order to stand out , we have devoted ourselves to three things: extra effort to meeting our renters requests, utmost cleanliness, and quick response to any needs or complaints. Please read our other reviews. (and note the stars)

It was great! This was our second time staying here. The private beach is perfect ! This time, I even had my seven week old baby and it was so nice being able to be on the beach with him but be super close to go in as needed. Between my brother and I, we had 6 kids and they waves were perfect for skim boarding!

Across the street is one of the best restaurants we have ever been to. It's About 25 steps away! Best oysters ever!!!!

Our Family Reunion's Eighth Year!

  • 5 of 5

What a perfect week! The house is just right for our group and the wonderful deck looking out to the gulf on one side and St Joe Bay on the other is spectacular! We had several porpoise sightings, wonderful weather and of course the sunsets are amazing! Lots of swimming and beach time and so nice to be able to clean right up in the ample private showers right off the upper deck as well as the shower and foot bath on the stairway in from the beach! The well equipped kitchen and laundry round out a well appointed vacation getaway! Thank you so much!!!!

Best Family Vacation - ever!

  • 5 of 5

This was the first family vacation, with multiple generations, our family has taken (14 people). The house was perfectly designed to accommodate privacy for members as well as amble space for cooking, gathering and showering afterwards. Our grandchildren, 5 yrs/7 yrs loved the spiral staircases. We especially enjoyed being able to sit on the deck/ rocking chairs throughout the day, watching the activity on the beach, including early sunrises, fun time on the beach and evening sunsets. The location at St. Joe Beach also afforded numerous opportunities for dining out, deep sea fishing trips, dive trips, and numerous other local trips. We visited with several local folks, including the restaurant across street, Shipwreck. They were willing to grill our fish caught on the deep sea fishing trip - was delicious! Everyone was so friendly and helpful. Can't say enough of how perfect this was for a family vacation. The first week of may was perfect timing for warm days and cool nights.

Family reunion 2015

  • 5 of 5

Our families met here at this beautiful beach house for a long overdue family reunion during the beginning of August. With 8 adults and 7 children/young adults ranging from 10 to 17, we had plenty of room in this spacious, well kept duplex. We absolutely loved the view of the ocean from the double level porches and relaxing on the rocking chairs. On one day, we actually saw a pod of dolphins swim around, and one jumped up out of the water just like at Sea World! Unbelievable! My father, brother, 10 year old son, and 12 year old nephew shore fished every morning at 4:30 and had some great catches (as well as their share of seaweed)! There was very few people on the beach behind the house, so it felt at times you were at a private resort. The adjacent houses on each side of the duplex are farther off, so it definitely felt like you were on your own private beach. The duplex is very well kept, and has all the amenities of home and more. I love how each of the bedrooms have their own sinks, separate from the bathroom. It's great for adults and especially the kids. . . one can be taking a shower and another can be brushing their teeth. The open format of the kitchen and living room was perfect for family time and the spacious bedrooms accommodated us all so comfortably. There was very little we needed to bring as far as comforts from home, since the duplex had it all. We had no problem driving to the local supermarket to the west of the duplex or the Piggly Wiggly to the east of the duplex just a short distance away to get groceries or miscellaneous items. Mary is such a joy to talk and deal with! She truly wants to make your vacation in her duplex a wonderful one; she's extremely helpful, knows the area, and quick to respond to any questions you may have. When our vacation was over, and we left the duplex, my father forgot his watch. I contacted Mary, and she was able to find the missing watch. She mailed it back to my father free of charge. Thank you, Mary! Wonderful owner, beautiful property, great and memorable vacation!

Owner's Response: What kind words! We, too, are fans of the fabulous view, the rocking chairs, and the in-room vanities. Our area delights in our dolphins. They're wild and we keep it that way! And we appreciate the compliments about the management. It's our only rental house; family owned and managed, and we really do care about your experience.
