About the property

Condo, 2 Bedrooms + Convertible bed(s), 2.5 Baths (Sleeps 5)

Mark Twain writes in 1862 'This 'noble sheet of blue water,' is so clear 'boats seemed to be floating in air,' and the air is 'bracing and delicious...the same the angels breath.' USA Today writes 'A century and a half later, Tahoe's restorative mountain breezes and translucent water helped propel it past 14 challengers to win a USA TODAY reader survey as the 'BEST LAKE IN AMERICA.'

This charming condominium is easily one of the most desirable in a small 38 unit LAKEFRONT COMPLEX with a PRIVATE SANDY BEACH on the border of Tahoe Vista/Kings Beach. It has been decorated in the theme of the mountains with new sofas and new bedroom linens. You will find it immaculate ! It is a perfect destination for a summer or winter retreat.

The lovely remodeled pine kitchen has more than you could wish for including a waffle maker, cuisinart, blender, mixer, toaster, and other appointments. We provide spices, cooking oils, baking pans and much more. You will enjoy the mountain themed tableware for your dining.

Each bedroom offers a comfy (Sealy Posturepedic) queen bed with fresh linens. They each have their own private bathroom which has been remodeled in a pine motif. There are also two new sofa beds (doubles) downstair which allows for additional sleeping. Comforters are of course provided for all beds.

As a courtesy to our guests we keep the condo well stocked with the small necessities you might need. We want you to simply enjoy and not have to run errands for the basic items .

Lots of board games available . Three flat screen televisions. Two with cable and one for video games. Two DVD's. WiFi available.

A huge load of wood was just delivered !! Be warm and cozy with those wonderful wood fires !!

We have a larger patio than most at the complex. It is seasonal, but makes a wonderful addition to enjoy breakfast, lunch or dinner under the large market umbrella. Or simply enjoy the summer sun in the adirondack chairs on the patio.

Spend your days on our beautiful private sandy beach for kayaking, swimming, and boating. Bring your beach gear and umbrella and spend your days on one of the most beautiful lakes in the world. Generations of families have loved building sand castles, digging in the sand and fishing for crawdads on our lovely SANDY beach. Or simply relax in the sun with a good book.

After a day on the beach families love the seasonal heated pool . There are chairs, chaise lounges. tables and umbrellas for your convenience.

Northstar is a 10 min drive. We are a 5 min walk to Old Brockway Golf Course. We are a 3 minute drive to Tahoe Vista boat launch. North Tahoe Regional Park is only 5 minutes by car. The park provides wonderful tennis, hiking, mountain biking, slides and swings, baseball fields and soccer fields. In the winter you can sled , cross country ski, snowshoe and rent snowmobiles at the park. If you love the outdoors this is a MUST !!

Everything is in walking distance. Casinos are 5 minutes away by car. You can walk to a spacious and modernized Safeway store only minutes away, which also has a Starbuck's. Great restaurants within 5 minutes from our complex. Lanza's, a family Italian restaurant, is just a 2 minute walk. Expect to wait or go very early. Jason's has indoor and outdoor dining. Also call for take out and sit on the beach ! They serve everything, not expensive and very easy. My favorite! Walk along the beach going East, and you will find Java Hut where you can find your morning coffee and goodies...This is another favorite !

Come prepared to relax and enjoy!!

Relaxing condo

  • 5 of 5

We had a lovely long weekend at this condo in August, our first time to the Lake Tahoe area. The private beach was a nice feature - we loved being able to wander down to see the lake with a cup of coffee in the morning and a glass of wine in the evening! There was a nice grassy area as well by the water for picnics, etc. The condo was well-stocked and the owner was very pleasant to work with. The lack of a/c was a little surprise - my fault for not noticing previous comments (and sounds like not unusual for the area) - and it was definitely warm during the days, but it did cool off nicely overnight with the windows open. Probably August is the only month that the lack of a/c would even make a difference. But we thoroughly enjoyed our time here. Easy access to a grocery store for supplies, and we walked down to the Italian restaurant for dinner one night and to pick up a carry-out pizza for our kids another night. It was a very relaxing end of the summer vacation!

Adequate for making the best of Tahoe

  • 3 of 5

No fancy bells and whistles but a nice setup with private beach, convenient location, and quiet pool. We had a good time here. Going boating and doing the zip line course. The Wi-Fi is horrendous and could be the only upgrade to suggest. Its dial up quality.

Owner's Response: Hello Brian, thanks for taking time to write a review. This is a private 38 unit condo complex, less than half the units do rentals so it's fairly quiet. Since we are in a rural area of northern California, wi/fi internet speeds aren't up to urban standards. This is gradually improving but we don't have much control over it at this time. I'm looking into ways to get better internet for this unit (and myself, since I live here full time also). Thanks and hope you can return, Jim

Excellent location

  • 5 of 5

Previous reviews are all accurate. In a season where the Lake is higher than we've ever seen, it is nearly priceless to have a guaranteed spot for your toes in the sand - 24/7. The condo is clean and well stocked, the community is in an excellent location both for outdoor sports & leisure activities or dining. Other guests and owners are so friendly - it was a shame we had to leave! Seriously good peeps. Owner is prompt and professional with all communication. Nothing amiss here - a wonderful time was had by all!

Great location but a few things to take note of

  • 3 of 5

First, the pros.

(1) Jim is excellent. He is responsive and seems to really care that you enjoy your stay. He was very helpful with recommendations etc.

(2) The location is great. It is near Kings Beach and right on the lake. Can walk to small shops and restaurants, but it's a little dodgy along the main road.

(3) The place is clean and has a lot of things you need: spices, washer/dryer, fans, beach towels, etc.

(4) Beds are for the most part comfortable. One bed slightly more comfortable than the other.

The cons.

(1) Not a lot of windows or natural light downstairs and only slightly better upstairs. There are no views in this place. The front door goes straight to the parking lot and the back sliding door goes to a small enclosed porch. You cannot see the lake from anywhere inside or immediately outside this condo.

(2) The bathrooms are kind of small. This wasn't a big deal for us, but may be for some people.

(3) The wi-fi crawls at a speed found in the late 1990s. This generally wouldn't be a problem as we were there to play outside, but a friend needed to "work from home" one day and it didn't work well.

(4) It is on a private beach but with some important caveats. This small private beach is shared with everyone in the complex of condos (at least 30 condos, not sure the exact number). I don't know the square footage of the beach but it is small. When we were there a few people popped up their e-z up tents and essentially camped out all day. One group even did it right on the sandy part of the beach which essentially took up 40% of the beach. It worked for our small group, but if you are looking for more space you are best to just walk to a nearby public beach.

(5) No a/c. Not a huge deal but during summer it did get a little warm during the day, but easily cooled off at night.

All in all, this place will do the job. If you want quiet and natural light or views, I'd look somewhere else. If you want to walk 100 yards to the beach and don't mind the other small inconveniences, this place will work well.

Owner's Response: Hi Brian , thanks for your review. The condo isn't advertised as a lake view. We're sorry if you got this impression and will try to revise our online photos. No properties on the N Shore have A/C, as the nights are cool; '40's in May and June, 60's in July / Aug. Its 62 as I write this response. Following our record breaking snow season 2016 / '17, the Lake is filled to capacity for the first time in 7 years, we're so glad the drought ended! This has made our beach very small, and all 38 condo homeowners share it, so yes its been crowded, as have all the beaches on the lake. Regarding wifi, we are located in a rural area of northern California, and service is spotty at times. I will try to get a faster speed service for future guests. Thanks for your honest review and hope you can return again, Jim Regarding the wifi speed, we are located in a

Cozy Condo

  • 5 of 5

We loved the comfortable and well stocked condo. Close to everything - King's beach, North Tahoe Beach, restaurants, Safeway/Starbucks, and the complex has it's own little beach. Jim was very prompt and the transaction was smooth.
