All ten of us in our group enjoyed the property and the location. In fact, it would be hard to beat a better location, as we could walk independently off the property and into the town or beach ... a mere block away. In terms of communication with the manager, I would say Lynn was excellent in response to needs before and during the stay. We were greeted by another person, Todd, who was not mentioned beforehand, and we were a bit confused at first. I believe Todd lives in between the two houses we stayed in and added to a bit of a big brother feel for the group. Actually, it added to a walking on eggshells aspect for the group. If you stay here, make sure you keep the gate closed, as Todd will close it for you, even if you are waiting for the another vehicle to enter that is pulling up a block away. There was some mix up with the garbage time to pull the bin out to the street. We did not have it out by the street by 4:45pm (out to dinner) and Todd seemed disgruntled as he did it for us. Also, don't be surprised to find security cameras on the property. We were.
I appreciate the feedback on the property and the concerns.
We do have onsite management. This is mentioned in the advertising as well in the lease agreement.
We also advertise that there is security cameras on the driveway and carport. This is also advertised on the website and the lease agreement as we are bound to disclose this information.
We ask the gates be kept closed for your privacy and security. Also, there are neighborhood dogs that come into the property and poop in the driveway. Keeping the gates closed avoid this issue.
As far as the garbage goes, there were recycles in the garbage and he (Todd) was sorting it out before taking the garbage to the curb. We live on an island with limited resources and space. We ask our guests to sort the recycle out and put the recycle items into the appropriate bins so recycle does not end up in the landfill, also mentioned in the lease and house rules.
We loved our stay and have so many good things to share! The property and houses were clean and were the perfect piece of our family trip of ten! I feel that pictures do not do this place justice. Great location and Lynn was very easy to communicate with. Would love to come back!
Thank you Kelsey! Please come back and visit anytime!
Maui June 2019
Despite all the neighborhood noise such as leaf blowers, trash trucks and the sounds from the nearby bar, the overall stay was nice. We were very centrally located to restaurants and beaches.
Great House. Not fancy!
Really nice place to stay in Kihei. Excellent location. Close to shops, stores & restaurants. This is not fancy but totally worked for our groups. There was an issue and it was taken care of quickly. Lynn (owner) has lots of info about great places to eat and shop. Ask her for some good places. Overall we were extremely happy.
Exactly as advertised. Location is really 5 stars.
I spent the week of Christmas at this location with some family friends. It was overall a very good experience, which is why I gave it 5 stars. I would for sure recommend the rental. I think reviews that have pros and cons are good, so here I go:
Pros: a). Hand's down was location. Right behind the Kihei village area with multiple bars and grills, shopping and whatnot a 2 minute walk. Then, across the street is a park and the ocean, all within a 5 minute walk. Fun to stroll down the beach in the morning or night and tons of good food within walking distance. b) Location again. It was a 10 minute drive to the mall, the Four Seasons and Grand Wailea, tons of close nice beaches and my 8 year old took surfings lessons in Kihei, next to the shops. c) Size. We had a total of 9 people that easily fit. You can have 4 cars total, there are 6 bedrooms and 4 bathrooms. Plenty of room. d) Layout. The two separate bungalows allow some breaks between families and you are not on top of each other. We spent a week and it was peaceful. e) Finally, they had beach equipment like towels, umbrella, snorkeling, mats, boogie boards in the yard. Really big savings to use and the was sunblock, shampoo, etc. in the units. Really a good bonus.
Cons: Very minor and nothing to really complain about. I would say: a) Pools. The two pools are small and not heated. Despite 85 degree weather, the water was really too cold to enjoy. I think it is because they are small but deep so the water never really gets too warm. No one over age 8 really used the pools as a result. A heater would be a good idea. b) No tv in the rooms. Minor issue but it would be nice to have a tv in the master as well as the front room. Nothing much else to report negative.
The owner had a lot of rules in a booklet, but they were hard to argue with, and I got a hassle free full deposit back. Overall, highly recommend. We were there an entire week and had zero issues.
