About Linda Roggli
I wasn't born in Durham but I got here as fast as I could! 30-year resident makes me almost a native. Husband is physician at Duke; I'm a life coach for ADHD women 50+. We love to travel and have visited 20 countries over the years (France and Greece my personal favorites). Empty nesters, but as busy as ever. Eventually, Hay House may be our retirement home but for now we live on 11 acres in north Durham. Check out GardenSpirit Guesthouse which is the northern Durham guesthouse on our property, listed on VRBO (very different vibe - back to nature with lots of gravel paths and labyrinth).
Linda Roggli purchased this House in 2016
Why Linda Roggli chose Durham
Convenient to Duke and major highways; lots of natural light, 9' ceilings and two-story family room, new carpet and paint, lots of storage in the kitchen. First floor master with en suite bath. Nice flow to the house - kitchen, family room open to each other, dining room and living room open concept without being too open! Also liked the fact that the stairway didn't hit you in the face when you walked in the door! Just a nice design in a great location and good neighborhood.
What makes this House unique
Love the two-story family room and open kitchen. Plus the extra large master suite is nice on the first floor. You'll enjoy the cozy seating area in the living room - a nice place to sit and relax. And all the light fixtures are new -- I am particular about lighting - got rid of all those awful 'boob lights" - and these fixtures are gorgeous (even if I do say so). A very comfortable, welcoming home that is super convenient.

We loved this house and our visit to Durham!
This house has it all - a great location, amenities, plenty of space and a wonderful owner. We were so impressed with the warm welcome we received on our arrival, especially since it was later than anticipated. The house was beautifully decorated for the holidays and allowed our family to celebrate Christmas together. We enjoyed preparing meals in the beautiful kitchen that was well stocked with many of the staples for cooking, i.e...spices, flour, sugar etc... I highly recommend this property and look forward to our next visit to Durham!
We gave thanks at Thanksgiving
Linda the owner went above-and-beyond to help us all get ready to celebrate a family Thanksgiving in her home. With a total of eight people staying in the house - some from California, some from Iowa, and some from New York - we were able to feel as though we had all we needed to prepare and offer a real Thanksgiving to our Mom who is in a nearby retirement home.
Linda helped me determine all the kitchen utensils in the house so that no needs were left unmet and she was even bringing last-minute additions that she anticipated might be wanted. The house was perfect for all of us, with extraordinarily comfortable beds, clean and inviting sheets and bedding, and a plethora of extra, fluffy blankets and throws for added warmth.
All the instructions and guidance books were of great assistance to help us plan our local adventures and it was especially nice that there were places within the house that one could retreat to for occasional much-needed alone-time. With over-the-top enthusiasm for HayHouse, we are looking forward to returning for additional family gatherings in the future.
Linda has an amazing home. So warm and welcoming. Very organized. If you forgot she has it. Beautifully decorated. Great location for our wedding event in Durham. Very beautiful and friendly neighborhood. We will definitely recommend her home to anyone traveling to the Durham, Raleigh area. We will be sure to come back. Kathy her housekeeper was extremely friendly when she met us on our first day. Our 3 grandchildren 4, 2, and 7 months felt right at home.
Thanks for a great stay.
The McNulty & Tice Family
Linda was an exceptional host! Our family is looking forward to spending another weekend visiting Hannah at Duke!! Thank you, Linda!
What a pleasure it was to welcome the entire Rogers family (plus a few Duke friends) to Hay House! Loved seeing Ryan and the 'giraffe room." Thanks for leaving the house in spotless condition, too. Maybe when you return, we'll have the new patio and knot garden finished, too! Many hugs and much affection for you all!
Thought of everything!
If more owners were as conscientious as Linda there would never be any complaints! Delightful stay for the seven of us !!
So glad you were happy at Hay House - loved meeting your family for this happy event. It was a treat to host you and would welcome you back any time!
Extremely well appointed. Very comfortable and good location.
We would rate it 5 star, but since their were some issue with garage door and a/c for upper floor this prevented a 5 star rating. However, the owner was extremely helpful and corrected the issues promptly. One negative issue was the construction of a new house right across the street. Fortunately, we were gone most of the day and two of our four days were a weekend with no construction activity. The house was immaculate and had all the modern conveniences of a up-scale home. We certainly would rent there again!
Glad your enjoyed your stay, despite the unpredictable bumps! Thanks for being so gracious amid multiple problems. The garage door was fixed within a couple of hours and the AC guys diagnosed the problem the same day, but they couldn't replace the unit until Monday morning. As you know, I provided floor fans in addition to the ceiling fans for upstairs. Thank goodness it was a chilly weekend, so the air conditioning was not quite as crucial as it might have been during our recent 90-degree heat. But I know it can be humid without some kind of central air/heat. At least the downstairs unit was working well! I apologize for the inconvenience and want to assure you that everything is now in apple pie order again. I am a bit OCD about making sure things are fully functional - this weekend was just perfect storm of issues - so sorry about all of it! BTW the new house construction is nearly complete, too (also out of my control, but time-limited). Come back (in any weather, now that we're back to normal again). And we're putting in a expanded patio behind the new deck!
