Property is at a very good location for our family. Convenient to every place we needed to go.
When we arrived we were greeted with a plate of freshly baked chocolate chip cookies. The patio deck has a fantastic view of Pikes Peak. There are comfortable swing seats front and back of the house. There is ample seating, dishes, bedding towels, and a huge refrigerator and freezer. A very comfortable place to stay.
Excellent accommodations. Highly recommend
Felt right at home the minute the door was opened. Plate of cookies was a nice touch. The kitchen is well stocked. 2 blocks from grocery store. We cooked every night and loved it. Wifi & Netflix is a plus when there is downtime. If I could give it more stars I would.
Homey but needs some organization and deep cleaning
Carolyn was great to work with and promptly answered e-mailed questions. Nice touch with the homemade cookies. Working with the HomeAway was quite confusing. We did not receive the promised e-mail with the final information a week before check in. I had to log on to get the information. Instructions for opening the somewhat complicated door lock were not given on the site but were in the book in the house. Not much help when trying to get into the house.
A few things we noticed that need some work when having guests in a "lived in" home.
1. Bed sheets were wrinkled and extra pillows stored on the floor in closet? Hope they were all clean??? Bedspreads could use some updating.
2. Dishwasher was full of clean dishes which we had to unload before we could put in our dirty dishes.
3. There was a note asking us to check the sheets in the dryer to make sure they were dry - set for more time if not.
4. Some items in disrepair - loose towel racks, lights switch in master not working, white carpets needed cleaning, mop boards dusty and in need of a good cleaning, toilet on main floor was not flushing correctly, deck was nice but the back yard had trellis down on ground and needed some attention. The tree had grown too tall and blocked most of the mountain view from the deck.
5. Towels in bathroom cupboards appeared to be tossed in a disorganized manner.
6. We were attending a wedding and needed an iron. It was very difficult to find attached to the back of a bedroom door.
7. The home had 2 fireplaces but no instructions on how to use - gas appeared to be turned off. We did have some cool evenings and it would have been nice to have a fire.
We did enjoy our stay, were just somewhat disappointed in the cleanliness and organization of the home especially when a cleaning fee is charged.
Loved the house, felt like a home!
We came out to Colorado a few days ahead of our new USAFA Basic Cadet's I-Day. We had a lovely family vacation, staying in this house where every amenity seemed to be taken care of. The kitchen was fully stocked with every imaginable appliance, there was plenty of space for everyone to spread out and the views from the back deck of the mountains and bunnies was spectacular. Carolyn was very easy to communicate with and even left us cookies! We would certainly be happy to stay here again, which I think is the best thing I can say about this home.
House was clean and had everything we needed. Cookies were a nice touch. Carolyn was great to work with. The view from the back deck is amazing!
Great house and perfect location for USAFA Graduation. Fantastic view from the deck
Thanks Carolyn for renting the house for the USAFA graduation. The house was clean and had all the amenities we needed: kitchen with all the necessary utensils, plenty of towels and linens, huge fridge and freezer, gas grill and heater on the deck and a wonderful view that made watching the practicing Thunderbirds lots of fun.
