About John Breen

My wife and I fell in love with the west and the Aspen area nearly 45 years ago. We decided that we wanted a home there. Snowmass was just being developed and Jan personally scouted the vacant lots, one of which we purchased. We found a wonderful builder/designer and started a year and half construction project. Our son was in college and he and two friends dug out the river rock from the quarry over the summer break. In total there are 120 tons of rock in the fireplace. We had a professional install the rock and I have never seen a fireplace and archway like this. Please call us: 614/619-7111 John

We spent a week in this beautiful home, and enjoyed everyday of it. We were able to drive up the hills in the snow, the city cleaned the roads daily and we wanted for nothing. John was very accommodating and checked to make sure all our needs were met. The home was clean, spacious, and had all we needed after a day on the slopes or snowmobiling. The kitchen was stocked with all the spices we needed for cooking but just know if coming from Denver stop at the WalMart before you get to town because the local grocery store is a bit pricey and limited in selections. All and all we would and will return to this home.

At home amongst the Aspens

  • 5 of 5

Handcrafted construction in every room! Artistic wood detailing of the walls, ceilings, doors, door handles & counter tops is rustic yet elegant. The stones used for construction are boulders from local creek beds hand placed with incredible craftsmanship. They do not build them like this any more! If you want a warm, cozy, out of the way (yet accessible within minutes to world class skiing) where you can cook, relax & view the moon and stars through the skylights this IS THE PLACE! We'll be back for another relaxing stay.

Flawless hand-crafted retreat in the aspens

  • 5 of 5

Once again we have enjoyed our stay at this beautifully crafted home. It's a short drive from Snowmass Village, tucked away in the aspens, quiet and private yet proximal to everything. We've rented the home several times, now, sharing it with friends and the common-age kids on two occasions; the layout provides privacy for our families while several separate living areas, inside and outside, allow the kids to play in one part of the house while adults can assemble in others. The house in well maintained, with handmade doors and windows using exotic hardwoods are a unique detail found throughout the home. Our hosts are consistently gracious and accommodating. Thanks again for having us!

Perfect

  • 5 of 5

We have been lucky enough to stay here more than once over the years and cannot recommend it highly enough! This is a beautiful home with so many personal touches. It has obviously been well cared for and loved. The setting is breathtaking among the aspen trees, and the location is prime. Summer or winter, you'll find plenty to do close to home!

A true mountain retreat

  • 5 of 5

Wonderful location nestled in the Aspen trees. Such a unique home-every detail from the hand carved door latches to the magnificent Boulder fire place and the carved wood, sunken Master Bath tub with sky light. A true mountain retreat. So relaxing-loved every moment from BBQ on the deck to the quick trip to the ski hill.

Many thanks for a wonderful visit to Snowmass!
