About Pamela McCormick
My family have lived in the Leasburg area for the past 30 years. We own many rentals, with Cabin on the Lake is one of two cabins we have recently built as vacation rentals. We enjoy spending time participating in the many outdoor activities our local area is known for, including kayaking the nearby river.
Pamela McCormick purchased this Cabin in 2016
Why Pamela McCormick chose Bourbon
This property is located in a peaceful wooded area. The cabin was built by our father, and finished in August 2016. The fishing lake is man made, created many years ago. It offers fishing and nature watching. It has been in our family for 30 years.
What makes this Cabin unique
Visitors to Cabin on the Lake can expect a peaceful, serene visit. The surrounding woods offer a chance to watch the birds and squirrels play, and listen to the wind in the trees. The lake is great for fishing and a canoe is provided for their use. The back porch is great for watching the sun set over the lake, while preparing a meal on the provided BBQ grill.

Quiet retreat, great for the body and mind.
My hubby and I needed a couple of days to relax away from the craziness of everyday life. Cabin on the lake was exactly what we needed. No television. No internet. Just this sweet little cabin with fishing right off of the dock and cozy space for two people. The only complaint was that the shower door came off it’s hinges but it wasn’t really a problem! The owner was incredibly helpful and friendly. We will definitely stay here again!!
Just what we needed!
We were looking for something quiet away from everything that also didn't cost a fortune. This place was perfect. It was secluded enough, off a gravel long private drive. It was cozy and had enough supplies provided so that we didn't have to pack too much. There was toilet paper, a roll of paper towels, garbage bags, a few dishes and silverware, linens, pillows, a charcoal grill, some charcoal, and fire for the fire pit. It had a lot of cute decor, and the view off the porch was very nice. We did wish there were fishing pole holder and screens on the windows. We used the window air conditioner during the day but would have loved to open the windows at night and listen to our surroundings. Besides that we have no other suggestions. We did fish but didn't have much luck. There were tons of frogs, a snapping turtle, and a muskrat in the pond. We hiked nearby at Maramec Springs and did the Onondaga Cave tours (which I would suggest doing both) so we didn't have time to get on the canoe provided at the cabin. This was the perfect get away for us with our busy schedules. We especially loved having zero cell phone service, absolutely none. We went to Bourbon for service, groceries, dollar store, and gas station. Some roads in the area had better service than others. This was the trip we needed and were looking for. We will definitely be coming back if we get a chance to be in this area again. The owner, Pam, was easy to get ahold of and very wonderful! <3 This was a trip to remember for sure.

This was the perfect cabin for a relaxing and fun weekend. Quiet and secluded down a gravel road, but still close to floating, parks and restaurants if you want to go. The cabin was clean and had everything we needed. The host is quick to respond to any questions or messages, and is very nice. I can’t wait to stay here again!!
The cabin was clean, cozy, and comfortable.
I had a great time relaxing at the cabin! It was secluded and peaceful but close to parks and other attractions.
I loved seeing so much wildlife. In addition to other animal sightings, one morning I had two deer and one evening I had three baby raccoons. ❤️
I just loved being here and wasn’t ready to leave.
Thanks, Pam. Cozy Cabin is a lovely “home away”.
We were going to go camping, then the weather forecast was for temps in the 100's... didn't sound appealing to go camping any longer... At the last minute, I decide to try to find a cabin with AC. 2 or 3 days before our trip, I found the listing for Cozy Cabin on the Lake. It was available and we had a great time. Went to the very close rivers and creeks during the day to stay cool and back to the cabin in the evenings. The cabin was clean, comfortable and cool! Took the canoe provided out on the lake during the full moon evening, and it was spectacular with all the moon shadows. My cleaning deposit was returned just a couple of days after we left. We will be back to this cabin or may try one of the other listings for this owner.
Thank You So Much for Your Kind Words We are Glad You Enjoyed Your Stay
