About Pamela McCormick
My family have lived in the Leasburg area for the past 30 years. We own many rentals, with Cabin on the Lake is one of two cabins we have recently built as vacation rentals. We enjoy spending time participating in the many outdoor activities our local area is known for, including kayaking the nearby river.
Pamela McCormick purchased this Cabin in 2016
Why Pamela McCormick chose Bourbon
This property is located in a peaceful wooded area. The cabin was built by our father, and finished in August 2016. The fishing lake is man made, created many years ago. It offers fishing and nature watching. It has been in our family for 30 years.
What makes this Cabin unique
Visitors to Cabin on the Lake can expect a peaceful, serene visit. The surrounding woods offer a chance to watch the birds and squirrels play, and listen to the wind in the trees. The lake is great for fishing and a canoe is provided for their use. The back porch is great for watching the sun set over the lake, while preparing a meal on the provided BBQ grill.

Was a great getaway for my husband and me!
Cozy for sure!
This cabin was perfect for our fall weekend getaway! From beginning to end our stay was a delight. The directions sent were clear, easy and correct which was a definite plus since our late start had us getting in at 2:30 am (check in/out were super easy and flexible). The accommodations gave the perfect ambiance for our time in the woods away from the city. We especially were fond of the gas fireplace which was a pleasant surprise for the chilly weekend and did a very good job of warming the cabin. The personalized playing cards were also a hit. We were able to get cell phone service (Sprint). Because of the weather and our short time there, we did not get to enjoy the canoe or firepit...had to leave something for next time! We hope to be back and make this our base for another trip to the Ozarks.
Very rustic and enjoyable
Had a great time
Glad to hear you enjoyed your stay. We want visitors to relax and have fun!
The cabin is away from the chaos of life -- no cell signal, which was just what I needed. We had a great time at it. It is close to many public park and conservation areas. The owner was responsive when I contacted her. The window air conditioner struggled to keep the room comfortable on a day in the low 90s.
Thank you so much for letting us know about the AC! It's the only way we can know how to improve our service to make sure guests have a good experience. We have installed a new AC unit in this cabin, so the place will remain comfy cool to relax after a day in the outdoors.
Perfect rustic escape!
What a gem hidden off the beaten path! We were so happy with this cabin. The pictures do not do justice to how beautiful the lake is while sitting on the back porch! Completely secluded and quiet- we enjoyed a weekend of much needed time to connect and unwind. The cabin is small, but cozy. We enjoyed watching the stars and paddling the canoe. It's close to all the major Huzzah and Upper Meramec floats, so plenty of activities to do nearby. We will definitely be returning soon!
We are So Happy You Enjoyed Yourself! We love to have visitors spend time on our lake and connect with nature. Getting away the chaos of everyday life is what we want our guests to experience.
My fiance and I were looking for a secluded cabin "away from it all" and this rental property was exactly what I was hoping for. The cabin itself was clean and well kept. The deck is right on the pond, which was really great for relaxing and fishing. We caught quite a few bluegill just off the deck. There was a canoe available, but it rained during the weekend we stayed here so we didn't get a chance to use it. There were even more amenities than were listed, there was silverware and dishware along with two camping chairs. Pam, the owner, was very kind and accommodating. There is no wifi or cell service in this area, which was a plus for me. Overall, wonderful stay and would love to visit again!
Thank You So much. We are glad you had a good time. Come back again and try the canoe, The fish are waiting!
