About Samantha Dutton
We have been married for eleven years and have 4 children between us. Although we were previously married to other people, we attended prom together in high school. We lost track of each other until about 2003. We've been together since. I just retired from the Air Force and we decided to move to the mountains of east TN. Once we arrived, we decided that we weren't quite ready to retire. We travel quite a bit and thought how wonderful it would be to share our beautiful home with others.
Samantha Dutton purchased this Cabin in 2014
Why Samantha Dutton chose Marion County
We found this property purely by chance. We were looking for property in nearby Chattanooga and decided to drive out to Marion County. We were only looking at raw land to build our home. We were not looking to buy already developed property. As soon as we drove up the driveway, we knew this was it. The rest is history.
What makes this Cabin unique
It was definitely the views! Also, the previous owner's last name started with a D and there is a D in the slate floor and on the front gates. We thought it was a sign, so we dove right in.

Beautiful and peaceful!
We really enjoyed our stay! The property was great, we caught a lot of fish in the ponds, bbq on the back deck, and enjoyed lounging around inside! We traveled to Chattanooga one day to see the aquarium and the bridge downtown and then Nashville to experience the good food and entertainment! The guys fished Nickajack Lake everyday and we even got to see the bat cave one evening! Overall great vacation and we plan to go back!
Great place for relaxing!
Loved the cabin, location and view! Unfortunately it rained most nights so we couldn't enjoy the deck but the gas fireplace is a nice touch! LOVED the fishing pond- wish I would've brought my rod and some bait. Enough rooms for the whole family and the kitchen has everything you would need. It is about 45-50 minutes from Chattanooga but overall isn't a difficult commute. While you're there you must do raccoon moutain caverns and eat at Mojo burrito.
Loved our time on the mountain.
We really enjoyed our time in the Mountain Cabin. The multiple decks were great and the views stunning. The inside was lovely and spacious. The bedrooms were beautiful. Would love to go back some day and spend a little more time outside exploring the property.
Amazing weekend getaway!!
What an amazing find this place was! So quiet and so peaceful. The views are breathtaking. We loved staying here and hope to come back soon!
Great view! Cute interior! Fire place!
This place was out in the middle of no where, and it was great. We accidentally went during the National Corn Bread festival of South Pittsburg. (Which was cool). Went to Lovers Leap that was about 20 minutes away.
There is an awesome black and white cat there that lives outside, but he will come around if you call him. we ended up calling him Oreo and buying him some treats. He was my boyfriends buddy while fishing in their pond. Heck, we might just go back to see Oreo.
Jeff (the grounds keeper) is a good ol’ boy too. He chatted Drew while he was fishing too.
Only complaint, could use some kind of shade out on the decks, or maybe a hot tub. Otherwise great place if you are looking for a getaway away from everyone.
Wonderful cozy house, with an amazing view. We had difficulty getting on the wifi, which really was our only issue. Cable TV worked great though. Everything else was ideal. Thanks for a great stay.
Thanks for the review. So glad you enjoyed yourselves. We do occasionally have some issues with Wi-Fi, due to our remoteness and relying on cellular connections. I hope you will stay again!
