Ron and Pearl, Thank you so much for sharing your little piece of heaven with us. It was an awesome place for us as a family to celebrate Greg’s parents 50th Wedding Anniversary. Everyone enjoyed the cabin and the beautiful surroundings. While Greg was out fishing one day he was blessed to see six deer walk through the woods! I can not express to you how much we appreciate your kindness. Many wonderful memories were made here. May God richly bless you as you serve Him. Love, Greg, Reeny, Morgan, Marc & Andi
The cabin was phenomenal. The driveway was a bit of a challenge for us, but we made it! The cabin was well furnished and clean and the hot tub was warm. We vacationed for the weekend with our seven children ages 11-25. There was something for everyone and there was never a dull moment. The game room was awesome. We played pool, foosball, cards, board games and retro video games like pacman. The weather was cold and rainy so we spent most of our time in the cabin. The view was beautiful. I loved that the kitchen even had a griddle so cooking pancakes for the family was a breeze. I was surprised by the extras like hot chocolate and coffee packets to get us started. The gas fireplaces did a great job of keeping us warm with the flip of a switch. The owners were easily reachable by phone, thank goodness, since part of the instructions we printed were cut off. In hindsight, out maps app would have brought us there. We would love to come in warmer weather when we can enjoy the creek and tubing.
We loved it! We joined our adults kids from Alabama, Tennessee and Virginia along with our grandkids for our Christmas celebration together this year in October. Pearl was such a dear to have s Christmas tree up for us!
I do have to say the driveway was a bit of a challenge to us but learned if you back up the hill in your front wheel drive vehicles you will not spin out.
We also were startled at the sulfur smell of the water but it tasted fine.
Hot tub was a teal treat! The fire pit was a great experience. To hear the rushing water, a fire crackling and wind blowing among the lovely chatter and banter between my family was the real gift. Seeing your family photos around the house told me you know how special these times can be. Thank you Ron and Pearl for sharing your house
The cabin was very comfortable, plenty of room, with lots of fun stuff for the kids to do. We loved to sit on the front porch. The only reason I didn't give it 5 stars is because the water in the cabin had a very strong sulfur smell, enough that we had to buy bottled water to use. Overall though, great cabin, and we really enjoyed the river.
It is a terrific house in a great location. The three decks provide wonderful views of the Toccoa River. There is plenty of room for four couples. River access for fishing and tubing is right out the door. The only negative is that the water system needs upgrading as the sulphur water is somewhat overwhelming. The owners are friendly and helpful.
This was our third visit to The Pearl. It is such a lovely retreat from the heat and hustle-bustle of every day life. Once nestled on the porch, looking out at the river, enjoying the visiting hummingbirds and feeling the stress drip away, one can only long for the memory to last for another year. Each moment on the river is unique and worth treasuring.
There were a few minor housekeeping issues that we addressed with the owners directly. They were responsive and I'm confident that they will not happen again in the future.
Thank you, Ron and Pearl, for sharing your lovely home. It's hard to imagine any other means that we would have to enjoy this spectacular setting without personal ownership. I hope you enjoy your time there as much as we do.
We had a great time there. This was the first time we stayed at the same place twice. The cabin is spacious and everyone has enough room. The game room is great and I liked the arcade games that were new for us. The only problem I had this time was no propane for the grill. Other than that our stay was without complaints. Ron and Pearl are very nice and easy to deal with. We look forward to returning in the future.
