The cozy log cabin at Mayberry is surrounded by 16 acres just steps from the Blue Ridge Parkway. The log cabin dates back to the mid 1800's with the original stone fireplace. The Inside offers tasteful and modern accommodations. The new bathroom , and kingsize bed all help to create a wonderful experience. This property offers a couple a romantic get-away. Or if you prefer the outdoors you can sit on the private stone covered patio with a glass of wine, enjoy the mountain view our horses are grazing feet away! Paddle the lake in our canoe. Walk one of our trails, and build a bonfire in one of our 2 fire pits!! there is a pond for canoeing and fishing, and plenty of room to hike some trails. With pastoral mountain views and horses grazing steps away from your window. Nearby there are sites to explore along the parkway like Chateau Morrisette Winery, Mayberry Mill , and the town of Floyd.

Beautiful place and very nice owner
Hope you can return!
Penny and her husband were very nice and treated us like they had known us forever. Very quiet and comfortable stay.
Hope to see you again!
Cozy, comfortable and peaceful
We loved our stay in Penny's cabin. It was very cozy and comfortable (we particularly liked the huge bed and various Scandinavian design touches). Muffins and fruit for breakfast was a nice touch. The cabin is in a beautiful and peaceful area and had everything we needed after a day exploring the local hikes. Penny was a friendly, helpful and thoughtful host. We also had great fun with her lovely dogs! If we're ever back in the area we'd definitely stay again. Thank you!
Great view but a little strange
The positive comments we read before booking this cabin were true. Jerry was very hospitable; the property is breathtakingly beautiful and it is very close to the Blue Ridge Parkway. But why did no one mention that the bathroom had no door, the refrigerator was very small and the only dishes provided were a two cups and saucers and one spoon? Jerry gave us two bowls and two spoons when asked for them. Since we did not want to drive several miles for all three meals, we had brought cereal, yogurt and milk for breakfast. Two last things, the flowers Penny (who was away on business) had planted were beautiful! Their dog Max was very friendly and a wonderful walking companion.
Sorry you were expecting to do more cooking. The Log Cabin is not set up for a kitchen. Jerry would have been more then happy to get whatever utinsels you needed to function.
A Log Cabin to Remember!!
Last week we stayed in Jerry and Penny's cabin at Meadows of Dan and we had a wonderful time. Jerry was a very good host and very friendly too. The cabin was clean and Jerry even had a fire going in the fireplace for us when we arrived. I would highly recommend staying at this cabin for a nice romantic getaway with your wife. We are already planning our next stay in the cabin.
Beautiful views and Log cabin!
The log cabin was beautiful and very cozy! We greatly enjoyed our weekend stay here, site seeing, adventuring in Floyd and around the area. Highly recommended!
