About Jeff Beeman

About us - Your host Jeffrey Beeman

I've owned my Casita de Chuparosa B & B style Vacation home for 12 ½ years (Since Jan 2005 with over 350 reviews here on VRBO). I love meeting all the wonderful guests who have stayed here, so many repeat guests return year after year, and many are now very close friends.

I'm an animal lover, I have a horse, 3 Mini donkeys, Llama and 2 alpacas. Corgi and Terrier. Also an avid hiker, mountain bike rider, healthy vegan and love traveling to Panama frequently, hoping to build a Eco friendly , Off Grid, Vegan Bed and Breakfast there. within the next few years.

Moved to Abiquiu 13 years ago after living in Santa Fe for 3 years, Moved to New Mexico from San Francisco 15 years ago, I lived there for 10 years, several years on my sailboat at the San Francisco Marina and also in Sausalito. I also lived at the Sea Ranch on the Sonoma Coast (owned & operated a Kayak Tour, Rental & Outiftters shop) for 10 years and Santa Barbara for 10 years. I'm available as a hiking or area guide on foot, car or horseback!

I caretake for my Mother Marilyn here next to Casita de Chuparosa, she's in her 80's and she keeps all the bird feeders and water bowls filled in the front court yard year-round at Casita de Chuparosa, 1000's of birds visit every day. We live next door to Casita de Chuparosa in our main house and keep a very low profile and are only around when you need anything/anytime. If you do want to chat, we love to meet our guests and can provide you will anything you would like to know about and see and do in Abiquiu and for those thinking about moving to Abiquiu, we can tell you all the ins and outs, pros and cons, what it's like to live here!

Everyone is welcome at Casita de Chuparosa!

Jeff Beeman purchased this house in 2006

Why Jeff Beeman chose New Mexico

I decided I wanted more wide open space and discovered Abiquiu! I bought my Northern New Mexico style Pitched Tin Roof home in Abiquiu, January 2005. I remodeled the North Wing of the home and converted it to a Vacation Rental Casita. My occupancy rate has been 90%-100% each month ever since! I enjoy the company of my Paint Horse "Buster", the 3 mini Sicilian Donkeys 'Shawnee', 'Sunny' and 'Lolita'. (They stand only 3 feet high) Llama - Cinder and Alpacas Forest and Copper. In addition to Cardigan Corgi named 'Soloman - a.k.a. 'Sully' and mini Tibetan terrier named Minnie. And precious cats 'Bibi' and 'Chumley'. For those of your with allergies, the Horse, Donke, Alpaca and Llama Barn is located downwind 1000 feet from the Casita. My friendly dogs are only allowed in the common areas if invited by the guests. We are all quiet and keep a very low profile and are around only when you need us.

I enjoy meeting the wonderful people that have visited and many that have revisited from all around the country and some from other countries that have stayed at my Casita de Chuparosa here in Abiquiu!

I look forward to your stay!

Jeff

Beautiful casita!

  • 5 of 5

What a fantastic place! The views are amazing from this casita and Jeff was a fantastic host. Our kids loved feeding the donkeys and seeing the other animals, including dozens of humming birds right outside the front door.

The casita was beautifully decorated in a southwest style. I loved the art work in particular. The kitchen was fully stocked with every possible combination of breakfast treats, which made life easier. And Jeff had copious notes and instructions on how things worked which was very helpful. We used the casita as a base for various hikes, including at Plaza Blanca and Ghost Ranch both of which were amazing.

The only disappointment was that the hot tub stopped working the morning we arrived - as it was July 4 weekend he wasn't able to get it repaired immediately. Jeff was very apologetic and even paid for a meal out for the whole family as compensation for us. Great service.

If we are back in the Abiqui area I'd definitely return to Casita Chuparosa.

Home away from home

  • 5 of 5

Abiquiu is a wonderful kept secret and Jeff's casita is a perfect place to discover it. My family of 5 had plenty of room and enjoyed the hiking, hummingbirds, hot tub, and the animals. The best part is the wonderful hospitality of Jeff. We felt like we were staying with a family friend.

Outstanding...We were so sad to leave...

  • 5 of 5

Let me just assure you, if you are considering a getaway in the area of Abiquiu, New Mexico, you cannot go wrong with the Casita De Chuparosa. My husband and I took our 8 year old granddaughter with us on our 4 night getaway to Northern New Mexico. We looked at every available accommodation and spent days weighing the pros and cons of each one. This casita fit the bill in every way. Gorgeous views from every angle of the property, very easy access from Hwy 84, a well-stocked general store very near, and all the most beautiful and interesting sights in this region are very accessible. You will LOVE the way the owner has gone above and beyond to decorate this home in lovely southwestern style and every need that might have arisen was so thoughtfully attended to. Our little granddaughter loved being able to feed and interact with the horse, donkeys, alpacas and llama! Being vegan ourselves, it was a wonderful surprise that the owner was, too. Although he usually provides standard breakfast items for his guests, he was kind enough to provide us with vegan breakfast items which we so appreciated! In short, there was literally nothing that we would have changed or that was lacking in our stay. Jeff is so kind and laid back and fun to visit with and really goes the extra mile to make your time in this incredible part of the country memorable. There's definitely a reason why the ratings are so high for the Casita De Chuparosa! Thanks, Jeff!! We hope we all meet up again one day soon!

Truly an Enchanting Visit!

  • 5 of 5

We thoroughly enjoyed our time at Jeff's charming casita! It was a lovely time for us in a very enchanting spot just above the Chama R. We loved that everything and more was taken care of for us down to the most minute detail. Jeff was a most gracious host and we hope to visit w/ him again in the next time we are in central NM. A joyous place!

Peaceful and Serene Get Away

  • 5 of 5

Casita de Chuparosa is a jewel set in a stunning landscape. Made all the more special by your host. The perfect antidote when the world becomes too hectic and chaotic. The two bedroom attached casita is well appointed with a fully stocked kitchen and comfortable sitting areas. Each window and both outside seating areas offer a beautiful vista. The area is very quiet, the skies are magical both by day and night. There is a lot of hiking and just walking in the area. There are mini burros and a horse to pet and pamper, as well as many bird antics to watch. The proprietor, Jeff, is welcoming and attentive, a font of information and works very hard to cater to each guest and make each visit special. The hospitality is unmatched in my experience of travel. Sitting in the hot tub under the Milky Way watching a meteor shower and later a moonrise is one of the memories I hope to always carry with me.
