The apartment is in San Terenzo di Lerici, a serene small seaside village located on the south-side of the Gulf of La Spezia, also known as the Gulf of Poets. The apartment is located in a historic vernacular Ligurian palazzo in the center of town, a two minute walk to the sea,the marina and medieval castle, shops, and restaurants. Five can comfortably sleep in the spacious accommodations that include a large bedroom, a large living/dining space with fold out beds, a full bathroom, a full kitchen, and balcony looking out over a courtyard and garden. Past inhabitants drawn to this romantic coastal environment include Dante, Lord Byron, Shelley (whose house is just around the corner), D.H. Lawrence, Erza Pound, Pasolini, and many others. Each were influenced by the natural splendor of the gulf which is expressed in their artistic works. San Terenzo is also an excellent location for travel itineraries to the Cinque Terre and Portofino, and to Lucca, Pisa, and Florence in Tuscany.
We had a great time in San Terenzo. What a beautiful (small) village! Nice people, good food and a lovely beach (especially with smal(ler) children). The appartment is nice and comfortable and just a few steps away from the sea, perfect! This was our first time here, but we're hoping to stay here again in the future!

If you want to explore the south of Liguria, like Cinque Terre, or the north part of Toscana - San Terenzo may be the place to have your "bacecamp". San Terenzo is a small, charmy town, with friendly people and without stress and noise. The coastline is amazing - and the houses with all the bright colores are kind of pittoresk. If you love seafood, this is defenetly a place to go, and of course you get the world best icecream here as well (Sicilian homemade) at the Gelateria, La Rana Golosa. From San Terenzo It`s also easy to get around both by bus, train, boat. If you want to walk, the town Lerici is just short walk from San Terenzo.
I was really happy to spend my two weeks at Carlas appartment, and I can recommend it to everyone. Waking up early, having my morning coofee at the small balcony. Then just a few steps, and you`re at the local beach. The appartment was clean, enough space, and all you needed is in place. When I arrived it was toilet paper in the bathroom (so I did not have to go out for stuff like this and alike), the shower was functioning really good (other places I`ve stayed thers sometimes not enough water or it`s cold). If I had any questions etc, Carla would be happy to help out.
The reason my rate misses a star for full score is because I`ve travelled a lot in Italia - and been spoiled when it comes to "dream beaches" (spes. in south of Italia), so - if you want to explore Liguria, I could recommend San Terenzo and Carlas appartment for sure! And if I decide to get back to this part of Italia, I would be happy if this appartment is available :)
I had a wonderful time in the "Gulf of Poets" as the area around San Terenzo is known. The town of San Terenzo itself is a beautiful small Italian fishing village in the Gulf of La Speiza. Everything is walking distance in San Terenzo, there are many little restaurants and lots of shopping opportunities. The apartment was great, everything you need and quite comfortable. If the beach and water is your thing, this apartment is for you. It is a 30 second walk from the front door to the shore. From San Terenzo you have access to many other places of interest. On the bus you can get to La Speiza in 15 minutes and from there you can access the rest of Liguria and Tuscany and Cinque Terre by train (both hi speed and local). A short walk along the waterfront brings you to Lerici with great restaurants and more shopping. From Lerici there is easy access via ferry boat to Porto Venere, and the entire Cinque Terre, from Riomaggiore up to Monterosso. The whole area is just beautiful and I plan to return and spend more time. Thank you Carla for the great accommodations and recommendations for great food and activities.
San Terenzo was one of my favorite places in Italy. This apartment is in the heart of San Terenzo with easy walks to the sea, restaurants, bars. The apartment is comfortable and easy to find. I have stayed there twice and hope to return again. The owner lives nearby and is friendly and helpful.

There are several medieval local hilltowns very close to San Terenzo; Trebbiano, Arcola, Ameglia, Montemarcello, and La Serra. Several can be reached by walking. Also recommended is the Roman archeological excavations of Luni which includes the remains of the amphitheatre. The larger town of Sarzana and the city La Spezia offer upscale shopping and are easily accesable by local buses.
