Beautiful lakefront home with everything you need for a great vacation with family and friends: plenty of space inside and outside, a gently sloping lot with a concrete path to a one-slip covered dock, a great location on a sheltered cove and cul-de-sac street in Deerfield Resort, and a captivating view of the lake and Chuck Swan Wildlife Area.
This non-smoking, two-level open concept home offers 3800 square feet including 4 bedrooms (each with a lake view), 3 full & 2 half baths, 2 great rooms with gas fireplaces, fully-equipped, spacious open kitchen and large dining area for your gatherings, wraparound porch and deck to enjoy wooded views on one side and spectacular lake views on the other. The main living level features a wall of windows facing the lake and an elevated, open air, covered patio with ceiling fans and lights for viewing the lake. The lower level has a screened in porch with ceiling fans and lights, table & chairs and an equally beautiful view of the lake. We have an exceptional 450 square foot flagstone firepit area within just a few feet of the water.
Enjoy boating, fishing, and the amenities of Deerfield Resort including golfing, community pool and tennis. Take advantage of proximity to the events, shopping and attractions of Knoxville and Gatlinburg. The Smoky Mountains National Park is an easy day-trip away.
Location: Waterfront home on a quiet cul-de-sac in Deerfield Resort. Lot is on a sheltered cove within view of the main channel, great for swimming and floating. Note that if you look at the map in satellite view - this is showing winter water levels which is why all the docks are close together. In the summer - the water level is up about 20' more - covering the bare earth you see in satellite view - providing ample room for docks, boats and swimming. The photos of our property shown on this site - are taken in summer when the lake is allowed to fill to "Full Pool".
Dock: Concrete path with gentle slope leads to the home’s covered dock with boat slip & swim ladder. Launch your boat or jet-ski at Deerfield Marina, which is about 5 minutes away by water, 3.2 miles by land.
Decks and patios: Home features a wraparound porch on the main level. You’ll spend a lot of time on the covered elevated back deck with an amazing view of the lake and wildlife area. Watch the neighborhood deer roaming freely in the yard below. This deck features rocking chairs, gas grill, large teak cooler, dining area with two tables, lights and ceiling fans. The lower-level screened-in porch also provides an equally amazing lake view, and offers a table and chairs, lights and ceiling fans. There’s also a covered front porch with chairs. Down by the water is a 450 sq. ft. fire pit area with high top table with chairs, fire pit and additional chairs. More seating on the dock.
Kitchen: Updated kitchen with gas cooktop, bake/convection wall oven, built-in microwave, large refrigerator with ice maker, dishwasher, stainless-steel sink and large pantry. Equipped with plates, silverware, utensils, glasses, pots/pans/bakeware, coffeemaker, toaster, blender and crockpot.
Dining: Seating for 8 at large dining table; open kitchen/dining area looks out to lake view. Additional seating for 4 at kitchen breakfast bar & 4 more at the High Top bar table that sits between the dining table and greatroom area.
Living/Entertainment: Great rooms on both main and lower levels, 55" Samsung 4K Smart TV on upper level and 50” Samsung 4K Smart TV on lower level. Gas-log fireplace on both levels. Lower-level great room features wet bar with sink and under-counter refrigerator. FREE DirectTV, Internet with Wi-Fi, and local/long distance calls. Our Wi-Fi signal is excellent throughout the house and extends all the way down to the dock! There are two more TV's in the lower level great room for gaming (bring your xbox or gaming console of choice). These two gaming TV's can easily be moved to a bedroom for gaming if you choose. There is a ½ bath directly adjacent to each great room.
Bedrooms/Bathrooms: Main level - King master bed/bath suite with both a stand up shower and separate jetted soaking tub and dual sink vanity. Also on the first level is a guest half bath.
Lower level - Queen master bed/bath suite with futon/daybed, This second Master Bathroom features both a stand up shower and a tub/shower combo with dual vanity. Two additional lower-level bedrooms, one with a Queen bed, and one with Queen bed and Twin Bunk beds. There is an additional full bathroom with dual vanity, tub/shower combo directly across from these two lower level bedrooms.
Water Fun: 2 kayaks, and flotation toys (noodles) available for guest use. Our Dock is located at the furthest point in on the cove so NO Boats will ever be zooming past your children as they swim. It’s the perfect spot to enjoy swimming/floating and the views of the deep water main channel while being out of the boat and jet ski traffic. Our dock features 1 covered boat slip (that you may use) and a 10’ x 32’ lounging/sunbathing area with ladder for easy access to the water. We've had up to 3 boats at our dock - but do not recommend more than 2 since we have the one covered boat slip and also 2 jet ski lifts on one of the two sides.
Unlike any other rental areas - as a guest at Deerfield Resort – you have access to an amazing golf course with lake views as you golf, a small swimming pool, tennis courts, a sand volleyball court, a playground area with swings/climbing apparatus, and the infamous Tiki Bar Restaurant at Deerfield Marina (3.2 miles from the house). If you enjoy a morning walk – you’ll frequently see many deer and squirrels and possibly the shy fox as you walk the quiet wooded streets with lake views.
There are several Marinas offering boat rental within 10 miles of the lakehouse – we recommend “Springs Dock” Marina due to proximity (6.5 miles by road) - Shanghai Marina is not much further and offers great water toys as well.. If you are bringing your own boat – the Deerfield Marina has a boat launch ramp and is only 3.2 miles from the lake house. There is ample room in our lakehouse’s gently sloped driveway to park a trailer plus at least 5-6 cars – no need to pay additional trailer parking fees.
Renters must be age 25 or older and provide drivers license I.D. – we encourage you to enjoy our home and lake to the fullest with the understanding that this is a family residential neighborhood with many full time residents. Late night wild parties will not be tolerated.
All rentals are to families and responsible adults only. No high school, college or civic groups, chaperoned or not, are permitted.

About Mike and Wendy Killin
We are Wendy and Mike Killin. We live in Franklin, Ohio and both work in Dayton. We've been visiting Norris Lake for several years and now have found a home to call our own - and share with you. We have 5 children between us and hope to spend many weekends here during the spring and fall with our children and grand children. This photo was taken at McCloud Mountain - about 40 minutes from our home. There is a restaurant at this mountain for Dining with SPECTACULAR views!
Mike and Wendy Killin purchased this House in 2016
Why Mike and Wendy Killin chose La Follette
Nothing Beats Norris Lake living - this will become our retirement home - hopefully in 4-5 years. This amazing house sits at the perfect angle to the lake to view the lake and Chuck Swan Wildlife area directly across the lake. Its the perfect location for floating in the water with your favorite beverage. Our dock sits the furthest into the cove - so you can see the boats on the main channel - but they never come close to our dock making it perfect for floating with your family and kids.

Wonderful house, very comfortable and well equipped. Screened in porch below deck was great, and we usually ate breakfast on the deck. Easy access to dock and very nice fire pit/patio area.
Thank you Mike - we enjoyed having you as a guest! Your welcome back anytime.
We've been staying at Norris for over fifteen years and Killin Time ranks in the top 3 if not #1 in our minds. Great location, overall beautiful home, gradual walk to the dock/lake, plenty of space for 3 families, no spare of kitchen items, excellent views with 2 great decks (covered deck was a plus), other personal amenities that most homes have not offered in the past. . . . air compressor, storage cart, paddle boats, etc. Beautiful street for walks/runs. On top of it all the owners were a pleasure to work with and very responsive. We'll be back!
Thank you Tim! We enjoyed having you stay at Killin-Time @ the Lake! We do strive to provide everything necessary to have a great vacation. For clarification to future potential guests - I believe you meant "No Shortage of Kitchen items". Your familes are welcome back anytime!
Great Family Location
We had a great time at here. Plenty of room for everyone. The house is clean with large full restrooms. Dock facilities work good even with multiple boats. The location is great to go day trips and see al ot of the lake
Thanks for Staying @ Killin-Time @ the lake! We hope to move the Jet ski lifts to the narrow side of the dock next year to make it even it even easier for those that want to bring 2 boats!
Awesome Family home
My family and extended family enjoyed our stay immensely. The main floor sets up perfectly for family interaction and easy meals. The patios are perfect and the dock is great to house the boat in. Golf was very close to the property and we visited and ate at many of the marinas! Overall, the property was great and has everything you need to give you a taste of what Norris is all about!
Thanks for Staying @ Killin-Time @ the lake! We hope you can enjoy our home again in the future!
Our group of long term friends and our young children recently stayed at Killin Time over the New Year's holiday weekend. Our group has been vacationing together for years, and have stayed at numerous rental homes. Although we have stayed at some very nice places, this house is the first that we have all agreed we would come back to.
The home is spacious, comfortable, and it is clear that the owners are detail oriented and truly care that their renters have everything they need to relax and have fun. There was an issue with the furnace the first night we were there, and Mike had it fixed right away. The kitchen is well stocked for cooking, there is a cabinet full of games, a nice sound system, and they even had kayaks and a paddle boat we could use had it not been too cold to use them. Our kids enjoyed the foozeball table, ample space to run around, and riding bikes in the quiet cul de sac just down the road. Sadly, it was winter, so we were unable to take full advantage of the lake, but we were hoping for a winter retreat in a beautiful location, and we got it. I will say that if you get carsick, like me, be prepared for about an hour of very windy roads once you get off the highway. And, if you visit in winter, be prepared that Lafollette is the closest place for supplies, and it is a good 30 minutes away.
Overall, we were all very impressed and happy at this location, and we are hoping to come back this summer.
Thanks Leanne - were very happy that your family and friend enjoyed our home! Wendy and I really do take great pride in making this home something that everyone can enjoy! We were mortified when you called with the information that the furnace was making a banging noise - but relieved when within 3-4 hours - the furnace company had fixed it!
For Future Guests - note there are two routes to our house. One route definitely is about an hour of winding roads, the other route is just a little more highway and cuts the winding roads down to about a 25 minute trip.
We look forward to having you as guests again! Summer and early Fall are amazing times at the lake. Late spring certainly isn't bad either with the great fishing! As you experienced - Winter at the lake sure can be relaxing too!

Lake Norris home rental
This home really has the "WOW" factor going for it. My husband and I spent several days there with our adult kids. Lots of room to move around, the amenities are outstanding. Very clean and comfortable. Outside the view is gorgeous, looking out on lake, very private, with the many trees edging property. Lots to do in the area, from various marinas to sightseeing. Grocery store and lots of different stores to check out in town. We brought our boat, private dock to use. Everyone was extremely pleased with the whole vacation and we will definitely be returning.
Were glad you enjoyed your stay at "Killin Time @ the lake"! We hear you caught some nice fish during your stay too! Thanks for taking good care of our home during you stay.
