Welcome in the heart of Provence, in a green setting, 5 min from the town centre of Aix-en-Provence. Old stones and authenticity lovers must come discover this place that will seduce you with its character and its simplicity.
“Le Four des Banes” is a country farmhouse that was probably built in the 18th century, on the ruins of an older construction that housed an authentic Roman oven dating from the 2nd century.
The old oven has been preserved and constitutes the curiosity of this convivial and authentic place.
If you are not familiar with the principle of a B&B, each bedroom is independant with a private entrance and can host 2 persons at a time.
Each bedroom can be rented at a time, or all of them can be rented by a family or a group of friends for vacations or special events.
The farmhouse is located 3 km away from the town centre of Aix-en-Provence, in the countryside but close to the main roads. It is at the centre of the roads leading to the Alpilles in the Verdon or the Lubéron and not far away from the first paths leading to Sainte-Victoire Mountain.
Style and choice of items is sober, mix of wood, wrought iron and old stones, here, everything has been designed to bring comfort and warmth.
The main room is bathed in light thanks to its large openings and invites guests to spend some moments of tranquillity and privacy.
The kitchen houses the old oven, it’s the main room of the house where the guests can relax and have breakfast.
From May to September, pool and sunbeds wait for the sun and farniente lovers. Garden furniture is also at your disposal to comfortably end the day.
If you want culture, need nature or if you’re searching for a gourmet getaway, choose Aix-en-Provence and stop at “Four des Banes”.
My 3 girlfriends and I stayed at Laurence Biancotto's B&B Le Four des Banes recently for my birthday trip. I don't believe I've ever had such a wonderful stay anywhere. First of all, Laurence is a wonderful host. She provided us with the most spectacular breakfast each morning and spent time talking with us and helping us with our plans for the day. She was available for anything we needed during our 5 day stay. The B&B was beautiful, comfortable and immaculate. I highly recommend anyone traveling to Aix to stay here. It is a short distance into town and the bus stop is right at the top of her drive...couldn't be more convenient. If I ever get the opportunity to return to Provence, i will stay at Laurence's B&B!
Laurence's Bed and Breakfast was the perfect place to stay during our trip to Provence! It was charming and centrally located to all we wanted to do. Laurence was a fabulous host and took the time each morning to help us map out our itinerary and gave helpful suggestions as to the most scenic roads and additional add on's we could fit into our day. Laurence provided us with a delicious breakfast each morning and was available for any needs we had throughout our stay. The Bed and Breakfast itself was clean, spacious, comfortable, well appointed, nicely landscaped and had a lovely pool for a mid-day cool off. I stayed with my husband and 14 year old daughter and we all enjoyed our stay and would absolutely stay here again. I highly recommend it to all who are staying in the area.
We booked two rooms in the B&B and stayed there for two nights. The B&B was super clean, well equipped and had a pleasant charm of a farm house. The breakfast was also good. Lawrence was a great host. She accommodated all our needs including late check-in, allowing us to use the kitchen, and helping us with the luggage. She also provided us sightseeing tips of the area.
The challenging part for me was the narrow track that leads to the B&B. It took some practice to get use to it.
The most relaxing and beautiful place in Aix en Provence. Beyond your expectations. Great location , amazing rooms with modern bathroom and every details en decor has been taking care. Great taste , really feel in Provence. But the best of this paradise is the owner Laurence . From the best breakfast in French style to the setting of the table. I really recommend this place for people who like to enjoy the best in accommodation and in service. Her advise in places to go where the best. Thanks Laurence for a great time you provide us and my family. I will be back .
My husband, teenage daughter and I recently enjoyed 3 nights with Laurence at her beautiful b&b. She has done an excellent job of renovating the property (check out her photo album of the construction), and she is now the proud owner of a delightful bed and breakfast that we plan to return to again and again. As the other reviewers have mentioned, the rooms are tastefully decorated (we stayed in the Chambre Sainte Victoire, which was very large and comfortably fit the 3 of us); the breakfasts are perfect with cheese, bread, cereal, yogurt, specialties of the area, fruit, served outside on the patio; and the hostess, Laurence, is so warm, welcoming and ready to chat about the area and her recommendations. We had so much fun enjoying our day-trips to see the lavender, and then returning for an hour or two by the pool before dressing for dinner in Aix. We highly recommend Le Four des Banes to you.
I stayed at Laurence's beautiful B&B in June. There were 3 couples from California. It was very easy to communicate with Laurence in booking and in arrival. The rooms are decorated beautifully, each a little different. They pool is in the back and very inviting. Every morning Laurence prepared an outstanding breakfast with all the local foods including cheeses, fresh breads, fresh fruit, yogurt, juice. She was very helpful in suggesting acitivities and restaurants. We visited a wonderful winery she arranged for us. We were on the outskirts of the town, Aix was just and short drive or walk away. I highly recommend this place to anyone wanting to stay in the area.
