remodeled barn with 4 bedrooms, 2 bathrooms, 200 feet of lake frontage
About Julie McCormick
For several years we would attend a party next door to this property. As luck would have it we got to know the previous owners, became friends and we purchased this property in 2015. We are busy professionals. Julie owns a printing business with her brother and John enjoys a successful architecture and engineering practice. We live year round in a suburb of Rochester spending weekends and vacation time on the property. We really enjoy being able to share this very special place with our guests. We think that South Lake Road is the hidden gem of the Finger Lakes. It still has the peaceful character that make this part of the country so special.

Why Julie McCormick chose Middlesex
This unique property has been converted from a small barn to a lovely, spacious home with contemporary styling inside and the “Old Barn” still standing proud from the outside. Situated on a quiet, dead end road with 200 feet of lake frontage it is the perfect location for your get away retreat. Downstairs has an open plan with a comfortable kitchen open to the dining and living area. The first bedroom is accessibly located off the dining area, furnished with a king size bed and plenty of room to spare. Also on the first floor is a large bathroom. Upstairs there is a sitting area opening to three bedrooms each with eleven foot cathedral ceilings. Facing Canandaigua lake are two large bedrooms one with a king size bed and one with a queen oriented to provide wonderful views of the lake thru large windows. The fourth bedroom has two twin beds. All three upstairs bedrooms are well insulated to stay cool in the summer and made even more comfortable with ceiling paddle fans. A modern, beautiful bathroom with shower completes the accommodations. This summer will be the first rental season for the barn and all almost all of the finishes are new. We have only recently developed this property and will be adding more pictures as the spring progresses so check back to see how lovely the property really is. The lake front is across the lightly traveled, dead-end road and accessible by a well made metal 35 step staircase. The natural, lake pebble beach allows walk-in access and is supplemented by a 4 foot by 36 foot pier for lounging or that irresistible urge to do a cannonball plunge.

Great converted barn with large bedrooms and comfortable beds.
A nice vacation at The Old Barn
My family (party of 8) recently stayed at this unique property, located on a nice quiet dead end road on Canandaigua Lake. The amenities were very nice, especially the beds & bedding. The owners also provided use of 2 kayaks & a paddleboard. The steps down to the beach are were no problem at all. There were just a couple minor issues. The 1 tv in the house was small, not good for a group to try to watch a movie. There is no dishwasher or washer/dryer in the house. We only had 2 dish towels. The nearest Laundromat is 14 miles away, so renters should bring extra towels & clothes- a drying rack would also be useful. Otherwise, we enjoyed our stay and would recommend staying here.
The house is very cozy and really clean.
Almost brand new. The location is amazing and the owners are really helpful.
We really enjoy our stay!!!
The property is one mile south on a dead end road offering a quiet, peaceful environment. There is very little traffic or other signs of people's activities. There is little light pollution so you can see the stars and even the milky way on a clear night.
