This is a spacious 3 bedroom, 2 bath, 2 king bed, 2 queen bed (including a sleeper sofa), 1,220 sqft unit. It is one of three units in a 3000 sq ft home that I bought last fall as I moved down from Atlanta. I have had a VRBO property in Panama City Beach for the past 5 years so I am an experienced vacation rental host. See my reviews from my prior (sold) VRBO listing 436019.

You get a 3 bedroom, 2 bath unit with kitchen and washer/dryer for less than 2 rooms at a hotel! A $75 cleaning fee is also charged. The required 13% tourist tax is also additional. As of last January VRBO, copying ABB, has started charging guests a fee with their reservation as well. I do accept a full PayPal payment to waive this fee.

My home is on a quiet street in Largo, FL in a neighborhood comprised mostly of retirees. Out of respect for my neighbors I don't allow any loud parties on the property. For those with asthma or respiratory allergies the house is far enough from the beach that you can avoid the irritating air from the occasional red tide blooms. In addition, there is an air filtration unit in the apartment.

This is a 100% smoke free property, inside and out. This unit feels like a detached home. It has been renovated with a new kitchen, beautiful grey barn wood look tile floors, a new ac/heater, and is comfortably furnished. There is a large outside patio off the driveway that is fenced off from the street for privacy with a dinette, lounge chairs and fire barbeque.

Why my home??

The house is on the Pinellas Trail -- so bring your bikes! (I do provide a few old ones.)

On the other side of the Trail is a pleasant walk, or bike ride, around John Taylor Park where a small lake is home to a wide variety of wildlife.

You are two blocks from a small "executive" Par 3 public golf course.

A mile from a mall with an amazing theater with reclining seats, good restaurants including an Olive Garden, Red Lobster, Panera, and lots of shops.

There are 20 other restaurants and two Publix markets within 3 miles.

Up the road is a neighborhood with antique/2nd hand shops.

Oh, let's not forget you are 3 miles from the nearest beach and centrally located between Tarpon Springs and St Petersburg.

There is a comfortable new queen sleeper sectional couch with an upgraded mattress. The kitchen has a newer LG washer and dryer, an ice-maker/water dispenser in the fridge door, as well as lots of small appliances and baking pans, should you like to cook. Two bedrooms have the amazingly comfortable "bed in a box" king platform beds while the 3rd has an equally comfortable queen bed; with 100% cotton sheets and bedding. All of the bedrooms have dressers, closets and TVs.

There are three parking spaces for you in the drive way, one car behind the other in one space, and one on the grass in front of the house. (On street parking is not recommended.)

Policy for Young Children:

I have hosted lots of families with young children. However, I have a lot of nice furniture. Unlike a hotel, I don't have a spare furniture inventory to resupply if damage occurs. (My sleeper couch alone was $1,800 and took six weeks to deliver.) I want to be sure that all of the furniture is pristine for your visit. Therefore I require families with children to commit to not letting them eat in the living room or bed rooms. I also have covers to put on the couch should your children be rowdy. VRBO keeps the damage deposit money in an escrow account and returns it in 7 days unless I ask for a withholding. (In 6 years of vacation rentals I've been fortunate to have great guests and have only kept a total of $300 in deposits.)

NOTE on Hurricane Irma: Pinellas County was on the west, or weaker, side of the storm. It impacted the county with near category 2 high winds. There was no storm surge so the beaches were not impacted. The majority of damage was to mobile homes and the electric grid.

Why Mary Meade chose Largo

As soon as I saw the Real Estate listing I knew this was my home. I loved the location ... near the beaches but far enough away to not get stuck in traffic night and day. I've found I'm allergic to the red tide blooms, so this distance is good for that too. It's out of the flood / hurricane surge zone, two blocks from a fun executive golf course, near a YMCA. There is a 35 mile bike/walking trail, and a park with a lake, just out my back gate. Lots of shopping and good dining near by. What's not to love?!



"One of Florida's most popular and unique urban pathways, the Pinellas Trail stretches from St. Petersburg north to Tarpon Springs, connecting several county parks, coastal areas and communities. Its multiple access points, mile markers and parking areas make the trail—and the communities it connects—very popular destinations among cyclists.

For the first 15 miles from St. Petersburg the trail crosses dozens of pedestrian bridges with sweeping views of the urban landscape. The most scenic of these is the 0.25-mile Cross Bayou Bridge, which spans Boca Ciega Bay.

Farther north lie the towns of Largo, Clearwater and Dunedin. In downtown Clearwater the trail merges with wide sidewalks and a newly resurfaced bicycle boulevard. Use caution through here because the trail crosses roads with heavy traffic. Dunedin offers a particularly pleasant scene, with shops, restaurants, public restrooms and parking. The Gulf of Mexico is just two blocks away, worth the brief detour for lovely coastal scenery.

In the quiet township of Palm Harbor pause on the Bayshore Boulevard pedestrian bridge at Mile Marker 29 for more Gulf scenery. From Tarpon Springs's quaint business district the trail continues under US 19 to Keystone Road (CR 582) at Melon Street. It continues along Keystone to East Lake Road, linking an already existing section of the trail. The trail heads south to John Chestnut Sr. Park."

Really a home away from home

I really don't want to write a good review, because then everyone will know about this hidden gem and make it more difficult for us to rent in the future. But, that wouldn't be fair to Mary, who went and goes above and beyond to make our stay fantastic. This is our 10th trip to Clearwater and we have enjoyed some very nice places, but we have never stayed at a place stocked as well as Mary's place. Leave the hair dryers, soap, shampoo, french press, teas, etc.... at home, it is all here for you. Three beautiful bedrooms, with desks and televisions, and two very nice bathrooms.

Mary met us at the door and showed us the in and outs of the place, so we didn't have any problems. And if anything did come up, she was there to help within minutes. We even had Mary join us for dinner one night!!!!

After dinner one night, we walked to the park (1 block away) and watched the alligators swim around. Two nights, we drove to Indian Rocks beach (less than 10 minutes away) to watch the sunsets.

Stay with Mary and your vacation will start out fantastic.

Beautiful location. Fantastic host!

This is the cleanest, best-equipped and most well-maintained vacation rental I've stayed in. The apartment is huge. It's fully stocked with everything you could possibly need. Mary is an attentive and helpful host, always available to help or lend some good advice for travellers. The neighbourhood is quiet but everything is just a short drive away. We came for Spring Training and we're within an easy ride of 6 ball parks. And just steps from the beautiful Pinellas Trail.

We'll definitely be back!

Great Location, beds and attention to detail!

We were able to check out multiple beaches, get groceries from nearby grocery stores, bike everywhere easily and grill supper on the grill. Great beds! Super host!

Was a trip with 5 boys ... so having enough space is often a problem, but the layout of this house allowed us some good breathing room! The kitchen was great and fully functional. Everything you can think of was there!!

Weather was beautiful. Beaches excellent. Can’t ask for a better trip!

Pinelles trail beauty

We enjoyed everything about this vacation property ! The kitchen is fully equipped and the home is clean and beautifully maintained. The location couldn't be better with the John Taylor Park right behind, we spent many afternoons looking at the alligators and birds. Mary is close enough to provide instruction or information. We'll definitely be back !

We were very comfortable throughout our stay. Kitchen and bathrooms are well furnished and stocked.

Mary was very responsive in meeting our needs. I must emphasize that she is a very, very honest person. We forgot a small jewelry box in the bedroom when we left. She called us the following day informing us that we forgot something. She mailed it to our home address and it was waiting there when we arrived home.

This is a NO SMOKING property, inside and out on the front patio. (My upstairs guests don't want to walk through a smoke cloud.) I had guests with a young girl fighting cancer who was allergic to the smoke smell and would have an asthma attack if she smelled it. Smoking will result in the forfeiture of the damage deposit.

Ladies - I provide high quality 100% cotton, stain free, sheets. I have had to throw away 2 sets of sheets this year so far. If you, or your young girls, are in your time of month there are sheet protectors in the closet. If there is an accident please use the Peroxide above the washing machine on fresh stains until the stain is gone before washing the sheets. I will charge $80 against your damage deposit for a new set of sheets if I find any stains on them.

Payments are non-refundable - unless I can rent the property for the same time period as your cancellation. Please buy travel insurance if you have any doubts.

Owner's Cancellation Policy

  • 50% refund if canceled at least 30 days before arrival date.
  • 100% refund if canceled at least 60 days before arrival date.
  • Service Fee fully refunded on cancellations that qualify for 100% refund.
