It was very cozy and nice will stay again
We loved how close everything was
Good spot, as advertised.
Comfortable enough. Cool downstairs until we twisted the knobs on the baseboard heaters, not the thermostat! Spacious, comfy enough. Haven't seen appliances like that since the Reagan years! But they work just fine.
Great for a quick trip
Nice layout and open concept living area on the second floor.
Great location right next to the Lodge and the TD market - you can walk easily to both. Loved the two decks, especially the covered deck during the winter.
The baseboard heating doesn't work in the main living space, so the wood stove is the only heater. This keeps the area plenty warm, but the pilot light was out when we first arrived. Vacasa came promptly, which we appreciated!
The kitchen is very small; I think it would be hard to cook for a large group there. We did see a handful of ants in the kitchen (probably 5 or so) - mostly it felt like the condo wasn't very lived in and just needed occupancy a bit more.
Overall, great stay, but a bit more love could help the condo a lot!
nice ski cabin
convenient location, good for multiple people, comfortable layout.
Nice location but needs an update/investment
We have stayed in these condos before and had a nice experience, as the location and amenities are great. However, we were disappointed by the appointments and condition of this unit. Although aspects of the unit are fine (new couch, dining table/chairs set is fine, decent media center, good wifi), there were some noticeable failings. Even a small investment by the owner would make a big difference. We would not rent it again until/unless the owner made an effort to improve it. Examples:
The "master" bedroom was in the basement, with a double bed (which was the largest bed in the entire condo). There was no closet or clothes dresser or even a bar to hang clothes on in this bedroom. (We relocated a hanging bar from upstairs.) There was a hole in the drywall near the electrical outlet. There are also ants in the downstairs hallway and bathroom.
The kitchen had only the absolute cheapest or oldest appliances, and an incomplete hodge-podge/jumble of utensils (not even a real spatula!). It was functional, but only just.
The unit lacked a grill on the deck (the previous unit we stayed at in this complex had one) - this would have made the kitchen a lot more bearable. Also there is no external storage for bikes etc - again, the previous unit we rented here had a storage space.
Lastly - when we arrived, there were no towels in the unit, at all! This is not the owner's fault, this is a housekeeping fail. But it didn't help our overall perception.
So - not terrible (we still had a nice time, and the neighbors were friendly and not noisy), but given that there are a lot of housing options in Truckee and Tahoe Donner, we wouldn't choose this one again until some improvements are made.
We always appreciate our guests leaving reviews that will help us better know how to improve our services. Unfortunately, though we have forwarded these comments to the owner, they do not have any plans for home improvements at this time. We have reminded housekeeping to keep towels well stocked and apologize for that oversight. During this guest's stay there was fire ban, so the charcoal grill had to be put away until the ban was lifted. We have sent pest control to the home to deal with the ants. Thank you!
