Escape to the mountains w/modern and private mountain cabin w/ cozy decor

Bedrooms 3
Property type cabin
Minimum Stay 2 - 4 nights

About the property

Cabin, 3 Bedrooms, 2 Baths, Sleeps 8 (6 adults)

Pack your bags and let this Durango home surround you with towering trees and the beauty of Mother Nature. Set in a quiet neighborhood, you'll be able to visit local attractions without hassle.

Set right along Vallecito Creek and 27 miles from the heart of Durango, privacy will be an added amenity. We suggest a 4x4 vehicle in the winter for safety.

Kick back on the soft couch while you check out what's on cable, or watch a DVD on the flatscreen HDTV. The private washer/dryer will keep the dirty clothes at bay. Connect to the WiFi and relax while you stream some soft tunes.

The fully equipped kitchen features wood cabinets, stainless steel appliances, and plenty of counter space. Eat at the dining room table or out on the deck while the dishwasher takes care of clean up. Put the gas grill to work to show off your BBQ skills.

This three-bedroom, two-bathroom home has room for up to eight guests (six adults) to stay comfortably. The master bedroom has a king-size bed and private en suite. In the second room, there is a twin-size bed as well as a twin-over-double bunk bed. The third room has two twin-size beds.

Pack a lunch and head out for a day of hiking along Vallecito Creek. Cast a line out to see if you can catch a trout or two. Get out on the waves with a stand-up paddleboard in the waters of the Vallecito Reservoir. When the snow starts to fall make your way over to the Purgatory Ski Resort to dive into the fresh powder.

No matter what time of year you come to visit, this Colorado escape puts adventure and relaxation at your fingertips.

About Vacasa, CO - Southwest Colorado Office

Thanks for considering a Vacasa home! We provide full-service management for privately owned vacation homes, and like to think that we offer our guests the best of both worlds: the unique experience of staying in a one-of-a-kind vacation home, with the peace of mind that comes from knowing that the home you book for your special vacation is cared for by professional housekeepers and property managers.

Vacasa began in 2009, simply because our founder and CEO Eric wanted to find a better way to share his wife’s family’s summer home in Long Beach, Washington with guests as a vacation rental. Eric and his early team worked to build Vacasa on the premise that local employees can do what they love most (taking care of guests, homeowners, and properties), while the hands-off tasks of vacation rental management—things like marketing, filing taxes, and maintaining a website—could be handled by a specialized central support team.

Our passion is connecting travelers with the unique experience of staying in a vacation home, and we would be honored to be your host. Please contact us with any questions about this home—our team is standing by!

Great area to visit, but bring WARM CLOTHING in Fall.

  • 3 of 5

Temps in fall drop below freezing quite regularly. The heat will take about a day to finally get the temperature from 50F to 68F. Do not use more than one provided space heater upstairs or it will disrupt the electrical service.

Great Location and Cabin. Housekeeping needs some more attention

  • 4 of 5

First off. This place was phenomenal! The area, the cabin, and the experience. It is right on the creek and less than 2 miles from the Weminuche Wilderness entrance. The only gripe/complaint I would have has nothing to do with the property, owner or Vacasa. It was the housekeeping. I know this is technically a cabin rental but this place was very nice. More like a house, so you would expect the cleaning crew would do a better job of vacuuming and dusting. They also left the coffee pot burner on after cleaning and we didn't realize it until after we stayed the night and found it the next morning. The carpet was dirty and dead bugs and cobwebs on windows sills that could been quickly and easily vacuumed up. Another 20 minutes of cleaning put into the house would have made all the difference. When you are charged $170 cleaning fee it makes it even more important that the simple stuff is done.

Again, a must stay. Will stay there again!

Peaceful, relaxing place to srayt

  • 5 of 5

My husband and I came to celebrate our 10th wedding anniversary. It was such a nice place to stay. We enjoyed grilling and eating on the back yard near the creek. We want to stay here again!

Family Vacation

  • 4 of 5

The house was very clean and decorated really nice. We found a lot of the necessities to make our vacation smooth, however we did have the max 8 guests and found only 8 bath towels. We were constantly running them through the wash so we could have clean bath towels, staying almost a week. Also, ask for the code to the dumpster, it is not posted anywhere. The beds were comfortable and we enjoyed our stay, even saw deer eating in the back yard one day!

Beautiful property! Great location!

  • 5 of 5

The house is very modern with all the technology you could want. Big TV, sound system throughout, Alexa. Only drawback was not having instructions on how to work everything. Overall house is beautiful. Creek side location and easy access to lake vallecito are a huge plus. Would definitely stay again.

The cabin is modern and extremely comfortable. It's right on the creek and a very short drive to the lake. Would definitely stay again. Only critique is that the tv, entertainment system, and speakers inside and outside the house are difficult to operate without instructions.
