Our 1940's 2 bedroom/1 bath cottage is cozy, comfortable and close to it all. We are a short 10-12 minute walk from the MARTA train making it easy to get from the airport and easy to get most anywhere in the city. We are also just a few miles from the airport if renting a car. It's also a perfect crash pad for airline professionals. The corner lot and fenced in yard provide privacy. This mid-century home has been restored giving it lots of charm. The neighborhood is a historic neighborhood with cute diners, pizza joints, pubs, cafe's and even a speakeasy.

Everything was great !!
We really enjoyed everything !!
I would NEVER recommend staying here. However I will mention the positives first. The renter was very kind and responds quickly to inquiries. They allow pets which is so wonderful for those who need to bring them along.
Now to the negatives: The absolute worst part about the property was as soon as we walked in we were immediately smacked in the face by a horrible musty, stale smell. It literally was overpowering. It made you feel so gross and we were self conscious that we smelled like it when we went places. It smelled like the house had been sitting there untouched for years. The owner told us the “cleaner” was there before us, well if they were they should be able to recognize the smell as well. I highly doubt actually cleaning products were used.
I know that the renter is trying to sell the “historic charm” of the cottage but that doesn’t mean you just slap some paint and throw new bathroom sink and toilet in a very old house and call it done. The living room was a joke. It had a small uncomfortable couch that looked like it was 50yrs old. The cushions were flat and pilling. We couldn’t even feel relaxed after we put the kids to bed because everything just felt gross.
The bathroom had a pedestal sink, toilet and shower. But no shelving or cabinet to even put your toothbrush down or other toiletries. We had to put our toothbrushes and other stuff on the washer in the hallway. The mirror was so small and up so high that I couldn’t even see in it.
There is a grate on the floor in the hallway that you have to walk on to get to the bedrooms that feels like youre going to fall through any second.
The yard is very poorly cared for. It’s an unsecured fenced in yard that if maintained could be a huge selling point but instead it’s overgrown with weeds and debris.
Overall the property just feels dirty. We were reluctant to use any of the dishes because it all just felt gross. I was looking forward to a small cottage in a nice little community but the whole time we couldn’t get out of there fast enough each morning. We literally spent no time except for sleeping in there. If we wouldn’t have had our pet we would have just ate the cost and went to a hotel. There were even more issues but I think this is enough.
I’m sorry to be harsh but the property has some potential but needs a lot more work and maintenance.
Comfortable and Cute
A friend and I were attending a conference near the airport and this house was in a great location. It was in a quiet neighborhood and the house was very comfortable. The owner was super responsive and a pleasure to work with. Thanks!
We loved this house. It was perfect for pets as well. The house was clean and had everything we needed. The neighborhood was nice and quiet. Its close to all the shopping and eating spots. The host was awsome she left a bottle of wine for us and was very professional and pleasant to communicate with. We will definitely stay again.
A fantastic little retreat!
Coming from central Texas, being in the middle of a beautiful area such as East Point, Georgia was simply amazing. We were amazed but the quick responses of the owner even when we got there and had a question. We were welcomed by a bottle of wine and chocolates and other snacks which just made our day. It truly was a culture shock coming from Texas homes/streets to the intricacies of Atlanta/East point in their homes/streets. We were able to stay for 4 nights and we even forgot a pair of glasses and the owner quickly found out they found them and will mail them to us. Such sweet people, beautiful yard, beautiful old-school cottage feel type of house. Thank you again!
We took our boys to Atlanta to go to the aquarium and a Braves game. This was perfect for the 4 of us and our 2 senior labs, who we hate to leave behind. The owners left farm fresh eggs, wine, and chocolates and were great with communication.
We are in the same neighborhood as one of the only velodromes in the country. Get a chance to watch an exciting high speed cycling race on the track or rent a bike and take a few spins around. Fun for kids too!
