About the property

2/3 bedroom in rural setting 3 miles from downtown

Chestnut Hill is a two/three bedroom home located in a country setting yet only 3 miles from downtown. It is a short ride to everything you want to do in the Asheville area, including wonderful dining, gorgeous hiking, and antiquing. The Biltmore estate is 15 minutes away. After a day of sight seeing and adventure, Chestnut Hill is a great place to call home. Here you can cook a meal in the fully appointed large kitchen, watch TV, go on the internet, or just relax.

Our home has a large living room with comfy leather couches, large dining area with seating for 6, a fully equipped kitchen and a tiled bath with a tub/shower combination. The entire home has hardwood floors and is professionally decorated. The walls are decorated with antique theatre posters

The large master bedroom suite has a queen size bed with a pillowtop mattress and a 1/2 bath. The attached sitting room (can be used as a third bedroom) has a daybed with trundle that can be pulled out for two twin beds and a flat screen tv. It also has a door to the outside porch.

The large second bedroom also has a queen size bed with sliders going to the outside porch

The home has plenty of parking, is located on fenced land, and is a great place to unwind after a day exploring Asheville or hiking nearby mountain trails. The grounds are full of organically grown fruit trees, nuts, berries and grapes. If you are visiting when they are ripe you are welcome to enjoy them. There is an attached apartment that is partially beneath the house.

Asheville boasts activities which will satisfy all in your travel party. Hiking trails and outdoor activities such as horseback riding, canoeing, and whitewater rafting are within easy driving distance. Skiing and a zipline tour are within a 20 minute drive. For the shopper in your group, Asheville has a host of antique shops, boutiques, art galleries, and crafts. Evening activities include diverse dining options, movies, live theatre, live music, or just walking through Asheville's energetic downtown filled with street performers and art. The Biltmore estate is breathtaking in summer and glorious when decorated for Christmas. Chimney Rock Park is worth the 20 minute drive. Wonderful hiking and beautiful views await you in every direction. A drive on the Blue Ridge Parkway in autumn highlights the beautiful peak colors. There are many festivals throughout the year for the whole family.

About Marilyn Del Vecchio

We are a family owned and operated property. We have three places in Asheville and are proud of our warm and friendly vacation homes.

Marilyn Del Vecchio purchased this house in 2010

Why Marilyn Del Vecchio chose Smoky Mountains

We bought this property because our children live in Asheville (son Sam and family live next door). My son owns Alternative Allergy Solutions in Asheville specializing in acupuncture and allergies. My daughter is a playwright and actress and managing director of The Magnetic Theatre in Asheville

What makes this house unique

The numerous fruit trees, berry bushes and nut trees grown organically on the property by our son are wonderful.

Great Family Stay

  • 5 of 5

The home was comfortable for all six of us and our two pups. We enjoyed the proximity to the Biltmore, Chimey Rock, Blowing Rock and Skyline Drive. We hope to return in the Fall to see the beautiful colors of the changing trees.

Cozy little home

Nice clean home just minutes away from almost any Asheville attraction. It was great for us with the fenced in yard while traveling with a dog!

Chestnut Hil - Cozy and Inviting 3 bedroom home in West Asheville

  • 5 of 5

Me and my husband enjoyed our stay at Chestnut Hill. We live in Fort Lauderdale and have a child that lives in Asheville and one in Greensboro, NC. We stayed here during the Thanksgiving holidays with our family. The home was the perfect place to host the Thanksgiving meal. The kitchen had most everything we needed to cook and was big enough to accommodate the whole family. The beds were comfortable and we loved hanging out in the den on the cozy couches. We would stay here again! Diane and Hudson Welch

House was quite a nice surprise when you get in. Very comfortable.

Was very pleased. One suggestion is thicker curtains in the second bedroom, neighbors lights shine right in.

Wonderful home

  • 5 of 5

We had a wonderful trip to Asheville, NC. The home on Brickyard Road was perfectly situated to the sights we wanted to see, the Biltmore, and to the wedding venue in nearby Weaverville , that brought us to Ashevillle. Our first impressions of the home was that it was immaculate. The kitchen had everything we needed. The other amenities, such as TV's, comfortable seating in the Dining and Living rooms, were a plus. The 1 full and 1/2 bathrooms were perfect for us as two couples. Those ,too, were immaculate. We would highly recommend this home to future renters.
