Lovely Place, Lovely People
We had a wonderful time relaxing on Siesta Key. Vista Hermosa is a quiet complex on a quiet part of the island (as compared to the craziness near the public beach and the village).
Could really do without a car - restaurants, bars, convenience stores, grocery store all within walking distance. We rented a scooter to explore the island and had a blast!
Owner is super responsive, and the villa was spotless and comfy. Saving for the next time. See you then!
First time to Siesta Key
The villa we stayed in was spotless and easy to keep clean. Tile floors are easy on the feet, and the area rugs are cute and complementary. The location is perfect - there are only three villas this close to the pool. The pool is warm, clean, and inviting.
A long walk on the beach became our daily routine, followed by breakfast in the village. The free pedi-cabs and trolleys make navigation without a car really easy.
We ventured off the island to visit Spanish Point, St. Armand's Circle, and the Ringling Estate and Museum. Fascinating mix of things to do, with endless choices of restaurants and pubs.
Homeowner was extremely accommodating and made us feel very welcome. For us, that is one of the main elements of a good vacation. We tried to book for next year but it is already blocked out!
Easy living on a special island. We are considering buying our place, so that speaks volumes! Go ahead, it is priceless!!
Didn't want to leave . . .
Siesta Key has such a unique vibe ~ life is easy, people are friendly, and no worries mon! Surprisingly, nothing is overpriced as you often encounter on vacation. We loved the South Village, especially the Tiki Bar and Big Water Fish Company. Loved being able to walk home after an evening out. The free trolley and pedicabs will take you just about anywhere. The shops in the village are eclectic and funky. You can always find something! Lots of restaurants to choose from, but make a res to avoid long lines at the favorites, like the Lobster Pot.
The villa we chose was awesome! Loved the floor plan, the closeness to the pool, and the shortcut you can take to restaurants/stores either through the front (near the road) or the back (to Clayton's - another fav). There is also a laundry room next to the clubhouse. And then there is the beach. Best in the world, nirvana for the soul.
This villa was recently redone, with mostly everything new. Open floor plan, large bedrooms, lots of closets. The new tile floors are lovely, with really cool area rugs. The decor is light and bright, with comfy beds and lots of room to spread out.
The owner is fantastic to work with. There is a booklet with information on wifi, association rules, and how to get to the beach. Beach chairs and towels were provided. We had everything we needed at our fingertips.
Such a lovely, serene place, so hard to leave! We will most definitely be back.
Loved Every Minute!
What a pleasant surprise we had on our first stay on Siesta Key. We were lucky to find a villa that would rent for 2 weeks; most are monthly during season.
Villa is large, comfortable, with new furnishings and new TVs, including the huge 60" TV in the living room. There was enough space for everyone to do their own thing yet come together as a group. We walked to the beach, to the grocery store, to the local restaurants. We rented kayaks and bikes and explored a lot of the island.
Weather was picture-perfect, which was an added bonus for mid February. The sun was always out, and we enjoyed the heated pool when not at the beach or exploring. Found some great 'dive' bars, and we really loved walking to the local outdoor bars with music every night. We also did a dinner cruise from Marina Jack's. Highly recommended! We also loved the Ringling Mansion and Museum. Not enough time to do it all!!
A villa is the way to go ~ no shared walls; total privacy. We had a parking pad also, which comes in handy for groceries and other shopping.
We hope to be back for a longer stay next year. Everyone in the complex was friendly, and the owner is super-responsive.
LOVE LOVE LOVE
We could not have asked for a more perfect vacation! The villa is spacious with all new furnishings, plus the new HUGE flat screen TVs were a plus for the football fanatic in the family. So close to the pool, it seemed like our own. We also played a few rounds of shuffleboard. A short walk to the beach brings you to this fantastic sand and surroundings ~ truly unique. We wandered around the point of rocks and also walked to the opposite end of Crescent Beach. The weather was ideal: sunny, no wind, and between 80-85 each day. We also used the Johnny Free Ride to take us to the Village, but there are many restaurants scattered throughout the island that you don't really need to go far for good dining. One of our favorites was Big Water Fish Co., a short walk down the road.
Vista Hermosa is a great complex with a laid-back vibe. The villa we rented was ideal in location and size, with large rooms and a big lanai. The owner was on-site and responsive to our questions about where to go and what to do. Looking forward to returning over the summer!
