About Vacasa of Lake Tahoe

Thanks for considering a Vacasa home! We provide full-service management for privately owned vacation homes, and like to think that we offer our guests the best of both worlds: the unique experience of staying in a one-of-a-kind vacation home, with the peace of mind that comes from knowing that the home you book for your special vacation is cared for by professional housekeepers and property managers.

Vacasa began in 2009, simply because our founder and CEO Eric wanted to find a better way to share his wife’s family’s summer home in Long Beach, Washington with guests as a vacation rental. Eric and his early team worked to build Vacasa on the premise that local employees can do what they love most (taking care of guests, homeowners, and properties), while the hands-off tasks of vacation rental management—things like marketing, filing taxes, and maintaining a website—could be handled by a specialized central support team.

Our passion is connecting travelers with the unique experience of staying in a vacation home, and we would be honored to be your host. Please contact us with any questions about this home—our team is standing by!

Awesome location, but a few issues with the condo

  • 2 of 5

We had a very mixed experience in this home. Here's a recap of pros and cons that may help others decide if it's a good fit.

*Location - walking distance to Boreal

*warm and cozy

*spacious for a 1BR condo

*condo was not ready at check-in time - this was a major issue for us. The check-in time was 4pm, which is already very late compared to most rentals. Cleaning staff arrived at 4pm and cleaned the apt. while we waited outside in the snow for 40 minutes. Not a great start to a vacation.

*kitchen is not well stocked (no can opener, no wine opener, only 1 pot, 1 serving/mixing bowl of any kind) We had to get very creative in order to prepare and serve meals.

*wifi is so-so. We had planned to stream movies and that is NOT an option. No DVD player either. So again, there's a need get creative.

*60s vibe = kitchen and bathroom are pretty outdated. No major issues, but they have not been remodeled in some time.

Also note that the stairs leading to loft are very steep and there are a number of protruding nail heads and staples in loft ceiling which is low. My kids banged their heads a bunch of times and with the added hazard of nails and staples it was a little stressful.

Overall - it's hard to recommend in general, but could be a good fit for young folks who want to be close to Boreal, without spending a lot of money.

Conveniently located cabin

  • 4 of 5

This condo is cozy, but plenty of space for a ski weekend with 4-5 people. There is one full bedroom, so those sleeping in the loft or on the futon will have to enter the bedroom to use it. Wifi was spotty when we visited, but it was right after a rough storm. The regional manager (Jason) was fantastic and incredibly helpful when there were some slight maintenance issues.
