Nice Adobe right by the Audubon Center at the very top end of Canyon Road. There is a large flat screen tv that is connected to Apple TV, as well as a bluray/dvd player. There is also wifi throughout the home. Another amenity the home feature is a fully functioning hot tub. In addition the property is situated on one of Santa Fe's oldest orchards. Next to many lovely hiking trails and only 15 minutes to town..

Remote, cozy with visits from deer
This property is at the very top of Canyon Road - great location for hiking (out the door) or wandering Canyon Road which is 2 miles down. It's a great walk too. Internet and wifi are fine but calls don't go through, though they have a landline if needed. Gave a 4 bc it's a primary residence when not rented, which just feels a little less hotel-ish and a little more houseguest. I would rent again.
This was a fantastic place to stay and a perfect getaway
Everything was perfect!
Loved our rental!~
We had a great time in our rental. Location was perfect, beautiful views of sunset, and everything we needed. Thanks!
Great location but overly "lived in"
The house is in a fantastic location close to downtown Santa Fe but in the hills (by the Audubon Center) where there is lots of hiking and quiet. The house has an artsy character. But what we didn't realize when renting it was that the owner's son lives in it and was vacating it for our stay (he then stayed in a building next to the house). The son was nice (he let us know he had an emergency so was still cleaning when we were arriving). However, we were clearly taking over someone's private home and there were lots of personal items around the house (including on the nightstand). We questioned how clean things were (had the sheets really been changed?) because it was so lived in (there was dirty laundry in the hamper in the bathroom).
If we had rented with the knowledge that this would be the situation (or had the rate been cheaper), it wouldn't have been disappointing. However, we'd all stayed at VRBOs before and they have always had a generic, impersonal decor so you don't feel like you're invading someone's privacy.
First and foremost all bed sheets are always washed in hot water prior to the arrival of guests. Additionally we always have at least three sets of clean separate bed linens and towels on hand as the home is sometimes booked back to back.
Part of what makes our rental special is its unique character and my father's collection of books and original art. I'm not sure what personal effects in the home you're referring to other than the art, reading material, and one family photo. You're not invading anyone's personal space because you're renting their home whose decor reflects their personal tastes. We wouldn't rent the home out if we felt doing so invaded our personal space.
Charming little treasure!
Off the beaten path hideaway - but only 10 minutes to plaza!!! Eclectic, bright and arty! Fully equipped kitchen and comfy beds - great for a weekend trip in Santa Fe - especially if you like tranquility ;). Owner very friendly and accommodating.
Peaceful. Tranquil. Minutes from spectacular walking trails. Yet convenient for town excursions.
Two large bedrooms. Comfortable beds and private baths. One small lower level private room. Nice open common space. Great books,
art and artifacts. Hottub with stunning star view.
Host was friendly and accommodating.
Tricky driveway with rocky climb to the house in winter.
