4 bedroom house has plenty of space for relaxing indoors and out
About Heather Cross
I'm a mom, writer, yogini and travel agent. Woodstock has been a peaceful escape from the concrete jungle we live in and a place that we love to spend time with family and friends. It's truly a joy to be able to share our special place with others who hopefully enjoy it as much as we do.
Heather Cross purchased this House in 2011
Why Heather Cross chose Bearsville
Our Brooklyn family wanted a place to escape the hustle and bustle of city life and we just love Woodstock -- the people, the town, the vibe and the music. And the clean mountain air. When we were visiting potential properties my daughter called this one 'Paradise' and I'm inclined to agree. Now that we've left the city, we still love spending time at our upstate escape. It always feels like vacation time when we are in Woodstock.
What makes this House unique
We love this house because there is plenty of space for entertaining and enjoying one another, but also privacy with four separate bedrooms. It's close to town, but feels very private. We spend a lot of time ourselves at the house and try to make it the perfect place to stay for ourselves, as well as our guests.

A home for the great outdoors
The magic of this property lies outside its walls. The pool and tiki bar surrounded by forest, the sweeping lawn and kids playground, the fire pit, and the walk down to Saw Kill Creek make this house worth staying in, especially in summer.
My family and I stayed at the Woodstock house for a week. It was truly a little piece of heaven tucked away in the woods. My two year old spent every morning throwing rocks in the beautiful backyard stream, my mother drank coffee in the sun room every day, and we loved having the pool and hot tub to relax in. The proximity to town was perfect and the house came equipped with everything. Heather was so responsive to any question I had. My family and I are still talking about how much fun we had. We will definitely be back!
We loved our stay even though it rained the majority of the time. The house has everything you need hot tub, pool, tiki bar, fire pit, toys for kids, creeek you can walk to. We definitely plan to come back in summer to take advantage of all the amenities. Also Woodstock is nearby and nice hiking trails with kids as commeau property. Woodstock brewery was nice as well good food and kid friendly
Great location, wonderful spacious layout. We loved the hot tub and the heated extension room.
Well-equipped and -maintained home in a beautiful, quiet setting.
We were a three-generation family between the ages of 70 and 3 years of age and everyone thoroughly enjoyed our stay. The first day in, we had a visit from a black bear who tore up the "bear proof" garbage can, but the owner's local caretaker, Karsten, immediately responded and took care of the problem, so it was more of an adventure than a difficulty. She also made daily visits to relieve us of our accumulated trash to lessen the bear's desire to return to the property (we did see it a few more times, but no more messes!). Woodstock's location was central to much of what we all wanted to see in the area, and the home was five minutes from town center. All in all, a wonderful vacation in a wonderful locale. Heather, the home owner, obviously has put a lot of thought and expertise into providing everything needed to make the unit a home-away-from home.
It was wonderful. House provided plenty of room for all. It was well stocked with lall we needed.
Great experience for both adults and children.. beautiful house and grounds. Close proximity to town of Woodstock and Bearsville complex provided much opportunity dining out. This is our second vacation stay and we will be back next year. Thank you Heather Cross (owner) for being so responsive and helpful.
Our house is under 2 miles from 'downtown' Woodstock, and about a half mile from the fantastic Bearsville Theater/Bear Cafe. There is a public tobogganing hill less than a mile away, or for skiers, Belleayre and Hunter Mountain are within approximately 25 miles.
