About Vacasa, CA - Lake Tahoe Office

Thanks for considering a Vacasa home! We provide full-service management for privately owned vacation homes, and like to think that we offer our guests the best of both worlds: the unique experience of staying in a one-of-a-kind vacation home, with the peace of mind that comes from knowing that the home you book for your special vacation is cared for by professional housekeepers and property managers.

Vacasa began in 2009, simply because our founder and CEO Eric wanted to find a better way to share his wife’s family’s summer home in Long Beach, Washington with guests as a vacation rental. Eric and his early team worked to build Vacasa on the premise that local employees can do what they love most (taking care of guests, homeowners, and properties), while the hands-off tasks of vacation rental management—things like marketing, filing taxes, and maintaining a website—could be handled by a specialized central support team.

Our passion is connecting travelers with the unique experience of staying in a vacation home, and we would be honored to be your host. Please contact us with any questions about this home—our team is standing by!

For the cost, we were blown away with how perfect the kitchen was for a large group. It was clean and plan on using it in the future.

Great 4th of July Weekend

  • 4 of 5

We had a great stay at this property. It is walking distance to the lake and in a nice neighborhood. We didn't have issues with the ants described in the other reviews. The only thing we found odd was that there was nowhere to dispose of our trash. The rental guide describes a brown bear box but we scoured the property and it was nowhere to be found, so maybe it was stolen? The neighbors were very kind and allowed us to use theirs. There were only 4 of us but the house could comfortably sleep 8+ with the beds in the loft area. I would highly recommend this property to others.

Overall it was pretty good

  • 4 of 5

The house was fully equipped with just about everything from games to cookware to seasoning. We traveled with 6 adults, two children under 8, and a 6 month old. Perfect for large families with multiple couples.

The downside, 1. The upstairs bathroom was pretty much inoperable. Only the toilet worked. The sink was stripped and the shower could use a new head it had one little stream of water. We called the customer service to get a voicemail that she doesn't work weekends or holidays. We called maintenance for him to say they wouldn't be able to do anything Saturday since it was around 4:30 and they probably wouldn't be able to get a plumber since it was a holiday weekend. He said we would get a discount but I wasn't told how much and haven't received it. 2. Ants, carpenter ants. It's nature, but they didn't even bother to clean the dead ants left inside a couple of the bedroom corners. It seems like something can be done to get rid of the carpenter ants because they were everywhere. We were itchy and afraid of getting bit. They could have given us a warning. 3. The deck is nearly dilapidated and needs repair. I didn't feel safe with my little ones on the deck but they did enjoy the snow in the backyard. 4. The back door doesn't lock. We had to put a chair under the door at night to feel safe.

All in all, I still rate it a 4. We were comfy and had room for all families. The house is within walking distance to Eagle Rock and close to everything. The street was quiet and the neighborhood is nice.

This was my first experience with a rental agency. I will stick with private owners from now on. I think maybe VRBO can identify if it's private or run by an agency.
