Guestbook comments from the manager

The apartment is situated in the most wonderful area - 2 minutes from the Campo Santa Margherita, with its local community feel and its pleasant bars, only 5 minutes walk to the Zattere, the Frari or the Accademia. And yet, this is a little oasis of green and quiet. We loved letting ourselves in through the big old door, to the comunal courtyard and then our own charming private garden, which we sat out in every evening before dinner.

Lovely family stay with a 7-yr old.

  • 5 of 5

We had a lovely stay at this property. Our 7-year old son was comfortable and that helped us to enjoy our stay in Venice even more. One of the very special things was how helpful everyone was. We were met by Martha, escorted to the property, and shown around. If we had any question we could call the office and it was answered right away. While we hardly ever used the downstairs except for breakfast (a bit dark), we really liked having 2 floors and two full bathrooms. I would recommend this duplex and would stay here again. Oh, and I shouldn't forget how well located it was for our purposes--very near the university, the square, and shops.

We loved it. A haven of tranquility, and with the small enclosed garden, perfect for Children. I would certainly recommend it to friends.....perfect too if you have a dog!

Lovely apartment in a great location

  • 4 of 5

We stayed in this apartment in late April and it was wonderful. We were met in the apartment when we arrived (by water taxi - much cheaper options are available and the place is close to the road bus station). The apartment is clean, comfortable (as ever, not as massive as in the pictures but with plenty of space), well equipped and joy to stay in. There are even a few herbs in the garden to spice up any home cooking you want to do. We'd never been to Venice before, but couldn't have chosen a better location: it's perhaps 25 minutes walk from San Marco, which for us meant that we could get to where we wanted easily but that the crowds are far away. The local square was great, a nice buzzy atmosphere from the morning markets, through to when the school broke up when children played football and hopscotch, to the evening with gelato and spritz. I'd recommend it highly and would certainly be happy staying here again.

Website photos do not do this property justice.

Property is in a great location in Venice, far away from crowds and near where the Venetian locals live. For a first time visitor to Venice, this property would impress you with the original Venice design. We found the property a bit tired, lacking needed cooking necessities, lacking a first class, clean appearance, and had real issues with mosquitos. Overall, an OK rental, but needs to some updating.

Owner's Response: Thank you very much for your review. First of all I am happy to hear that you enjoyed this apartment but I am also sorry to hear that the apartment was not 100% satisfactory to your expectations: we are planning some renovations during this winter period which will improve the quality of this property. Mosquitoes in the summer time are unfortunately common in Venice (especially in properties with gardens) and we therefore will be sure to provide mosquito repellants in the future. I do hope to have you back and in the meantime…arrivederci Filippo and the ViewsOnVenice team
