About Myra Guzman-Teare

My husband John and I live in the San Francisco Bay Area. I grew up in Nicaragua and John grew up in Georgia and Alabama. We have two grown children who grew up spending summers or Christmas in Nicaragua.

Myra Guzman-Teare purchased this townhome in 2015

Why Myra Guzman-Teare chose Pacific Marlin

I can't imagine a greater privilege than to grow up in beautiful Nicaragua. My childhood consisted of outings to the beach, lagoons, volcanoes or to the coffee plantations in the mountains of Nicaragua. When I left and married and settled in the U.S.A., I always dreamed of owning however small a home in beautiful San Juan del Sur. My husband and I realized this dream last year when we were able to purchase our townhome.

What makes this townhome unique

My husband and I chose the Talanguera neighborhood, which is also known as "La Pepesca" because of it's tree lined streets and proximity to not only beach but the town of San Juan as well. It is the oldest residential area located within the perimeters of the town of San Juan. The beach is a short 5 minute walk, and the town is about a 15 minute walk, thus the location is ideal for people who may not have a car.

Beautiful property

  • 5 of 5

The unit really has the touch of home. The owners have so tastefully decorated the townhouse with many items that elevate the unit above just a rental. The unit is outfitted with quality amenities that enhance the experience from linens to toiletries to kitchen supplies; everything that one could think of is provided. The unit location and orientation takes advantage of the prevailing winds to receive ample airflow for cooling. The owners were extremely responsive, helpful and accommodating. Catalina was great, so friendly. I will definitely return.

Gorgeous views

  • 5 of 5

We were very comfortable in this home and loved the ocean views. It was close enough to walk to town but far enough away that it wasn’t noisy. Myra was a great help with local recommendations. Well supplied kitchen, lots of towels, reliable electricity, plumbing wifi and water. We would stay here again and recommend it

Couldn't expect any better!

  • 5 of 5

Wow! House is spacious and very comfortable with a magnificent view on the San Juan bay from the kitchen/living room area. Large balconies where you can hang you hammock or just chill out. Birds galore with morning symphonies worth any Schubert or Brahms. Quite well equipped kitchen. Large beds with real coton sheets and real pillows. Accessible roof top area with 360 degree view on San Juan and surroundings including the Cristo de la Misericordia (a mere 20 minutes away). All in all, this Talanguera Townhome was a blessing for our group of five. No false notes, except maybe for the many leaves in the great little pool - but the windy days in December were essentially the reason behind this. Would go back there anytime!

Nice townhouse on a lovely property

  • 4 of 5

I booked a stay here last-minute after deciding to stay in SJDS a few extra days. Owner made the process quite simple and I was able to check out of my previous VRBO and straight into this one. The townhouse was very nice and everything was as described/shown in the listing. The property is great with a very nice pool area. Note: there's a third building being built on the premises which creates some construction noise during the day. Nothing too major but certainly detracts from the midday pool atmosphere. Evenings by the pool were quite nice.

Car: not necessary

Turtle tours, whale watching, horse back riding, surf lessons, and fishing are just a few of the many fun activities available through the local downtown San Juan businesses. There are plenty of restaurants and bars in town with good food at affordable prices. Don't leave San Juan without first having some delicious bread from the Pan de Vida bakery.
