Why Property Manager chose Whitfield
Sea Turtle Cottage is nestled behind the Oslo Mansion (Sarasota's first theatre). It's surrounded by tropical lush mature landscaping with access to a semi private pool. The neighborhood is the old estate neighborhood that's maintained historical beauty and modern beauty. The bay is at the end of street, great for sunsets and walking. The cottage is historic built in 1925 with terra-cotta floors in an old Spanish style design. You have access to a private courtyard outside of the bedroom door and a patio area off the front door. It's comfortable, beautiful, and has everything you need for your stay.

Cozy Cottage and Private
This is a lovely place to stay. It is small, so not for more than 2 people probably, unless maybe a small child. It is very private and comfortable and Richard has provided a wonderful 'starter' kit of munchies in case, like me, you arrive on a holiday Sunday in the evening where everything is closed! A beautiful yard and garden and a great pool. richard is friendly, not intrusive, but available to help if needed.
Very quaint cottage.
We really enjoyed our stay. The pool was great and so was the cottage. There were a lot of amenities, coffee, snacks, some bottled water, beach towels, and more. Richard was also very accommodating and Sophie the dog paid us a couple of visits. Overall a relaxing place. Plenty of lizards to entertain you while enjoying your morning coffee outside.
We had a wonderful time at Sea Turtle Cottage. Richard was very hospitable and was able to give us great recommendations for restaurants and places to check out in the area. We had family staying in a resort on Longboat Key, and it was just about a 25 minute drive to get to that area. It’s only 15 minutes if you want to check out St. Armand’s (which I highly recommend you do).
The pull out bed was very easy to set up and very comfortable. The bathroom was clean and there were lots of towels. I loved all the light in the bedroom in the morning.
I had read that the cottage could get a bit humid, but they have a dehumidifier there and if you empty the bucket (about once a day) then it’s not too humid at all!
I would definitely recommend staying at sea Turtle Cottage.
Perfect hotel alternative
I stayed at little gem of a cottage while doing a tennis program at IMG. The space was a perfect alternative to area hotels, where the selection is rather limited. The location is convenient to both Bradenton and Sarasota.
The space was quiet, clean, comfortable and nicely furnished with Richard providing snacks and coffee. I would highly recommend for either a single person or a couple.
Accommodations were just as presented; immaculate, well-appointed and comfortable.
When we arrived our host was present and pointed out the features of the cottage and grounds including the pool., The cottage is located in a very nice residential area within a block and half of the bay.
Historic charm surrounded by a tropical garden
We stayed at Sea Turtle Cottage for a lovely weekend and found the cottage to be elegantly decorated, charming and a fully equipped updated kitchen. The bed was extremely comfortable and the shower wonderful! We were warmly greeted by Richard who offered us his each a cup of his gourmet coffee when we arrived as well as a tour of the backyard pool area. We were made to feel welcome and well cared for. It is in a historical neighborhood close to the Ringling Museum and a short walk to the water so we enjoyed the location and a quick drive to our favorite Sarasota landmarks and restaurants. I highly recommend this cottage and hope to revisit again soon!
