Incredible! Pics don’t do it justice!
We loved Sailpast. I have three kids and they slept together in the bedroom. My husband and I slept in the pull-out in the main room and were awed to wake up every morning to the most beautiful sunrise. The grounds are incredible and we took full advantage of relaxing in the gazebo and on the hammocks. The kitchen was fully stocked with utensils and more than just the basics for food. Lots of thought went into details, such as Super soft linens, great pillows and thick bath towels. I also appreciated all the games and PEC brochures. All in all, we loved it and would definitely recommend it whether you’re a family or a couple. Jamie and Geoff are amazing hosts!
The property was immaculate and a beautiful location..we enjoyed taking late afternoon swims after visiting local wineries and bonfire on the beach! The kitchen was equipped with all the basics and more..eggs and sausages and homemade bread was such a surprise! and even a smore kit!! I would definitely return here🙂
Prince Edward County Piece of Heaven
Recently, I spent a wonderful weekend in Prince Edward County, with a girlfriend who traveled from Toronto, for a little R&R. We chose SailPast as our VRBO of choice, and we were certainly not disappointed.
This property is, in fact, the end portion of a gorgeous mid-century modern, ranch style home. The space has its own entrance, and is completely self-contained.
We arrived to a loaf of fresh baked bread, wrapped in a tea towel, and a lovely oil & vinegar pairing from the local Kingston Olive Oil Company.
The kitchen is very well appointed and there was a BBQ available, although we didn't get a chance to use it!
The outdoor area of the property is spectacular! There is the gazebo, which I'm sure would be the place to go, if the weather was less than cooperative; and there is the surrounding area, with chairs, a bistro style table; as well as a couple of hammock style lounge chairs, and three suspended/swinging chairs.
The property slopes down to a rocky beach and a small deck area. There is also a dock, with kayaks; available for use (along with life jackets, provided).
Inside, the space is perfect for two. There is a Queen bed in the bedroom, and a pull out couch in the living room. Large windows allow a view (and open to fresh air) of the water.
There is a TV with Netflix; however, we found that simply taking in the view, from the outside, until dark; and then moving inside to perhaps read for a bit, meant we had no need for TV.
We used our spot as home base, while we investigated Bloomfield, Wellington and Picton, and all they had to offer.
The weekend was capped off with fabulous weather; although it was quite variable - quite cool at night (which was perfect for sleeping with windows open) and quite warm by the afternoon of each day.
There are always lots of activities in the County and we also partook of local cuisine (The Miller House, across from Lake of the Mountain was particularly lovely).
It is conveniently located to where the Glenora Ferry arrives/departs, which made it perfect for us, as we took the scenic route from (and back to) Kingston at the beginning (and end) of our weekend.
In the evenings, we watched the sunset, as the Ferry cruised back and forth, between its docks.
Such a peaceful setting, with a variety of wildlife sightings: Monarch Butterfly; deer; herons; woodpeckers; bluejays; and a family of swans (7 including Mom!).
We wouldn't hesitate to go back, and hope that you get a chance to 'SailPast'.
Peaceful retreat on the water
Absolutely fabulous. Well stocked pantry. Didn't need to leave to pick up anything. Really appreciated the late checkout time. Gazebo is warm. The waterfront features sittiting area, firepit, gazebo and boats. Perfect weekend getaway
