About Frank and Carol Marceca
A bucket list dream of mine was to build a log cabin in the Adirondacks in the Lake George area. We love the lake, the mountain trails and streams, and the quiet of the area's wooded tall pine forest in the Northern Basin of Lake George. My wife Carol and I are happy we can share this wonderful hideaway with you and hope you love it as much as we do.
Frank and Carol Marceca purchased this Cabin in 2008
Why Frank and Carol Marceca chose Hague
It's pretty cool to spend some time in an authentic CUSTOM BUILT log cabin, I think comfort and warmth are the best way's to describe it. Located in the rolling hills of Hague gives you that country feel, quiet and private, while having Rodgers Rock state park less than 1 mile away for boat launching, swimming, fishing and hiking. You can still be connected to the world via WIFI and a telephone land line. Ticonderoga is just 6 miles away for a great history lesson at the fort, or most anything you may need to shop for.....antiquing, golfing, mountain hiking, seasonal berry picking, boat rentals, swimming, fishing, kayak rentals.... all less than a 10 minute ride from the cabin.
What makes this Cabin unique
Unique benefits includes WIFI connections and a landline phone, the warm and cozy feel of a log cabin, central a/c for those hot humid days, full laundry room including detergent, fully stocked kitchen with a Mr. coffee maker to use or a Keurig, filtered well water, Weber gas BBQ, cooking on the gas stove(propane), paddle fans in most rooms, custom tiled 2nd floor shower with a large soaking tub, parking for a boat, fire pit, horseshoe pits, proximity to the lake, 1 mile... proximity to Ticonderoga, only 6 miles, Ferry to Vermont, about 9 miles, kayak rentals only 1 mile away a Rodgers Rock where you can also launch a boat, go swimming, fishing or hiking..... You can plan a day rafting trip to the mighty Hudson River , only 45 minute ride, Zip lining about 30 minute ride, and more like horse back riding, lake George village, Vermont, all an easy short ride from the cabin...

Loved the house and enjoyed lots of activities in the area
We really like the style of traditional log houses. This vacation home had lots to offer beyond the romantic flair. The house itself is spacious and very well maintained. No modern amenities that you have to miss.
The area around invites for a lot of fun activities, from lake, to trails, to historic sites. The cabin worked well as the home base for all our trips and a great place to return to in the afternoon. We enjoyed our time playing in the yard or sitting together on the deck or around the bonfire.
We stayed for two weeks during summer with four kids from newborn to age 8 and would come again!
Great place to relax and enjoy the lake
Beautiful place located near the lake. Our family of 5 had a phenomenal week of fishing, hiking, enjoying the mountains. This place comes highly recommended if you're going to Lake George to relax but still have some of the amenities of home.
One of the Best Vacations we have had in a long time!
First I have to say that the owners of this home in the woods could not have done more to help us feel right at home in Hague NY. Gave us a list of all the items we would need for the stay in this beautiful cabin, also gave us a list of area attractions, & restaurants to go to, that was much appreciated, We were welcomed to the cabin by a small arrangement of fresh cut wild flowers on the table on the deck. (How did they know that Daises are my favorite flower?!)We actually enter though the basement entrance & there were two large sitting areas, very neat and tidy and the utility room with washer & dryer, which is a necessity for a family of 5. Walked up to the to a large open floor plan, living area, kitchen and slider to the breath taken deck. The boys quickly claimed their spot for the week, which was a little hard to do, due to all the choices they had. Again all the bedrooms and bathroom clean and neat, we felt right at home in no time. The deck got plenty of use, it was so nice to start our day out in the sunshine with a cup of coffee, just listening to the chirping of the birds, and the occasional sound of the a rooster squawking from the small farm down the street. Also the
sound of the babbling brook to the left of the home & the trees blowing in the wind, so relaxing. Did occasionally here a vehicle pass by the home, but due to where the house is set up off the road it was very faint, and very infrequent. We spent a lot of our time on beautiful Lake George from a small beach area, Roger's Rock a state park in Hague that is 5 minutes from the cabin. We did spend one day at Lake George Village and did some sight seeing and then we eat at Lakeside Lodge & did shopping in Bolton Landing. Also our oldest went Zip lining with 2 friends, not my idea of fun, so the rest of the family went to Fort Ticonderoga for a history lesson. A few evenings after our day excursions the kids made a fire in the fire pit in the side yard, was great to have the chance to sit around the fire and catch up with one another, which isn't always easy to do when we are all wrapped up in our daily routine at home. All and all things were great and very relaxing! We have lots of good memories to share and we will definitely come back to this cabin in the woods!
great experience can't wait to do it again
We had a great time. The cabin is beautiful and is in a beautiful location. We are already looking forward to next year
Great stay in beautiful home!
Frank and Carol have a beautiful, spacious, comfortable home. Our party of 8 (2 families of four each with a 9 yo and a 13 yo) enjoyed a wonderful 4 days. Rogers Rock beach is about 3 mins away and a great place to swim and canoe. Ft Ticonderoga is about 15 mins North. Bolton Point about 30 mins and Village of Lake George about 50 mins away. Kids loved the house too!
Very rustic area but there was a Super Walmart and other standards about 15 mins away. Fire pit allowed us to make smores and look at the amazing stargazing show. Hearing the stream flow by was so relaxing. We were speechless at the amazing night sky. Kitchen is stocked even if some items are a bit older. Central a/c, lighting, ceiling fans, game room, washer/dryer and modern bathrooms all contributed to the great stay. Frank was always only a text away if we needed anything. Cell service was impossible but typical for pretty much the same throughtout a 15 min ride up and down Rt 9. Wifi in cabin was strong. Thank you for allowing us to use your rustic home.
Beautiful home in the Adirondacks
A log cabin with all the amenities of home. Located close to hiking trails and Lake George. The Rogers Rock camp a couple of miles away is a great place to swim, rent Kayak and canoes and relax. We had lunch a couple of days at the Emerald restaurant overlooking the golf course, the food was excellent. The kids liked the ice cream at Windchills. The house has a air hockey table which was well utilized. There are board games in the house, which we did not get to. The cherry was the Wi-fi, which no kid can do without these days. My nephew loved the bunk beds and gives the house 6 stars. The place was clean and comfortable. We enjoyed our stay.
Charming, clean and relaxing best describe the Cabin, while only 1 mile to Rodgers Rock state park on lake George, where a Guarded beach, boat launch, kayak rentals, and the cool clean waters of the lakes northern basin is easily accessible...... Then Just a few minutes ride to historic Ticonderoga where you can catch a revolutionary war re-enactment at the Fort, or just take a tour for a great site seeing and learning experience. While in town, visit the many restaurants and stores including a WalMart, Rite aid, Stewarts gas station, and other stores with most anything you may need while in the Adirondacks. When your done in Ticonderoga, stop by the Wind Chill ice cream parlor and see why everyone talks about their ice cream..... In the center of Hague, stop by the visitors center to get any information you may want, with a free public beach and park..... Just a short walk from the beach, is our small town of Hague, main street with a general store, restaurant, churches, antiquing and night life. Lake George, with its crystal clean water,(homes around the lake get their drinking water from it) is a wonderful lake known as the Queen of the American Lakes. There is much to do, swimming, boating, diving, tubing, jet skiing, fishing, island hopping and picnicking on an island. After a fun filled day on the lake, watch the beautiful summer sunsets over the mountains. Take your time traveling to any of these destinations because the scenic ride and its beauty along Rt. 9 are not to be missed. Bolton Landing, about a 25 minute ride away, is a great place to shop and dine. Check out the museum in town to get a real feel of the history of the area. Only about 9 miles away, the Ferry boat in Ticonderoga is where you can cross Lake Champlain into Vermont, car and all, and go ( Depending on the season) apple and Berry picking or just take a ride to one of the many towns and attractions like the Vermont teddy bear factory, or the Cabot cheese store and plant......Some of the other adventures minuets from the cabin are Zip Lining, white water rafting, horse back riding, charter boat fishing, boat rentals, Kayak rental, hiking, mountain or rock climbing, cliff diving, antique shopping and more..... But you may just find the most relaxing time, on the deck of the cabin, listening to the calming sounds of the stream or wind through the trees, especially at night , will put you in a peaceful and thankful place to be able to enjoy all the beauty that we have been blessed with, while sharing these wonderful moments with your family and friends..... ENJOY!!!!!!
