Cozy, homey-feel getaway home:)
House was very clean and cozy and easy to get to. Ma’s Place was a restaurant right down the street with great food! Went with my fiancé and our daughter so it was perfect for a family! Would definitely come back :)
Great for families to enjoy UP
The home was cozy and great!. Right in the town of Wakefield, Mi. We enjoyed the time there, you are close to the ski hills, hiking trails and several look outs.
Copper Peak is not far away with amazing views of 3 states, Lake Superior and in a clear sky sometimes Canada. We enjoyed the comfort of the home close to everything.
Cozy place to come home to while away from home
Everything was as listed. They've done a nice job of adding some modernization to an older home (especially liked the hot water dispenser for tea, etc. in the kitchen - thanks). It was a great location from which to explore the western U.P. As per the title, it was great to have a cozy place to call home while traveling. We only contacted Kevin and Laura once and their response was prompt and helpful. Thanks for a great stay
Clean, convenient to Porcupine mountains
Kevin was very responsive and addressed all of my questions in a friendly and thorough way. The house was the setup that we needed with three bedrooms, and while not a new and updated home, it was very clean and tidy. Wakefield itself looks like it has seen better days, but there is a lovely bakery down the street, and Sunday Lake is a big hit for kids with a swimmable lake and wonderful playground. We were able to do quite a bit of hiking in the Porcupine mountains; the visitor's center is about an hour away, but other parts of the park can be reached more quickly. We enjoyed our time here as a family. Do consider it if you're thinking about the area - you won't beat the value!
Great location for walking the lake and driving into the Porcupine Mtns. for hiking and sightseeing. Everything you need is provided. Has the feel of grandmas house. It was alittle warm so we could have used more working windows and air conditioners. And maybe window coverings that helped keep the sun out during the day.
The Last Resort-Best Place for 4th of July!
Appropriately named and served our purposes. Although the house is a bit quirky, it was clean and comfortable. Well-stocked with all the necessities. Situated in a small town near all state parks. Spectacular firework show over the lake. You can see from the bedroom window or a block walk.
