Nice, but smaller than it looks
The house was nice and fit our needs perfectly but the photos are a bit misleading. Not nearly as spacious as the photos would suggest. It does get a lot of nice natural light though. And the game room is just a cold unfinished garage so wouldn't count on getting much use out of that space in the winter. Great location though close to the resort.
Great house & location
Great long weekend in the mountains
Loved our stay at Hawksbill house. Very well equipped and lovely comfy beds. The children loved the swing set and had fun playing hide and seek in the trees around the house. Had fun in the games room and around the fire pit. The weather was great and plenty of activities on offer within the Massanutten resort. The Massanutten water Park was very expensive though, $146 for 2 adults and 2 children under 5. Ok, maybe, if staying all day but not if just a quick visit. Great cafes and restaurants outside the resort and really friendly staff. Had a great long weekend.
Convenient to our timeshare, pets allowed, great setting
Overall, very nice. Owners need to do some repairs, like outdoor furniture and dining room chairs. Beds were good, kitchen was pretty well stocked for cooking. Very difficult figuring out how to use the TV DVD - luckily our millennial kids came to the the rescue. Loved the neighborhood. Great for walking the dog.
Exceeded our expectations!
The Hawksbill house is both charming and inviting. We immediately felt at home. My husband, daughter and I, as well as my daughter's friend, all decided we would love to come back next year. We were in the area for a Jennie Finch Softball camp but did get to enjoy the resort's water park as well as a few local restaurants and the Harrisonburg area. We would wholeheartedly recommend this quaint property to any one!
Glad you enjoyed the place, I hope you will return again one day!
We stayed for 1 week and for the most part the house was clean and
comfortable. The showers were great. Loved the Keurig. Kitchen had plenty of items for cooking. There were things in the house that needed some TLC and in my opinion would not take long to fix. The dishwasher did not work the whole time we were there. The kitchen faucet dripped. There were two kitchen chairs broken and were unable to be used. There was five in our party and only 4 useable chairs around kitchen table. My husband and I stayed in a downstairs bedroom. The bed was comfortable but was very low to the floor which made it very hard to get in and out. The closets downstairs were so full of stuff, you did not have any room to hang clothes. Upstairs blinds were broken in 1 bedroom. All the furniture outside needed cleaned. These to me are just minor things, had they been fixed would have made our stay more comfortable.
We have taken your advice and addressed all of those issues. Thank you for your feed back and I hope you will return again sometime. :-)
