Great holiday experience.

  • 5 of 5

I was there with my friends for new year, it was excellent experience. There were several rooms for enough privacy for everyone and sufficient space for 7 people to sit together in dining area or living room. Backyard is also beautiful. Place is very silent and good locality as well I would like to add its safe. I will definitely recommend to all my friends. It is very close to Bourbone street and other prime locations in New Orleans.

Owner's Response: Nidhi and her friends were wonderful guests! They were a friendly and polite group of young adults with a young child who came to New Orleans to celebrate the New Year together. They utilized the house in a very respectful manner. There was no damage and they even emptied all their garbage in the outside can, washed their dishes, and folded the dirty linens and towels so they could easily be collected. They made us very happy when they explained to us how much they enjoyed themselves before leaving for home. They are welcome back anytime our calendar has availability! A+ :)

It is a dump.

  • 1 of 5

The house was in a good location for our event but it was the worst VRBO experience ever for me. An upstairs bedroom was locked; so they moved a couple of worn out twin beds into the dining room! -really. There is a five inch gap between the wall and the floor in the downstairs back bedroom, where over time moisture has taken it's toll. We stuff the drafty whole with a rug.

The refrigerator was loaded with old crap leaving no room for our stuff. Mold, dirt and neglect were obvious throughout the house. We missed our special breakfasts because we didn't want to cook on the nasty stove top.

The back deck is worn out as is all the furniture in the house.

If I were in charge of verbo, I'd remove this listing.

Owner's Response: It was suggested by VRBO that I create an apologetic response to this guest to demonstrate to future guests that we are addressing these concerns. We have great concern towards all our guest! I really hate to play the bias card but It was obvious that when you arrived that you were intent on being a risk to my business . If you give somebody three stars then there are probable issues that need to be addressed honestly, but if you give somebody one star and call the place a dump, when when there is clear evidence based on over 2yrs that strongly suggest otherwise then perhaps the problem is you. As I kindly explained upon your arrival we live in the house next door and if were any questions or concerns to please please text and let us know. ( we purchased and moved my late mother-in-law there after Katrina. This explains why we reserved one bedroom to lock her antique china and furniture in is a we plan to pass it down one day to our kids and certainly wouldn’t want college kids resting the beer cans on it) We heard not a peep regarding any concerns until this review mysteriously appeared. This house is professionally cleaned after every guest. What you see in the VRBO website pictures is accurate. We have been members on VRBO since 2016 and have had dozens of happy guests that loved the place. I regret that I did not request reviews more often. I can assure you that if others found the place to be a dump and the worst experience ever they would have certainly made note . This review is ridiculous. I also suggested to VRBO that they might want to consider having agents in the city that can actually come to the properties to make their own critical analysis of the situations. One persons prejudice or bias or should not carry the sort of weight to affect somebody’s business and go unconfirmed or verified.

Perfect location, hospitable host

  • 4 of 5

A nice quaint little home in the perfect location for a St Patty's Day weekend meet up with friends.

We traveled from Indiana and met friends from Texas. The house was the perfect size for us all to sleep comfortably with one upstairs bedroom and two bedrooms downstairs and the dining room converted for sleeping with two full beds. The host was very accommodating for us and cleared out space for us to park our three motorcycles for the weekend. We enjoyed the back patio area and sat out and enjoyed the warm weather throughout the weekend when not site seeing. Edward was very helpful in finding the good local eateries. It was also nice to have water and beer left in the fridge waiting after our long ride in. Will surely stay here again when coming back to NOLA. Thanks Edward!

Very Nice!

  • 5 of 5

This home is spacious, and clean. It is near Bourbon Street and the French Quarter. It’s tucked away in a very nice neighborhood that is quiet and safe. We had easy access to the Convention Center and downtown. I would definitely stay here again.

Older home needs a little TLC

  • 2 of 5

We were in town for a family wedding. The property was a little farther from the French Quarter than we anticipated. We needed to Uber almost everywhere. We had an issue with the front door locking properly and needed to leave from the back door, which wasn't very convenient. The house was clean, but needs a little maintenance. The owner was pretty responsive, but the door never was fixed and we ended up leaving a couple days early

Bowlers love The Big Easy!

  • 4 of 5

Thank you, Edward, for the wonderful place to relax amid the hustle and bustle of New Orleans. We had a great time at the house. Just a few items that we noted, but nothing major that lessened our enjoyment of your house. Toilet in downstairs bathroom ran all the time. Twin mattresses probably need to be turned, girls reported they were slanted to one side or the other. Dirty spoon and spoon rest left on stove. Don't know when last cleaned, but some dust was evident and floors needed to be swept. We didn't find a dishrag in the kitchen. We would recommend as it was very convenient to our destination of the French Quarter.
