Space 2,712 sq. ft.
Property type house
Minimum Stay 3 nights

About the property

Luxurious multi-level home with unimpeded panoramic ocean view from every floor. The 3rd floor balcony and top 2 floor lanais have glass panels so nothing blocks your view while lounging on the deck or relaxing on the balcony. The roof-top crow’s nest is perfect for sun bathing or watching whales migrate right off-shore. Both lots on either side of the house are vacant, providing complete privacy. Night time star watching is an entirely new experience as there is little ambient light in the immediate area. Below the house are lava tide pools teaming with sea life.

A private elevator and stairs provide access to four floors with 3 beautifully appointed bedrooms and 3.5 bathrooms. In the master bedroom is a king size, iComfort® split adjustable bed with massage settings. The second bedroom also has a king size bed. The third bedroom has a bunk bed with a twin on top and a double on the bottom.

The view alone is worth every penny!

Have you ever dreamed of staying in a place where you could listen to the waves crash all night long? Have you ever dreamed of napping in the open air with ocean breezes all around you? Then make your dreams come true by staying in this property like we did! The master is on the shore side of the home so you really can be lulled to sleep by the waves in a bed that is soooo comfortable! The top deck is a beautiful place to have a morning coffee or nap and to breathe some of the cleanest air in the world. This place has everything you could possibly need, from plenty of linens to a very well stocked kitchen. We grocery shopped on the first day and forgot a few things, like plastic wrap, but it was there! It was also nice having a washer/dryer so we had clean beach clothes and towels every day. I even laundered all my clothes on the last night so when I got home I had no laundry to do and they had everything I needed to take care of that too! It was just two of us on my stay but there is plenty of room for many more, the bedrooms are spacious and the main living area is very large, a family can definitely spread out and be comfortable! There is amazing snorkeling and hiking within about 30 minutes of this property as well as grocery shopping. The KTA in hilo has a wonderful bakery with lots of options for morning treats and their is also a local bakery/coffee place called the tin shack that is very good, especially for fresh bread. This is the rainy side of the island but even with a lot of rain it cleared long enough every day for us to enjoy all of the beautiful places around it. We snorkeled and hiked every day and their was a cooler at the property that we packed each morning so we could have drinks and snacks with us all the time, it was great! The home is also well stocked with maps and travel books that were very helpful. What fun it was to rest in the amazing comfort of the living room each night and look at the books of all the fish we had seen snorkeling in the water that day. Ending the day here was as blissful as starting it, sometimes I hated to leave as it was just so beautiful enjoying the views, it really never got old! I can't wait to get back to this amazing place. Even if I had never left the home and just watched the water all day enjoying a little treat with my kona coffee it would have been an amazing vacation! Also, the owners are some of the nicest I have ever rented from and I've rented MANY properties!

Excellent Views

  • 4 of 5

A very comfortable and well furnished home with fantastic views of the ocean. There is a small village about 15 minuets away with a really good Thai and Italian restaurants. Only an hour to valcano and 30 minutes to Hilo. Great location with lots of privacy and room. And wait until you see the stars from the top floor “crows nest”!!

Laguna Beach CA....soul resides in the Big Island

Closer to God: Little Bliss on the Big Island

  • 5 of 5

Oh how splendid and intoxicating it is to see the waves of the ocean kiss the shore all day and night, with never tiring.

One cannot nurture themselves enough these days..hectic schedules, budgets, guilty feelings of buyer's remorse. This 4 level home delivered in a big way! Spacious, full loaded and I cannot express enough the VIEW!! Every story looks out on to the mighty Pacific and feels her powerful force lend you the Hawaiian "Spirit Wind" as only the Big Island can.. extraodinary for the price. Star gaze at night on the Crows nest✨

Only thing I can think of was to be bit closer to Hilo town and air conditioning would've been a dream! Hot in August🔥? Thank you!

We recently stayed at this property, and I have not stopped thinking about it since we left. All of the positive reviews are accurate. The home is beautiful and very well maintained. We traveled as a family with two sons, 25 and 20, and our daughter,13. The house was very spacious for everyone to have time alone when needed. The best spots are the main floor, which is located on the 3rd floor and has an open kitchen , dining area and living room, all looking out over the beautiful ocean. The roof top was also a favorite gathering spot, as well as a place for me to do yoga, and my son to get the most magnificent photos of the night sky. The master bedroom is exquisite as well, with beautiful views of the water and the sound of the crashing waves lulled us to sleep every night. There is a real feeling of zen throughout the house and the owners invested in making this feel like a retreat and a home at the same time. Speaking of the owners, they are unbelievably kind ,concerned and always available by text or call. There is someone who over sees the house, who can shop for you before you come and makes sure you have everything you need. This is not a tourist area, and so you get a feel for island living. The town of Pahoa is a little hippy village with a few great restaurants, an organic market as well as a grocery store. We ziplined, snorkled and took a hike to see the live lava flow at Kilauea Volcano, which was the highlight of our time there. If you are interested in Volcanoes, you could spend days going to the Hawaii Volcanos National Park. There are also some fun local events to attend. The only thing you need to know when coming here, do not expect to find white sand beaches and the black sand beaches are really just for viewing. I highly recommend this lovely home.

An amazingly beautiful property! You will not be disappointed!

  • 5 of 5

This home is as spectacular as it gets for your family's stay on the East Coast of Hawaii! We are a family of six and this home suited us wonderfully! The owner communicated with us ahead of the trip and helped coordinate our meeting with the house manager, who gave us a fabulous tour upon arrival and gave us wonderful suggestions for activities during our stay. The view from all floors was incredible! We saw sea turtles and dolphins from the lanai! The kitchen was incredibly well stocked with everything you would ever need for cooking and dining. The top floor lanai had incredible views of the stars at night! The entire house is decorated beautifully in a mix of Asian and Hawaiian decor. Air conditioning wasn't missed even in August with there being a constant ocean breeze and opening windows cooled the house nicely. The elevator was a huge plus when bringing in luggage or groceries. The location was great for driving to Volcanoes National Park. Ahalanui Park was an easy drive to take the kids swimming in protected thermal water. Uncle Robert's on Wednesday night was a great cultural and gastronomic experience. The little town of Pahoa has restaurants, a drugstore, and market. I would love to stay here in the winter for whale watching! It must be incredible! There is a public park area right next door that does draw a few people and is open 24/7. It is frequented mostly by neighbors walking their dogs, locals fishing, or just people enjoying the view. There is an area where people can park very near the house, but the driveway is gated and no one ever parked in front of the house. Even on a Saturday night, when there were a few cars in the park, we were never bothered by noise or felt unsafe. Just make sure the blinds are closed on that side when you are in a state of undress! ;-)

We hope to make it back in the winter and spend more time at this spectacular home in Hawaiian paradise! Thanks for sharing your beautiful home with us!

Beautiful home, but NOT kid-friendly

  • 3 of 5

The home was beautiful and the photos are accurate. What you don't realize until you get there is there are a TON of knick-nacks on every surface. If you have kids, don't expect to get your deposit back because something will break.

We had an awful time with the heat in the house. Only about half of the windows have screens and we were warned about the massive amount of bugs that are attracted by the lights, so it was extremely hot in the entire house. The ceiling fan in the Master bedroom did not work so we were sweating and uncomfortable every night. The beautiful top deck could not be used often due to the massive amount of bugs. We sprayed down all decks every day and purchased bug repellent for the areas, but it didn't help much. The 2nd bedroom has windows facing the road and you hear cars most nights coming/leaving the park next door (most of the nights between midnight and 3am). The noise was heard with closed windows (because there were not any screens on the 2nd bedroom windows).

The local rep for the house was not available the first day due to her phone issues, but the local restaurants were extremely helpful. We expressed our screen, fan and bug concerns with her but didn't get assistance. The owner contacted us during our stay, but could not do much since they were not local.

Overall, if you are not used to heat and humidity 24/7 or if you have kids, I do not recommend this house.

Owner's Response: We value our guest’s feedback and strive to make improvements to ensure that your stay at our house is a memorable experience. All valid issues cited by this review have been addressed. Missing windows screens have been installed. Additional standing fans have been provided for rooms without ceiling fans. Pest fumigation will continue to be scheduled for every three months. Many of the decorative and non-essential items have been removed. In all fairness, we did try to resolve those issues that were brought to our attention during this guest’s stay. Upon notification of the missing windows screens, we contacted the window cleaner and learned that the missing window screens were in the garage. We informed the guest of their location so that he can put them back on if he wished. As to the ceiling fan in the master bedroom, it was functional. The fan cord turns it on/off and the wall switch controls its speed settings. This guest may not have located the switch to change the fan speed. Lastly, part of the damage deposit was retained to replace a damage toilet seat, not to replace damaged “knick-knacks” as asserted. To compensate for the inconveniences caused by the missing widow screens, we waived the extra fees for two additional, previously undisclosed, guests. We regret that this guest was not completely satisfied with the accommodations. We disagree with the claim that our house is not kid-friendly. Most of our other guests have been families with children and none has given a review other than a five-stars.
