Capitol Hill is the largest historic residential neighborhood in DC. Our neighborhood is extremely walkable and safe, just 2 blocks from the National Mall including the Capitol, Library of Congress and Supreme Court. We're located on a large, quiet park but with restaurants, bars, and shops 2 blocks away. There are also public tennis courts, volleyball courts, bocce pits, and children's playgrounds within 2 blocks. The Nationals' baseball stadium is less a mile away and easily walkable as well.
Capitol South metro (DC's subway system) is 1.5 blocks away which you can take to get anywhere in the city and surrounding cities (Arlington VA, Alexandria VA, Bethesda MD, etc). There is also a Bikeshare station across the street where you can rent bikes for cheap and return them at any station in the city. We'll provide you one free parking pass so you can park anywhere in the neighborhood and many surrounding neighborhoods. Additional parking passes are $50. Reagan National Airport (DCA) is a 10 min taxi ride or you can take the metro.
