Had a great week
Great week at G 209
We love Sea Colony and will always go back as this community meets all of our needs. The condo was a little outdated, but still very nice and met our needs for a relaxing week. The view of the beach and ocean was great for having coffee and catching the sunrise from the balcony. The mattresses In 2nd and 3rd bedrooms probably need replacing. Steps to pool and beach. Would go back to this condo.
Reasonable accommodations but poor customer service
When we arrived on Friday night, there was no hot water in the condo. This was an issue for us especially with a baby in tow. We called the emergency phone number, which is a separate agency, and they told us that they had been instructed not to consider lack of hot water an "emergency" and that we would have to wait until the rental company re-opened. The issue was solved the next day, but the rental company refused to offer any sort of partial reimbursement. In my opinion this is poor customer service.
Other issues upon check-in included that one of the bath mats was absolutely soaking wet (no clue why) and the wifi password was incorrect in the book (we eventually found the correct one on the router). Other than that the condo was perfectly comfortable, though the kitchen items could use some updating and re-stocking. In the end we did have a nice time.
Thank You Hilary for the review.
Unfortunately these things can happen and we pride ourselves in handling them ASAP. While we do again apologize for the inconvenience of the hot water issue, the rental staff, once notified, were quick to respond and fix the issue.
In the end, we are glad you were able to still enjoy your stay and have a great time at the property.
Very nice place.
Nice place, only thing was the kids wanted to swim after the beach but the outdoor pool closed to early.
Good Location but needs work
The location of the condo was nice, but there were several issues that need to be addressed. When we arrived, the condo had not been cleaned well. The washer was covered with sand and blue laundry detergent. The balcony was sandy as were the chairs. We found clothes in a drawer and toys etc laying around under furniture. Only one of the keys would lock the door even though we went back and got two more from the realty company. The other two they gave us would not lock the door either. This is a problem if we weren't all going to the same place. It meant that someone had to be in the condo if the people with the working key were somewhere else.
The first thing we had to do was tighten screws on the bedroom door since the handle was so loose, you couldn't get in. There were also nails hanging out of the frame around the den door which we had to pound in. The furniture was showing wear and tear, and the hide a bed was so uncomfortable that we had to bring in a blow up queen mattress to put on the floor of the living room for sleeping purposes. The wall paper in the one bathroom was peeling from the wall by the shower, and there were signs of mold.
We did call the realty company, and they sent maids in to clean the washer, but the key issue was never resolved.
The parking at this facility is ridiculous. You literally drive around to find your one spot. There is no organization to the parking places whatsoever. When you finally find your spot, good luck getting into it. If you have a second car, you'll be fortunate to find a space for it. They charge you $40.00 a person on top of the rent for activities and parking passes and then don't guarantee you a second space. We finally found one of three spaces left on the other side of rt 1. Needless to say, we never moved our car all week.
I will say that all the people who work at Sea Colony are very friendly. They often can't solve your problem, but send you over to the Marketplace across the road which is the biggest organizational mess I've ever seen. That's where you pay your fee after picking up your keys at Maggio Realty.
By the time we finally got to our condo, I had decided that we'd never come back to this facility or condo again. There are just too many people crammed in a small area, and the facilities are not sufficient.
Great view, nice space
The view from the balcony, the living room, and the master bedroom is great. You can watch the sunrise without getting out of bed. The kitchen was well-equipped for everything we needed for the week's stay and the place was immaculate when we arrived. I rented linens and everything was where they said it would be when we got there.
Sea Colony is a great resort with activities for the kids. It was nice being steps from the beach and pool. There were even some sand toys left in the condo to use. We rented chairs and umbrellas for the week, so that made an already easy jaunt to the beach even easier. The bethany boardwalk is walkable from the beach outside of the resort. We will definitely stay here again.
