Overview

About the property

Large art-filled suite in West Asheville has four rooms. A spacious bedroom, sitting room, kitchen and bath with private entrance. The suite occupies the entire downstairs of our home on a quiet street.

Within walking distance of Haywood Road and a short drive to downtown Asheville's great restaurants, breweries, art districts, and the Biltmore Estate.

You're also close to great seasonal outdoor activities like rafting, hiking, biking, fly fishing, skiing, or cruising the Blue Ridge Parkway.

Come enjoy a quiet retreat on an acre of land at the end of a cul-de-sac with a large beautiful yard that you are welcome to enjoy. Smith Mill Creek runs for 1000 feet along it's edge and we have forested lots at both ends. Yet you are only a half mile from a local brewery and in easy walking distance to many of the locals favorite haunts on Haywood Road in West Asheville. You have a private entrance, driveway parking, while enjoying close proximity to the wonderful restaurants, breweries, scenic views and outdoor adventures that make Asheville such a unique and cherished destination.

Just outside the apartment is a bistro set and you are welcome to use other aspects of our property as well. The yard is a nice place to walk, practice chipping your golf ball, throw a frisbee, or just sit and enjoy nature. There are lots of places to hang hammocks as well. You may use our corn hole boards for a bit of fun. There are two fire pits for relaxation and conversation with one located in our pergola. While the larger fire pit is in our back yard.

The upstairs is our living space. We do live there so you may hear us, but we work very hard to be as quiet and respectful of noise as possible. Melanie and I, Mark, are very social and may invite you up for a visit, but we will respect your privacy and leave you to set your own agenda.

My wife and I really enjoyed staying at the Artist's Retreat in West Asheville, NC. The apartment was the perfect size, very comfortable and close to all of our favorite locations in the city and the surrounding mountains.

It was fun and artistic and clean.

The owners are great. Very friendly and helpful. I loved the property with lots of trees and a creek running thru it. And I thought West Asheville was funky and fun with fabulous restaurants and music. Close to everything Asheville-has to offer. I would stay there again any time I’m in the area.

Excellent location; attentive owner

Nice, clean, lower-level apartment filled with art. We stayed here to visit Biltmore and it was a good location for that. The West end also had a good selection of restaurants.

Asheville is Beer City, USA! With 27 breweries and more on the way, it leads the country in the Craft Beer scene. It is home to the East Coast operations for both New Belgium and Sierra Nevada brewing companies. It is also one of the top ten cities in the USA for Art Deco architecture and of course home to the fabulous Biltmore Estate built by George Vanderbilt. It resides in the beautiful Blue Ridge Mountains and straddles the French Broad River. Asheville is home to many artists and crafts folk as well, hosting the Southern Highland Craft Fair twice annually. Just a short drive away is the Blue Ridge Parkway and access to great hiking, white water rafting, floating the river, mountain biking and 4000 miles of world class fly fishing streams. There's always something to do here.
