3 Bedrooms, 3 Baths, Sleeps 14
Rocky Top Retreat is just minutes from all the must-visit attractions of Pigeon Forge and neighboring Gatlinburg. But there’s so much to enjoy in the 3-bedroom, 3-story log cabin, you’ll also have a great time just staying in.
The spacious downstairs game room, for instance, features both a full-size billiard table and a foosball table. It has a large flat-screen TV too, along with a plush sofa where you can stretch out and indulge in a movie marathon.
A 2nd flat-panel TV—and more delightfully comfortable seating—can be found one flight up, in the main floor’s living room. Whether you’re watching TV or not, you can enjoy the golden glow of the fireplace, which heightens the luster of the wood-planked walls, floor, and beamed ceiling. Large windows enable you to admire the Great Smoky Mountains while your sprawl out on the living room sofas or play a game with the kids at the dining table in the next room.
For an even better view of the mountains and the surrounding woodlands, head outside to one of Rocky Top Retreat’s 3 covered decks. Totaling more than 800 square feet, the decks are furnished with rocking chairs—a must for any Smoky Mountain cabin. Bring your morning coffee outside and let the wrens and sparrows serenade you as you start your day, or longer under the star-studded evening sky before calling it a night.
An even more luxurious way to revel in nature’s beauty is while lazing in the main deck’s hot tub. There’s nothing like watching the sunset over the mountains as jets of steamy water soothe body and soul. It’s a treat for the senses you’ll long remember.
You can cook outdoors too, on Rocky Top Retreat’s gas grill. Of course, the cabin has a fully equipped kitchen indoors as well. Even if you dine out for most of your meals—and there are scores of restaurants just a few minutes away—you’ll love the convenience of being able to microwave popcorn or brew coffee whenever you want. And if you do decide to cook, you’ll find enough appliances, cookware, and tableware to prepare even a holiday feast.
Rocky Top Retreat’s 3 bedrooms and 3 bathrooms are spread out, one on each floor. The upstairs bedroom is huge, with a king-size bed at one end and a futon that can sleep 2 more people at the other. The room has a private deck as well, with a truly spectacular view of the mountains. The en-suite bathroom includes an oversized soaking tub with its own stunning view. And a ladder from the bedroom leads to a loft that houses 2 more futons so that another 2 people can sleep there.
The main floor’s bedroom has its own private bathroom and log-frame king-size bed. And the game room can sleep up to 4 people in the queen-size bunk beds. If there are kids in your group, they’ll probably beg to be allowed to sleep here; after all, who wouldn’t want a foosball table in his or her bedroom?
Rocky Top Retreat is located in Black Bear Ridge resort, which means that in the summer you’ll have free access to the outdoor swimming pool. It also means that the cabin is just 5 minutes from the Pigeon Forge Parkway, the town’s main thoroughfare. Dollywood, Splash Mountain, the Titanic Museum, outlet shopping, and more are just a quick ride away. Drive just a few minutes more and you’re in Gatlinburg, home to the Guinness World Records Museum, an aquarium, thrill rides, and Ober Gatlinburg Amusement Park and Ski Area. And let’s not forget the Great Smoky Mountains National Park: No vacation in the area is complete without an excursion there.
When you stay at Rocky Top Retreat, you really can do it all. First, though, you need to book your stay… before someone else beats you to it!

Nice cabin on top of the mountain but horrible community pool
The cabin was very clean upon arrival minus the random scorpion found in the basement shower stall and the 2 broken spindles on the bottom deck, which meant we blocked that deck off so our small children would not access it. The Hot tub was great to have since the community pool was absolutely gross. I didnt allow my children to swim in it at all. Not sure how often that was maintained with all the bugs/bandages and other feminine products that were floating in it. So basically if your looking for a cabin with great views on top of a mountain that accommodates a larger group this place could be for you. However if your looking for a place with a nice community pool for swimming do not go here. With that being said I will not be returning to this cabin or community again.
Bob, thank you for taking the time to share your comments. We apologies that the community pool was not up to standards. Unfortunately this is out of our area of management. We want you to know that the issues with the deck have been repaired. Again, thank you for taking the time to review our property. Your input helps us to meet all guests expectations upon arrival.
Our church group was impressed with the cabin. The view was our favorite! Be prepared to be on top of the mountain. The porch railings on the lower level were way too loose and even had missing rails. If you have small children this would be a problem. Sent an email to maintenance so hopefully it'll be fixed soon. For a home that sleeps 14 there is only seating for four in the dining area. This wasn't a huge deal but it would be nice to have a few more seats. We loved that each level had its on bath. The third level had a jacuzzi. The lower level was a hit with the guys. Be aware that parking is limited. We were fine with a church van and one other vehicle but our neighbors had over eight and parked all in front of our place. If you must bring more than two to three vehicles you have overflow parking down the lane. We would definitely come back.
Thank you Ashley for staying with us. We are glad you enjoyed your stay and the beautiful view.
Great view and plenty of room
Great time with friends. The cabin was clean. Unfortunately, there weren't 3 bedrooms, which made it difficult for others to turn in early. There is only one true bedroom. The other two, one loft on the upper level and a game room on the lower level. This made it difficult for some to turn in early, because you could hear the conversations of ppl on the bottom level while lying in bed on the upper level. Other than that it was fine.
Check in and out was a breeze.
Thank you for sharing your comments on Rocky Top Retreat. We are please that you had a great time with friend on your trip to the Smoky Mountains. We look forward to having you stay with us again on a future stay in our area.
The Cabin is a spacious place at the top of the hill and quite close to Pigeon Forge, while being a little away from the hustle and bustle of Wears Valley Rd and Pigeon Forge Main street.
It is spacious and the sit-outs, grill and hot-tub not to mention the morning views are great. The Beds are good and so are the Bath's. The kitchen is a little smaller than I'd like and we were missing complementary ground coffee. The TV in the Master Bedroom (did'nt matter) is a relic of the past, instructive for kids of what a TV looked like 10 years ago :)
But our kids loved it and we did to.
Thank you Sridhar for staying with us. We are glad you enjoyed your stay.
Not exactly 3 bedrooms
I had to right this review because no one else explained exactly how the home is setup and the pictures are kinda deceptive. First let me say that this home is a 1 bedroom with a huge loft and an open basement! Only 1 room in the home has a door and that is the master on the main. The upstairs has a huge bed, but there is no door; therefore don't expect any hanky panky if the kids are going unless you are in the bathroom. This home is not good for multiple couples maybe parents and their children. The downstairs was leaking when it rained and the queen bunk beds are by the window where the leak is and the beds were wet and they are so heavy that the two large men in our party could not move them. The home was very very clean and smelled really fresh you can tell the cleaning crew does an excellent job keeping the home clean. It is a really nice home; however it is is NOT three bedrooms!
Thank you Karen for taking the time to review Rocky Top Retreat. Your input, as well as all of our guest feed back is vitally important as we want all guests expectations to be met upon arrival. We apologies to you for falling short of expectations. We wanted you to know that the leak has been fixed. Again, thank you for sharing and we look forward to having you stay with us again.
