A Stunning 4 bed villa, large pool, overlooking Caribbean and Atlantic.
This house and land is my 'Caribbean Dream'. I arrived in Tobago 16 years ago. A city woman from London, UK. Fell in love with this beautiful Island and built my cottage and the villa on the land I love. The staff are honest, reliable and kind- hearted people. They make sure our guests feel like family coming home.
Why Sandra chose Black Rock
I bought the land 'in the bush', no water or electric, no houses in sight. The land showed me what and how to build and the rains cut the land just the way it needed to be. Perfect. Truly my Piece of Paradise.
What makes this Villa unique
The views are spectacular, the land rich, bountiful and stunningly beautiful. If you are a 'twitcher' (bird lover) then it is the ideal location to see many species, all beautiful especially the hummingbirds. The land backs onto the bird sanctuary, they know no borders!

Lovely villa in quiet setting and stunning views
We had a wonderful time at Sandra's lovely villa which has a very relaxed colonial feel . The setting and views from the villa were gorgeous and we had everything we needed so no need to venture far. We particularly loved the master bedroom suite with 4 poster bed, comfy private sitting area and walk around balcony/terrace. Local beach was very peaceful too when we were there with good beach bar/restaurant.
I hope we will be able to return to the villa next time we visit Tobago
We had such an amazing time at Mahogany Ridge. What a beautiful home, and the pool and the property were just breathtaking! The drive up to the house took a little getting used to, but it was 1000% worth it! Thank you so much, Sandra, for allowing us a little piece of heaven.
We absolutely loved it!
We couldn’t have asked for more. The view and veranda have been talked about daily since we got back! Sandra, Helen and Gia were wonderful and we are already looking to book again!
Beautiful rainforest getaway on top of Tobago
Beautiful home, lovely views set in a tropical "orchard" with unique citrus trees, flowering bushes and coconut palms. We fell asleep to the sounds of nature and awoke to bird calls of the Chachalaka (pheasant-like birds, fun to say!). The immediate surroundings are well-manicured gardens with plenty of grassy areas leading to a sparkling clean pool and an extensive collection of plants and trees an arborist would be proud to own. We were visited by hummingbirds of all colors, parrots and motmots with brilliant blue plumage. Wildlife trail through the lower gardens well away from you but in view which was fun!
At the end of the road, we felt very safe. The neighbor has 3 large dogs who sound the alarm when anyone approaches on foot or by car making an excellent alarm system. Tobago is friendly, warm and welcoming with none of the terrible crime you hear of on Trinidad. Our excellent driver Kirt Joefield (Joe's Taxi) explained everyone knows each other and has work to do which keeps crime in check.
The top floor is one huge master suite--perfect for honeymooners or new parents needing more living space for a baby. The main floor has 3 suites with one facing the lovely ocean views. Both couples traveling were very content with our accommodations. Showers have an out-door feel with clear-covered roofs--cool! Plenty of hot & cold water, good pressure, though we conserved according to the island recommendations.
Tips: Coffee maker takes basket style filters rather than cone filters. The kitchen has everything including platters, 2 tea kettles and knife sharpener (!). For a rental, much appreciated! Definitely make a shopping list and stop on the way from the airport for supplies; small groceries are walking distance (1+mile downhill) but save time & money on the bulk buy. Fruits/veg are sold at stands outside the grocery store. Wine is expensive (Yellowtail over $20 U.S.!), so plan on rum & beer instead. We made a lovely shandy most mornings instead of mimosas (beer+juice="beer-mosas", trust me, try it).
Tours: Find a guy "Dexter" with a hat; he can arrange off-island glass-bottom boat trip for snorkeling & barbeque on a beach. Take an island tour early (Monday or Tuesday) with Kirt Joefield (Joe's Taxi); he is vice-president of tours for the island and voted #1. His wife is so sweet & she gives tours, too (a birthday boy treated to making chocolate then boogie board @ the beach!!). Most of all, enjoy the sun, pool & your rainforest haven.
stunning views and the perfect hidden getaway....
We have just returned from the most magical 11 days in Tobago and at Mahogany Ridge. The 360° views are better than the photos suggest - you can't turn a corner or open a curtain without a 'wow' moment. Waking up to the sound of tropical birds, and washing up to the scent of limes became addictive and life in rainy grey England is really proving hard to come back to! The house is light and airy, the beds are comfortable, the living area is relaxing and the kitchen is functional. The outside area however is the most beautiful, calming and welcoming space - an abundance of wildlife, a gorgeous pool and plenty of areas to eat and enjoy a gin and tonic with a view! Our kids loved the pool and would happily have spent the entire holiday in it - had it not been for the incredible beaches, 4 of which are within a 10 min drive. Each one a treat! The locals are wonderful, and we found plenty of bars and restaurants to enjoy. Sandra was helpful and accommodating at every part of the process -booking restaurants and offering advice for us and was available to answer lots of silly questions in the run up! Greta and Liz Ann, the manager housekeeper were such warm and lovely ladies - nothing too much trouble!. We felt safe despite being relatively secluded. If you like your holidays unspoilt, un touristy and beautifully tranquil then Tobago is the island for you and Mahogany Ridge a real find. We can't wait to return!!!!
Thank you so much for your wonderful review. So happy you had a wonderful holiday. And appreciated Mahogany Ridge, Tobago and all it has to offer.
Looking forward to hosting you again.
Such a pleasure to meet you and your lovely family.
Best wishes for the new year.
The place was even more beautiful then the pictures you see on Homeaway
Not only was this place beautiful but the road to it made it mysterious and exciting. It only took a few minutes to get to the beach or restaurants making this beautiful place convenient to all. Sandra's buddies Heather and Margaret were my island girls that helped out with anything we needed. Margaret Had a chicken stew dinner ready when we arrived that tasted amazing. No doubt we will be back. Thanks for the memories.
The airport at Crown Point is 20 mins. Scarborough 15mins. Black Rock 5 mins. Beaches Caribbean 5 mins Golf, Horse riding, Fishing, Diving, all within approx 5 - 15 minutes
The Prospect Estate was a Coconut Plantation and the original owner started to sell off some land some 25 - 30 years ago. Many coconut trees remain and as the nut falls it takes root and just grows anew. The land is rich and fertile and abundant. The grounds of the Pink House on Mahogany Ridge are full of lush tropical fruit trees, plants and flowers. A birdwatchers paradise, we bound with the famous Grafton Bird Sanctuary. Intrepid explorers can cut a path through some bush to walk down to the beautiful beaches through the bird sanctuary. A delightful experience. (in dry season only)
Other Activities: 5 Mins from Golf Course
Golf: There are 2 golf courses in Tobago. Mt Irvine International, just 5 minutes drive from the villa.
Plantation Golf Course, 10 minutes drive.
