The Hydrangea House is a unique and beautiful space full of artistic charm. The home is situated close to restaurants, grocery, shopping, and outdoor activities such as hiking, rafting, tubing, mountain biking, skiing and zip lining. It's an easy 15 minute drive to downtown Asheville. You’ll love the home for it's unique ambiance, mosaic tile work, private outdoor space, comfort, spaciousness and coziness that's just off the beaten path. It's unusual to find a home so private yet so convenient to Asheville.
I lived on this property in the Hydrangea House for 12 years and vacation rented the Wisteria Cottage, another vacation rental on the property (see listing #31846). I loved living here and am happy to be able to now offer the Hydrangea House as a vacation rental.
The House is truly unique. Stone fireplace newly outfitted with easy to use gas logs, a bright open sun room and warm and inviting kitchen/living room area. The bedrooms are cozy with super comfortable bedding and brand new memory foam beds, and views of the surrounding trees and mountains. Enjoy warming your toes by the outdoor fire pit on the stone patio surrounded by blooming Hydrangea (in season!).
Guests of the Hydrangea House enjoy one level living on the first floor. The lower level is used as a storage area and includes the laundry room. Guests have the full use of the patio and private 3/4 acre fenced yard out the sun room door for pet safety and your convenience. Great WiFi will keep you connected, if you so choose. Please be aware that small dogs could get out in places and the limit is 2 well-mannered dogs.
Your pups are welcome to join you on vacation! There are a few easy to follow rules regarding dogs such as picking up after your pet and using sheets (provided) to cover bedding should your dog(s) sleep with you in the bed. Dogs are not allowed to be left out in the fenced yard while you are away from the property. Crating is not mandatory but is always welcome. It is the expectation that guests will only bring dogs that are good with travel and new places, and do not suffer from extreme separation anxiety if you will be away for any length of time. Guests will be responsible for damage to the home from pets.
I do not live on the property but am around many times during the week for yard maintenance, cleaning the next door Cottage, and to check in with guests. You'll have your privacy but I am only a short distance away on the East side of Asheville, and available by phone/text should you have any questions.
Weaverville is a small community just North of Asheville. We have a beautiful town center with delicious restaurants, art stores and a couple of parks. Please visit Weaverville's website for information on the town: www.weavervillenc.org. The House is in a quiet, lovely location, at the end of a long driveway that takes you well off the main road.
It's super easy to get to anywhere you want to go in the area as the House is located less than one mile from I-26 and 15 minutes from Asheville. Quiet and convenient, a rare combination!
Everyone is welcome at Hydrangea House, I am lifestyle friendly.

About Jayne Abbot
I have made Asheville my home since 1995 and would never live anyplace else! I'm an avid outdoorsy type person enjoying hikes in the woods, kayaking, camping, wildflowers and many beautiful sunsets. In 2003 I purchased this property and lived in the Hydrangea House until 2015. Also on the property is the Wisteria Cottage (VRBO listing #31846) which I have been renting mostly as a vacation, occasionally as a long term rental, since I purchased the property. I also ran a small dog daycare/boarding/training business out of a 3rd building on the property during these years. I closed that business in 2015 and moved to the Riceville area (East Asheville) with my then fiancé now husband, Stan. When I moved, I didn't want to sell my home so started with a long-term renter and when he moved out, decided to create my second vacation rental home the Hydrangea House. I began renting it in October 2016. It's very rewarding to provide such a unique and beautiful space for vacationers to the NC mountains. I also love dogs! My other job is organizing and producing dog agility events in NC and TN.

Why Jayne Abbot chose Reems Creek
I chose to purchase this property back in 2003 because I was drawn to it's unique and beautiful one of a kind mosaic artwork, the layout of the home, and the expansive outdoor space. The beautiful, quiet, peaceful yet very convenient location cinched the deal. I loved living on the property for 12 years and running a small successful dog daycare/boarding business, as well as managing the cottage as a vacation rental. I am enjoying opening up the Hydrangea House to vacationers as well!

This was jaw dropping as you walk into the home
I loved this little house. It has a massive sunroom and kitchen. The tile work in this house makes it unique. I can’t wait to stay here again!
Perfect Pet Paradise
We enjoyed our stay at Hydrangea House, not only for "us folks" and the convenience of being near our local family, but for the perfect setting for the family pets. They could not have been more pampered if they stayed at home with our pet/house sitter. The house was stocked with everything we needed to be comfortable upon arrival. Kitchen appliances were modern and all in excellent condition. If or when we have the need for more space again, we would love to stay here!
Nice vacation home
Generally, when I vacation, I like to go, go, go. This home was so comfortable and cozy, I didn't mind hanging out and just enjoying the surroundings. It's located just outside of Weaverville, which has plenty of good restaurants and a good brewpub/pizza house. The drive to Asheville is reasonable (about 15 minutes away). There is a nice yard for a dog if you are traveling with one. The tile work inside was very appealing, as was the great room with large windows all around. Just about everything you would need was furnished, including a couple of local beers (in the fridge) upon arrival. Property was clean and beds were comfortable. Not that I'm a big TV watcher, but I did want to watch a college football matchup while I was there, and there is no cable or network TV service - so that would be my only knock, if you would even call it that. The house is great. Book it.
This place is beautiful!
Jayne was so sweet to let our family and pups stay there during a hurricane evacuation. The home is beautiful and it has a great fenced in yard. Things are also clearly labeled around the house to help you to more easily find things! We loved it, and will definitely try to stay here again next time our family visits Asheville!
We loved at stay at Hydrangea House it was beautiful we felt at home and the dogs enjoyed the large yard. The layout was perfect for our family and it had a warm inviting feeling as soon as you arrived. It's centrally located to everything we wanted to do in Asheville.
Some easily accessible activities include Hiking, whitewater rafting, Grove Park Inn & Spa, Biltmore Estate, North Carolina Arboretum, waterfalls, mountain biking, zip lines, art galleries, & incredible sightseeing along the beautiful Blue Ridge Parkway only minutes from the Cottage - it's all here!
