About Whites Sea Enterprises

FIRST SEASON OF Our first family vacation home, and we want to share it with like-minded vacationers. We live in Kentucky and have just discovered Dauphin Island ourselves. It's an exciting new adventure. We are constantly updating the decor. As the house was built in '08 to National Hurricane Standards you will find it a wonderful place to enjoy your days or weeks of fun.

I live on a farm in southcentral KY and am a Superhost to an Airbnb barn/studio apartment with swinging bridge over gorge. This will be our other venture; questions and suggestions are a must from our guests to make for maximum enjoyment.

Whites Sea Enterprises purchased this house in 2016

Why Whites Sea Enterprises chose Dauphin Island

When we discovered Dolphin Island it was transformative, we love the area, all local seafood, island bakery, churches situated conveniently in downtown. And this property is centrally located for quiet enjoyment of wildlife, handy to get from one end of the Island to the other.

What makes this house unique

It's fairly new, well built, thoughtfully decorated with guests in mind. We want it to be warm and welcoming for your stay here.

We had looked at many properties, both beach and beach view but when we first saw this house we knew it was just the place, situated for maximum enjoyment and has great potential - as you too will soon discover!

Wonderful accommodations!

  • 5 of 5

This was our second visit to the Alabama Coast. The first time we stayed in a condo in Gulf Shores off of the beach. The family agreed that we liked this location and the accommodations were better...the island is very laid back and quiet. The only downside was not being able to walk right down to the beach, but it was worth it to have the peace and quiet of the island. The house was on a quiet street and there were no other houses visible. We saw people working at a house under construction across the street, but never heard any noise. There was plenty of room for the four of us. We often find that the living room doesn't have enough space to accommodate four people, but there was plenty of room here. The house was generously stocked with plenty of linens (although you will want to bring beach towels) and kitchen supplies. We couldn't find any game boards as mentioned, but there were a few puzzles, books and toys. The master bed was lovely and we slept like angels. My kids said their beds were not as comfortable. The pictures are very true to the house...very lovely, up to date, and clean!

This doesn't reflect on the owners, but I was somewhat frustrated with the lack of clear information online regarding Dauphin Island beaches, so thought I would share some information here. There are three public beaches - West End, East End and one in the middle that seems to have no name? IMO, the West End Beach is the nicest. Parking very near by and the beach was clean, but not "groomed" if that is what you are used will see oil platforms on the horizon, but that didn't bother us. It was about 10 minutes from the house. We never found it to be crowded. It costs $6 to park plus $3 per person - pay once per day. Also, you can go late afternoon (5:30 or so?) and get in for free. You can rent chairs and other items during daytime hours. The middle beach is just $3 to park, but it is quite a walk to the beach and IMO not as nice as WEB. The beach on the east end is near the fort and was nice as well with some rock formations. I don't think swimming is allowed there due to currents. There are also some private beaches, including one by the golf course which is near the house - it was ok.. The beach that is connected to the bird sanctuary is very nice as well, and is free. It is a bit of a walk through the sanctuary.

All in all, we had a lovely stay...great property!

What we were looking for

  • 5 of 5

We enjoyed our stay very much. The house has everything you need to enjoy yourselves. The master bed was comfortable, the kitchen has most of the necessities. Has a nice grill, bikes, and other odds and ends to make you stay enjoyable. (It had been awhile since I had cooked on charcoal and fell back in love with it and bought a Weber grill when I got home.)

You have several beaches to chose from,( one just blocks from the house) some nice restaurants to eat at if you don’t feel like cooking, Fort Gaines is worth the tour. I will suggest that you stop at the grocery store in Bayou LaBatrie for true groceries as that is the closest real grocery store. Overall a great stay at a nice summer rental.

Nice house on a quiet, dead end street but just minutes from the private beach

  • 5 of 5

The house was spacious and clean. Everything we needed was provided including towels and linens. They have some DVD's to watch, both adult and kid friendly and a bookshelf with several different genres to choose from. They provided bikes for the kids to ride, a BBQ grill and even some buckets for the kids to collect seashells in. The master bedroom has a door leading to the screened in back porch. The kitchen was nice and included a lot of cookware, utensils and everything you need if you want to cook. The street where the house is located is super quiet but less than 5 minutes from the private beach. We visited both the private and public beach but definitely preferred the private one as there was a lot more playing room for the kids and significantly fewer people. The house is located off the beaten path, yet close to everything you could possibly want to do on the island, giving you a sense of seclusion and peacefulness. We will definitely be back!

Great house and great location!

  • 5 of 5

My sister and our kids stayed here for 4 nights and had a great time! The house was clean and decorated nicely. We loved that there were bikes for us to use! We also like how tucked away the house is. Sitting on the back screened in porch surrounded by trees was so nice! And it’s a short drive or bike to the beach. I would definitely recommend staying here.
