Great escape for young family

  • 5 of 5

We had an absolute wonderful time at Mangrove Cove. Carol was extremely responsive to any and all needs along the way. She even provided a pack n play for our one year old, along with lots of beach toys for our three year old to spend hours at the beach with. The full kitchen is completely stocked with every appliance needed and staple items. Highly recommend going to Detwiler’s Farm Market in Venice for groceries if you are traveling down from the north. The private beach is so peaceful and beautiful, our neighbors during our time were amazing and enhanced our stay ten fold...Second the above rating about only needing the clothes on your back. Washer/Dryer inc with unit along with two kayaks for beautiful, peaceful mornings by the mangroves. Would highly recommend for anyone, from couples to young families, to families with older kids to retired folks. Can’t wait for our return visit!

Really special place!

  • 5 of 5

Great property in a beautiful location. The unit is well maintained and clean. Everything you need for your stay is there, you won't want for anything from beach chairs, beach toys, grill, pots and pans, etc. this is one of the best stocked rentals we have stayed at. The area around it feels very secluded and serene, we enjoyed sitting outside watching the wildlife and walking the beach across the street. It is very convenient and practically deserted. Great shark tooth and shell collecting! The Englewood area is beautiful, with convenient grocery stores and restaurants. Venice and Sarasota are close and worth exploring. Great boutiques in Venice especially. The unit is a great option for a couple or small family, or rent both units for more room. We did not use the kayaks but they are available as well. Carol was very responsive to questions. Like the other reviewers noted, we really enjoyed our stay, you will too.

Best Family Vacation ever!

  • 5 of 5

2500 Characters is no where near enough to describe the enjoyment my family and I had at this quaint duplex. Let's start with the inside. The inside has been tastefully renovated with every amenity you could need. The kitchen is completely stocked with everything you need as far as cooking/preparing meals. The bedroom and living room are small, but comfortable. The A/C works perfectly, which comes in handy after a day at the beach. Outside, there is a breezeway between the two units with ceiling fans. There is an outside shower with hot and cold water for rinsing off anything from the beach. There are beach toys for the kids, Kayaks, Fishing gear. If you arrived with just the clothes on your back and food to eat, you would be completely content with what's provided. The beach is directly across the street, and through a neighbors driveway. It is magnificent, secluded, and teaming with wildlife. No other vacation has provided such a learning experience for my kids. We had a variety of wildlife meander through the property on any given day. From the native Gopher Tortoise, the invasive Black tail Iguanas, the beautiful Ospreys, to the Cute young Raccoons who came to visit one evening. If your a shell or sharks tooth enthusiast, you will not be disappointed. After purchasing a "sand flea rake" at a local walmart, and watching a few Youtube videos, I was finding hundreds of teeth a day, and shells that looked as if they came straight from a local gift shop. I can honestly say that I enjoyed this vacation more than most cruises I have been on. Ms. Carol was as pleasant as she could be, and made the whole process of renting a breeze. Even when small problems arose, she worked diligently to get them resolved. You wont find that at those major rental complexes. Overall, I can't wait to schedule next years vacation. So be forewarned, the end of July is my week! Thanks to Ms. Carol and our wonderful neighbors who made this the best vacation my family has ever had.

Peaceful and private!

  • 5 of 5

Rented both units. Loved having the covered area between the units for eating and just hanging out and visiting. Very quite and peaceful area. Nice yard for letting the kids play. Bought water guns and they chased each other around squirting each other and not once did you have to tell them to shush because you will disturb anyone. The owner was very responsive and genuinely wanted you to have a good time. Place is well stocked. We actually pre fix meals that we could pop in oven. The beach was beautiful. Only negative was we came right after rainy season started and the mosquitoes were too rough on the island to enjoy the bay. Ended up having to run to Walmart and buy spray.

great location

  • 5 of 5

Cleverly and tastefully redecorated older apartment. The two units are separated by a carport. Not a luxury condo but very nice and suited our tastes perfectly. This is an ideal place for a couple. The location is awesome and very quiet at night. Beautiful wooded lot. The only negative is that we felt uncomfortable walking through a neighbor's yard to the beach as we were instructed. The beach is great and rather private and we took the kayak out for a paddle in the bay which is about fifty yards from the condo. It is about 150 yard walk to the beach. I cooked on an actual charcoal grill for the first time in many years. Forgot how good it was. Definitely would return.

Owner's Response: We are so glad you enjoyed your stay. It is a peaceful setting. The properties on North Manasota Key bay side. have legal accesses to the beach and the beachside owner has a legal access to the bay. Our legal access property has a very friendly owner. Looking forward to your return.
