The Chateau de Rivaulde is a former property of the Schneider Family. The Schneider were a family of XIXth Century industrialists. They owned Steel Mills in Bourgogne and were at the origin of the railway industry in France. They had also interests in the armament industry and were the producers of the 75mm cannon used by the French Military in the 1st world war. The Chateau de Rivaulde was a hunting property used to entertain clients and politicians. The Chateau was surrounded by 3000 hectares of land. Today, the owners have tried to preserve the environment and wildlife around the Chateau.
You can stroll in the beautiful park or walk around the equestrian center located on the other side of the river. Parking is available and main amenities including a fully stocked supermarket is within walking distance.
