A few unpleasant experiences tainted this property for me

Within two hours of arriving at this location someone tried to break into my car and smashed my driver side window. When I told management they didn't even offer condolences. (I understand I signed paperwork saying my car is my responsibility, but technically since I signed it after having parked my car there, and THEY told me to park it there- could that still be a liability for them? Maybe. But I Wasn't looking for restitution, just some basic sympathy or maybe an offer to contact the security. You know... basic customer service) when I notified the management, they were apathetic.

On the following weekend at 230am a smoke alarm started going off (not a low battery, actual alarm). There was no smoke anywhere but it Went off for about 15 minutes until I took it off the wall and tried to access the battery. It's an unusual alarm so I couldn't pull the battery out. I eventually just wrapped it up in a towel to quiet it and it turned off. Notified management, they said, "take a picture and we'll bring a new battery. Still customer service MIA. (It's your property. Why don't you come and figure it out...)

Last: cockroaches. Found a big dead one that same weekend. Then saw 4 or 5 small ones sneaking around during my stay. Notified management. (I was casual, not a big deal. We're in a tropical climate. I know there's bugs. But I just wanted to make sure one of their properties had some small bugs popping up. Could turn into an issue). Once again, management responded "well we didn't see anything when we cleaned the place". Wow. I wasn't expecting a big deal to be made. (Maybe come out lay a couple roach traps. Small apology). Whatever....

The location was alright. Rooms were fine. But with the response I received from management for some of these small problems, I wonder how they would react if something worse happened. Glad I won't be around to see.

Owner's Response: Aloha, We rarely address our Guest's reviews but, certainly will comment on this one. There is a reason parking garages everywhere post signs to not leave valuables in you car. It is common knowledge that garages are places that are subject to break ins. We do not manage garages. We do not park Guest's vehicles. As a 3rd party, we do not report vehicle issues. We never recommend parking a car with valuables in plain sight just like the sign at the garage says. We change smoke alarm, remote control and electronic door lock batteries on a schedule. We do ask Guests to send a quick picture when something is out of order and is an unusual item like this alarm. The property this Guest rented has a scheduled professional pest control program. The do not use consumer style roach traps. We have managed this condo and have never had a complaint about pests at this property. Guests can unknowingly bring roaches (and other visitors) into a condo. They arrive in cardboard boxes and paper bags. They can hitchhike in back packs. Since the inspectors before this Guest's arrival and also at check out who looked especially for pests found no evidence of pests, chances are the pests were not from the building and died due to the pest management measures.
